    360's

I had, and I think I still have that same problem. Then a senior jumper suggested to pay attention to my legs, and flatten out my body more. So we worked on it. First by getting comfortable flying a flatter body (de-arch a little basically). Then learn to accelerate my turns by using my legs (legs out, drop a shoulder and the opposite knee). Instead of carving a 10 ft radius, I'm now doing about 5 and not wasting as much altitude getting back with the other jumpers.
  2. Check out a Diablo. 7 cell like a Spectre, elliptical or tapered like a Stilleto. Best of both worlds. My opinion. Flame away.
  3. I'll have to agree with the rapid toggle input theory. Especially with today's high performance canopies, I think we need to paymore attention to our toggle inputs. Kind of like power steering - you don't want to apply the same force as you would on grandma's Buick. I've heard about self-induced line twists, and it happened to me when I was trying flat turns on a Silhouette 190. I learned that I had I not let my turning toggle pass over the level of my braking toggle, and rapidly might I include, the line twists would less likely happen. Also, I was just transitioning quiet quickly from a SkyMaster 290 (over 50 jumps) and different + smaller canopies when this happened. And on my Diablo 170 (at 6th jump) I stabbed my toggle as I was coming in to land (about 10 feet off the ground) when another jumper overtook me and got pretty close. That move cost me a terribly sprained ankle. Then I read in Parachutist that a 28 yr old female jumper did something similar but at 50 feet. That spooked me.
  4. In that case, ask for their resume, set up an interview, and ask for 3 references who are also likely candidates.
  5. Of course he wouldn't have thought you're a skydiver. With a name like that, I thought you'd be driving a #24 Chevy Monte Carlo and be trading paint when you hurt your thumb.
  6. Unless everyone of those people are deaf, they'd hear something. Besides, even if I threw the switch, it'll break and not do anything. Just like in the movies. In reality, I'd get sued for tampering. Then get charged for manslaughter because somebody'd die. Then I'll counter sue the raildroad and the freight co. for their negligence and mental distress.
  7. Here's a better picture to post for you. I think it even suits your name. http://www.msnbc.com/news/1494125.jpg
  8. eh he huh huh... you said bulge But hey look! Here's a naked video of him with the rig.
  9. Yeah! Go ahead and listen AndyMan. Why listen to me? 61 posts so what do I know huh? That'll be the last time I help you.

    9/11 Timeline

Do you really think that the intelligence folks know everything? Who do they have working for them? Ms. Cleo? Shit! Even her crystal ball didn't tell her she was going to get sued big time. And all the while she's probably playing solitaire. How can they know what's going to happen next? They still haven't found Bin Ladin. They could find Saddam. And they missing bombing Noriega by how many miles? Oh... And what about McVeigh? Didn't see that one coming did they? If these folks are that smart, they'd retire by now because everyone of them would have known every week's winning lotto.
  11. Same here. I bought my first gear, put about 6 jumps when I hurt myself. Got comfy, didn't look around on final, and at about 10 ft off the ground and 20 ft from my target a jumper overtook me and got close enough to take away my comfy. I stabbed my right toggle. Bad move. Hit the ground so hard I sprained my ankle and was out for 3 weeks. Good thing - I was already flaring my first stage. Lessons learned - fly as defensively as you drive.
  12. Hey I just thought a retractable pin was cool. Kind of like a switch blade. And you can't forget to cock it. eh huh huh huh. I said cock
  13. I was thinking the same thing for velcroless toggles. Just didn't want to get shot down for mentioning that idea since I'm no rigger.
  14. Don't know if this'll work, but try sticking this url and see http://www.dropzone.com/files/users/forums/2-159438-Monk.jpg
  15. PM unisyn on this. He's gotta know best. 1984? Holy! And I thought my 1997 with velcro riser covers is old.
  16. I personally have never come across a rig without keepers for stowing excess brake line. In the event that I do, I wouldn't stow it through the link connector. I would instead run it perpendicularly between the velcro on my toggles and risers. I'm no rigger so what do I know right?

    MAD AS HELL

------------------------- Learn to take the lemons and make em in to lemonade ------------------------- And add ice and tequila to that!
  18. It may not be what you're looking for, but take a look at Precision's Kill-Line PC. It's got a retractable closing pin that only comes out of the bridle when it's cocked. No confusing with faded color thru the little window when getting gear checks.
  19. I had a friend who masturbated his dog by pinning it's penis between his toes while he stroked it repeatedly! And he showed it to me! That was childhood trauma I shit you not.
  20. Same thing I've heard - it's a royal pain in the tush to pack thanks to the pop top. I guess if you've been a rigger your whole life this would be something rigger friendly. Hey. All I've jumped are Nothern Lights, Infinties, and Mirage so call me a snob.

    Sad Beer News

So I watched the 5pm news and there was some jam on I-5. I figure what's unusual? It's Friday, it's sunny (and I'm too worked up to head over to Kapowsin), and people want to head out and enjoy the weekend. Big deal. But it was on the Centralia stretch (about 75 miles south of Seattle). And it had to do with a truck delivering BEER! It spilled all over the freeway! What a waste.
  22. Adrenaline sure is a rare and expensive drug. The most obvious side effect has got to be "perma-grin"
  23. 30k 100k doesn't matter to the company. Them CEOs probably get a fat ass bonus at the expense of the workers. As far as I'm concerned all companies really have 2 items on their mission statement: 1) Rip off the customers 2) Screw the employees And business ethics is an oxymoron
