Awesome reserve, best reserve that i flown so far. Deep flair stroke, I can be in full arm length and still sink it down without stalling it. Which come in handy when chasing stuff down. Compare to similar pack volumed Smart 120 this is much superior canopy. Less twitchy when flying, does not stall out, and it is bigger. What I love is how it packs, very easy packing, it will crawl into the free bag by it self, rigger should give you discount on pack job because it is that easy. Easy packing means better pack job. better pack job= better opening. I have two rig and I'm selling my other Smart this year just to buy another OP 143.

I wish control lines were lengthened by an 1 1/2 inches or so. While chasing my stuff down in deep breaks I felt it stall for a moment, however I do have freakishly long arms and I use 26 inch risers. If you have normal arm length you should be alright. Used Smart 175 at 1.2 and Smart 120 at 1.75. I would not wanna load this thing more than 1.9, and that is just a personal opinion.

Name one cancer patient that is going thru chemo and still skydive. There are many cancer survivors that are healthy that still jumps. Okay, go ahead and teach what you want, while rest of us will tell em to land without flaring. Might as well teach them to split the canopy into down plane and chop. And how did my friend's bi-plane turn into down plane at 15-20 feet and breaking his wrist? By trying to flair the canopy in front, as soon as toggle popped out of the loop, main canopy surged forward and turn it into semi-downplane. This guy had 150 sabre2 main with 160 ish reserve. On this case he should've induced down plane 1000ft ago and landed on his reserve. Teaching student to PLF is the best bet IMO. I thought we teach students this because this procedure because they have two almost identical sized and shaped main and reserve, and this is the most simplest ways to teach first jump course student. Two canopy out not a big deal, just fly carefully, away from obstacle, try to land into the wind, and PLF, and do not cutaway unless it turns into down plane and try to kill you, that is what USPA teaches. Ofcourse these aren't the only rule, as the jump number progresses, individual jumper needs to revise what they were taught. We also teach students to do EP with two hands, and we also teach students to spread riser and kick in a event of line twist. If I would've followed that to the T, i would've had way more cutaway and lost handles. Spreading does not help in linetwist, squeezing the risers together helps out way more. I've seen handful of two out landings, I've seen two down plane, which both of the jumper walked away. (one had over 600ft of material and the other was sub 400ft) I've also seen two bi-plane landings, One of them did not flair and did PLF and landed fine(400ft of canopy), the other guy try to flair at the last 20ft and that turn into a down plane and broke his wrist.(300ft of material) One landing I saw was side by side and the jumper had over 400 ft of material over the head and old dude did a PLF and walked away. and last but not least, I've seen one two out, where reserve was flying upside down underneath the jumper. what the fuck do you do than??? Once you reach certain speed and angle, flapping cloth will only provide drag and does not do anything for lift. Best non-wingsuit or non-inflating suit will be RW suit with booties. IMO.
