Yeah, I've been told by all not to flare. Good note about the front skirt and the steering vents. First time I've heard that. No shit. I thought I was wearing a tandem rig when I put the thing on. No pics, H/C is a Pioneer. DOM 1971. Last reserve repack was 5-80. Canopy is sky blue. Don't k now if the lines have been shortened, not likely though. Definitely not. Guy was strictly military. I have it at Dave DeWolf's getting it checked. H/C is good, main is good. We'll be getting into the reserve this week. There's already a line formed. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. So, my wife is in a class for her job at a local community college. It urns out the instructor is a Nam era HALO guy. He finds out my wife is a jumper. They talk, he asks her if she wants his old HALO rig which his wife has been bugging him to get rid of. She tells him she's not interested but thinks her husband (me) would be. Semi long story short, I'm now the owner of a vintage 1971 PC. I've got it at Dave DeWolf's loft to see if the reserve is airworthy and if so get it in the air. SO, I have a few questions: 1. Does anyone know where I can get a packing manual for it? 2. I know I'll be pounding in, so other than a real good PLF, is there any other tricks to do on landing? 3. How does one spot for a PC? You can't stop people from polarizing into groups around a commonality. The damage is done. If we are ever going to fox it we need to understand it. That's why I posted. I am taking the unprecedented step of putting myself on a riggers blacklist. I can no longer, due to physical complications from a knee surgery gone bad, perform the job of rigging either for myself or others. So, if anyone presents a rig with the seal TXU and certificate number 2807964 on it, decline to allow that person to board aircraft unless or until a fresh repack has been obtained.
