That's nuts; I love it.

Since you failed to follow through on your mission, I demand that you delete this thread. You are charged with derelection of duty! BooHahahaha!
-
Love is a four letter word. I am not loving you at this time.
-
Agreed, but my point was that I had been turning that direction for nearly 15 years by the time Larry made his first skydive. I started jumping at Raeford in 1984.

when is a pond swoop a pond swoop?
SkymonkeyONE replied to skyedivr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Pond swooping equals toe dragging. Swooping over a pond might be called pond swooping in some circles, but not in my world. I consider PPPB gate accuracy pond swooping because you get extra points for dragging, but I do not consider PPPB distance or speed "pond swooping". The pond is there in those events as a safety measure. On the other hand, every single event in the PSN involves dragging body parts in the water in order to be scored; no drag= zero swoop points. Bottom line here is that if you are gonna swoop a pond for shits and grins, drag a toe and get the glory points. Chuck -
Jari went from Atair to Icarus to PD. He jumps a Velocity now. Chuck

I seriously doubt that, LeRoy. Oh yeah, when are you coming back? Chuck
-
Maybe he got the clap from someone named Cicily...

For small changes, some swoopers will use slinks on the front or rear and rapides on the other end. Fives are longer than fours, etc. The difference between slinks and number fives is about a half inch. It's amazing what that little difference can make. Chuck

Hey Klippe, if you aren't going to spill the beans or post any pictures, why in the world did you start the thread? We hate teases around these parts. Azul sends

I try and log a couple of times a day, but end up not doing it till the end of the day normally. I leave my logbooks in my locker at the school, so sometimes I forget to log jumps I do off the dropzone (work, demos, etc.) then have to add them out of sequence later. Chuck

Larry had nothing to do with the way I make my turns.

Back when I skysurfed a lot, belly flyers were easily able to stay down with me, even on a 42 inch board. I would easily out-float people on the four and a half footer if I wanted to.

Yes, uh, but it's SICILY, not cicily.

DZ.com Record Attempt at Raeford Parachute Center
SkymonkeyONE replied to slotperfect's topic in The Bonfire
Actually, I am sure we can do it several times. We will do it as soon as we have enough people on the premesis, then later when even more are there. Chuck -
The RW guy saw that sunset for 33 percent longer than you did. I, jumping my wingsuit, would have watched it for four times longer than you. THAT is the difference. Chuck

You guys have fun at the meet, just don't let me catch anyone pissing near my RV. For anyone coming down, or up, for the NSL meet, we have a big Raegae band playing in Aviators on Saturday night. It ought to be a hoot. Chuck -

Just a reminder, this is coming up not this weekend, but next (Columbus day). We have an NSL regional meet here this weekend. Chuck -
Our team uses StarTrac 1 and 2's in 260 and 280.

Help the Batt pick where to fly- Raeford or St. George?
SkymonkeyONE replied to dbattman's topic in The Bonfire
Trevor, one of our freefliers, made his first BirdMan flight today with me; he did great. Anyone coming here for next weekend should bring their wingsuit if they have one. Chuck -
I am a current military freefall jumpmaster. Best military jump would have to have been one of the many jumps I did onto NAS Boca Chica, five miles north of Key West. It is an amazing view. Worst jump was either my last SL jump in February 1998 in the Dominican Republic (ramp, C-130, flaps not extended, severe whiplash, rendered unconscious), or the AJ/H/N/T/CE/02 jump into Bogue Auxilliary Airfield out on the North Carolna coast. I posted a lengthy story about it in another thread some time ago. There were some severe injuries to others and I could have been killed at least 15 different ways on that one. Chuck

Making left traffic for a "road to runway" swoop down the beer line at Raeford forces you to complete your turn in order to miss the obstacles, that is one reason I only turn right. The second reason is that my head does not crank left very well (too many hard openings with a video camera on my head a long time ago). For both of these reasons, I am just much more conditioned to turn right, so that is what I stick with. Chuck

I guess that depends on a number of things. Does the suit fit you well? Is it in good shape? Do you mind the colors? I have seen plenty of classics for sale at that price. The only major difference in the classic and classic II, as far as I have seen, is that the original suit was a single zipper front opening and the newer ones are all double zipper. It's just easier to get in and out of a double zipper. Chuck

Likewise, it would be good to tell these people that come from overseas that they don't want to be wasting their time scheduling at SkyVenture in the middle of the day unless they want to be laying on the net a lot, flying all cupped up, or wearing slip-ons. Yes, it's a much stronger civilian tunnel than Pigeon Forge, but it's certainly not Fort Bragg. As such, people blocking off lots of time are wise to fly at night when, as Lance Kerwin would put it, "the mollecules are not so rarified". Chuck
