  1. Wow..everyone said some awesome things. Here's my list: 1. For passing the bar exam last year so that I can make more money to pay for the lessons in order to skydive! 2. Family, children for putting up with my talk about skydiving (My son will be the next skydiver in the family, i'm sure of this!!) 3. Thanks to being healthy enuff to skydive 4. Thanks to all the great staff at SkyDance for their expertise in training & safety issues...AND for putting up with me...(every time I show up, something usually goes wrong, for which i learn from) 5. That i was able to walk away from my 10/21/01 hard landing. 6. That even at 42, I can still have multiple orgasms ; ) 7. That my boss is humurous enuff to support my desire and passion and not get pissed if i dont come in because my ass hurts!! LOL 8. More importantly, I thank God for providing all the things we need.
  2. Glad to hear you at least made it without injuries. No, it's not too much to expect. Our dropzone makes sure everyone is accounted for. One time, I landed in some high winds...made me drift way off the DZ landing. But since they were already keeping an eye on me...partly because i'm still student status..but mostly because they are concerned for everyone's safety, i landed the MF in a another field fortunately, and they came to get me. Awesome group of people at my DZ. You have every right to expect them to be there, make sure you get back safely, and especially at dusk!
  3. Did that student ever come back to finish the program? Must have been a scary exerience for her/him.
  4. Excellent prayer Tom! I have to say that on my 5th, 6th & 7th jumps, i did say a prayer. Just to make sure that everyone on the plane is safe...jumps safely, and lands safely. Oddly enuff, I did NOT say a prayer on my 8th jump and I ended up in ER. Prayers will always be the first thing I do before, during & after he jump from now on!
  5. Contrats to everyone!! Woohooo!! BTW: I'm glad you had a great tim in SF. It is pricey...in the touristy places. I might be out there in Houston in the near future...got a client that lives there. I'll let you know when, probably won't be for another 4 months.
  6. Des: you sound like you know Clint personally = O I'm curious as to what his "minor problem" is ; ) Perhaps he's trying to circumvent the system without paying his dues. Oh well, I have sympathy, but not much patience with people who don't listen. I certainly hope he attempts to go to a local dropzone & get it going..that is, IF he's really serious. Prolly nuf said on this topic i'm sure : )
  7. You will absolutely love skydiving...and yes.. you will get addicted! At our dropzone, we can pay as we go...maybe that's more expensive in the long run, but i suspect that since you're 19, you probably don't have much in the way of finances. So, my advice in that regard is...as long as you're eager NOW to get started..do so NOW and not wait til you have all the money to pay the whole thing. Life circumtances change and you may regret not having started at this very moment. Check into your dropzone to see if they will do a pay as you go or some kind of payment plan. When they see that you are serious, i'm sure they will help you out. Good luck, and have fun!!
  8. LOL...I would pass the bong...if i had one! Hope the weather clears a little bit tomorrow so we can jump!
  9. I suppose you're right. I'll cut him some slack ; )
  10. Clinton has asked some pretty bizarre questions, that in my mind...raise some serious issues 1. Why does he want to know who skydives in Florida? Isn't that where a lot of Bin Laden's co-horts came from, the one's that blasted the twin towers, and took classes there? 2. Why does he ask that you bring your own insurance? Life insurance policy maybe? 3. Why does he insist on requesting to get a PERSONAL skydive trainer!!?? I think someone ought to check this nut into Bedlam...of course that doesn't exist anymore, but something damn close to it!!
  11. At my DZ if you don't bring beer for a first your shunned and stoned! Well now...I hope nobody stones me! Anyway..I may be traveling to Houston for business purposes...and I too do not have a license yet but will be cleared from student status next week hopefully. I would love to jump in Houston. I am a USPA member and if I don't have my license, will there be a problem jumping at Houston?
  12. am I seeing things?? If you saw silver Wingnut...hmmm...i saw some awesome freefall pics!! unless of course i didn't see them all
  13. you need to copy the website...then paste into your search zone...Excellent pics!!
  14. next Sunday, i'll have a better ratio, I'm sure of that!! I am ready to go!! I'm gonna nail this one, I AM a SKYDIVER!!
  15. well, since i coulda, shoulda, woulda, but didn't: 0:0:0 1. My therapist was unavailable ; ) (Gary, you know this one all too well!!) 2. My fears got the best of me 3. Didn't have any firsts (unless my first ER visit after a skydive counts...then I owe beer)
  16. faster than the speed of light! Way cool!! *unrelated* I didn't jump today...although i was at the drop zone. just hung out...watched others how they flare in...i probably got a little nervous (ok,maybe alot!!) about going up since my last jump when i landed extremely hard!! but going again tomorrow.
  17. Lisa: That's some serious deprivation! Chances of recovery are very slim at that rate....hehe
  18. Glad to hear the news! Sorry again that I won't see you this weekend. Don't work too hard, thus necessitating another visit to the doctor! Have a good weekend! Terri
  19. Oh My!! Gary, you are making me blush! LOL Although I do like to INTAKE, but only with the right therapist, ; ) Also, physical therapy should be prescribed as a means of treating the multiple orgasmic area...and must be 3-4 times a week, if not more, to ensure a full recovery. And even after that, a maintenance program should be in place to maintain the level of physical agility to skydive....and other things as well!!
  20. Gary: you are SO bad!! LOL I got that same question earlier tonight...I'm getting legitmate physical therapy! Trust me. I'll bring the intake sheet for proof!! hehe
  21. I stand corrected, there IS a bridge we have to pass over...the Carquinez! I was totally thinking of MAJOR bridges, but I'm sure we have nothing to worry about...I believe they were talking about bombing bridges during commute hours.
  22. Lummy, did you ever find out if SkyDance is closed? I don't think they are near a nuclear power plant though. Luckily we won't be traveling any bridges...I heard there are threats of bombing bridges today. So what time are we leaving? 9ish? And please have some of your excellent espresso ready!! : ) It was very tasty! p.s. My toosh is feeling much much better, one more day of physical therapy & I'm good to go! Can't wait!
  23. Karen: That's too bad you wont be able to make it this weekend : ( Oh well, sometime soon we'll hook up. And I think I'll have them put me on radio for another jump, just in case I end up saying "oh shit" too many times!! I'll ask them about the 180 Omega, see what they say. I havent had too many bruises from the 190, except for those landings = O, but they put me on a 225 once and the damn right side of the harness around my leg dropped to my knee practically!! Plus, it was way too heavy! Anyhoo, hope to see ya up there soon!
  24. Thanks Airann! I realized that AFTER I opened fire!
  25. OOOPPSS!! I have to apologize ramon, I should have read YOUR post more clearly! I see that you were flaming rqoper!! Sorry about that!!
