    Nervous?

I suppose I am being just a little modest! WOOHOO!! I graduated from AFF! Maybe that's another reason why I wasnt so scared at the door....wanted to nail this one! Thanks Gary! and THANKS for being there with me! We waited nearly all day for that jump and was the best one for me so far. What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it

    Nervous?

"I focus my nervous energy into checking my gear, mentally reviewing the dive, a last-chance-check of handles and buckles, pre-spotting, spotting, etc. That way I am so busy with "safety stuff" that I don't have time to get scared." That's a very good point. I tend to check & recheck my gear too...make sure i got all my handles...not thinking about being scared. What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it

    Nervous?

I have only 9 jumps and in fact, 12/31 was my first time back in the air since 10/21 due to a hard landing accident and then the weather. But funny thing is...i wasnt nervous at all when i got to the door. Maybe a little heart palpitating on the way up to altitude, but i was imagining a great skydive on the way up. My exit was nearly perfect! No tumbling and it was all good. The thing i do too is while i'm out running...i imagine a great skydive...shake out my hands and loosen up, telling myself to relax. Seems to help. What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  5. "i left about 5000 ft of snot trailing on the way down. it was very weird and felt funny but i wasnt congested when i got down" Aaahhh!! so THAT explains the goop on my goggles! ; ) What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  6. 1. skydive more...weather permitting 2. work out more...no more once a month stuff...too much pain involved...plus...need to firm up the skin after skydving! 3. lose 10 pounds...the ones i gained over the last 3 years 4. have more fun...especially skydiving 5. say i love you more to my grown 20 year old daughter...whom i'm trying to convert! ; ) 6. stop dating men who have g/f's!! grrrr!! the dogs!! 7. be more aware of my spending habits..been getting lazy with that lately!! 8. learn how to ski (again) 9. possibly learn how to snowboard 10. get close to my siblings again after my mother's death...that's a tough one What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  7. I thought the same thing at one time. Then I thought, hell...why should I have to tie mine??? HE should tie HIS...let the men know the threshold of pain! What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  8. I'm still getting over a slight head cold too. I went for a jump yesterday...first time with a head cold. My left ear was bothering me most of the evening afterwards. It finally popped clear by yawning mostly. I noticed my nose began to run a little too during the ascent. But, it was all well worth the jump! 9. Gary my dear..this is not your average stuffy Christmas lunch. ; ) I would definately ditch that to go jumping!! : ) This is a more close knit bunch of people, kinda like family...post-office fire group. But I'm gonna try to do whatever possible to get up there before they close down for Christmas! What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  10. " made one at about 2200 ft. I tasted adrenalin on exit again" Damn! Now THAT would be scary, for almost anyone! I KNOW i'm not ready for hop n pop yet, so I can understand how the newly off AFF person must have felt. I was definately ready to jump at 13k though...Had my mind set & wanted to "just get out" What you "think" you cannot do ...you CAN if you "think" about it
  11. I wanted sooooo desperately to jump today! the damn clouds were out and the plane couldn't go any higher than 4k. I'm not cleared yet from AFF, only needed one jump to do that! Shit! Blame it on the weather!! Oh well, i hung out, watched a couple vid's, and participated in a game with the other hop -n- hoppers...was a cool (COLD) day all in all...Anything I can do to keep involved, no matter what the weather...it helps stay motivated and focused when you can't jump!! Oh, and I will definately not treat you like "oh, that's just FallenAngel's husband". At least i'll try not to ; ) BTW, dying to know Doug's cutesy name, you can whisper it to me and i promise i wont tell. Really, i promise i wont!! Haha...but then again, i am known to be a trouble maker!
  21. Karen, It's really the other way around. LOL Gary planted the idea of crashing the closing ceremonies in my head....He made me do it!! I'm just an innocent bystander!! Honest, I didn't do it!! Thats my defense!! LOL
  22. Gary, you don't remember Karen? I didn't know her husband's name is Steve, but as soon as the weather gets better, we'll all hook up there at SkyDance....Hopefully next weekend!!
  23. What a bizarre website! Not surprising they would pick skydiving to represent "idiocy" & "insanity" !! How about bull fighting as being insane & idiotic? Think the weather will let up a little this weekend?
  24. Ok...i have to ask...Do you guys like a perky 34B or a big mamma DD?
  25. I'm a very respecable woman...who likes to skydive...and practices law.
