Anyone getting married? GREAT deal on ring(s)...
bmcd308 replied to sunnydee123's topic in The Bonfire
Used has its downsides, too - if you go to a reputable jeweler, you generally know exactly what you are getting. E-bay is no place to buy diamonds or designer purses. ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com -

Thanks. I guess I have to admit that I'm not really interested in buying the rings, but maybe once you've moved to Memphis you'll decide that we can make use of them. Brent ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com -

For serious RW, it needs to give your total time on level, above, and below the formation, as well as the freefall computer ID number of the person whose dock knocked you eight feet. It also needs to give the percentage of the dirt dive you actually completed. For example, if your ambitious load organizer has a 20 point dirt dive, and you smoke it down to 3,000 before the initial round builds, it would say 5%. If someone was cocky enough to say "and then we'll just go through it again", then you get a 2.5%. I've been on quite a few 0% jumps, but thankfully have been causing fewer of them lately. I think this is because I am starting to master one of the important RW skills not taught in AFF - immediately blaming someone else for my own crappy flying. After all, if the formation can't fly sideways as fast as I can backslide, they really weren't all that great in the first place, were they? Brent ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

That is awesome, but I'd suggest making the artwork white rather than blue for more contrast. Since that was not a choice, I would prefer the white lettering. But I'm getting one regardless. Brent ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

I made it about four weeks in BFL. The results were dramatic. I question some of the photos simply because the muscle gain seems impossible, but my fat loss was astounding. In my four weeks, I probably only had about three total days where I did the program exactly right in terms of the eating (it is harder than you think to arrange your life such that you can eat all those meals), but I was honest with myself about the intensity levels when I worked out, and the results were great. I fell off the wagon for a couple of days, though, and never really got motivated again. So, to answer your questions directly: 1. No. I have not done the 12 week program. 2. No. The people who turned me onto it fell off the wagon when I did (but they had already been on it about three weeks, and their results were spectacular.) 3. No, not in all cases. Some of those people just put on too much muscle mass for me to believe it. 4. Yes, but it's hard. My warning goes something like this: At first, when you are excited, it's all mind over matter so you do it to show yourself you can do it. Then you are getting great results so that keeps you motivated. Then chicks in bars start wanting to go home with you, so you start hanging out in bars. This last phase occurs before 12 weeks is up, so you don't finish. BMcD... ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

I believe that on Rebel series bodies, AI Servo picks up the subject on the center focus point regardless of which point is selected, then tracks it with the selected focus point. For portrait orietation shots, I have gotten good results by giving the camera lots of time to track the subject, acquiring it with the center focus point at a distance then zooming out as they approach and letting the bottom center focus point (remember the camera is rotated 90 degrees) cover the eyes. Then track the eyes with that focus point and start choosing your moments. I have ruined some great shots by leaving the lens on too long of a setting - now I am a believer in erring on the short side and cropping out excess background in an enlargement. Admittedly, this is only a crutch for poor camera operation, but swoopers are a very challenging thing to shoot. BMcD... ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

I was seriously considering downsizing until I had to put my canopy down off the dz in a field. It is a big, safe field to land in, but it was very muddy so I wanted to land on the high spot. I was glad I was able to stick it where I wanted it so that it did not fall in the wet. I read this on here somewhere before, and it's true - you never land off in a tight area and look up at your canopy and think "Damn, I sure wish it was smaller." I think it is natural to worry about other people jumping. When I was a student, I used to watch my instructors fall away after I opened, and the time between my opening and theirs was the most stressful part of the skydive. BMcD... ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

No problem. Incidentally, there are relationships that are never going anywhere and both people know it and stick with it. It is OK to be human and want comfort and convenience sometimes, even if the whole time you know that someday it will have to change. Brent ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

I wasn't sabotaging it. I just knew it was never going to grow into something bigger for longer than she did. If I had ended it while she still had hope that it was going somewhere, she definitely would have thought of me as the bad guy. ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com
