Lisa, now you really owe me, like in PRISON. UGH and double UGH!
-
OK, I am not talking about the leading or trailing edge; I am talking about the short piece that comes straight down from your wrist before the trailing edge of the wing goes over to your waist. The small piece of dowling, or whatever, I am talking about is only maybe two inches long and is attached to a short piece of 1/2 inch webbing connected to that corner of the wing, sort of like a steering toggle on a ParaFoil. The intent there being to add a bit of rigidity to the wing. Personally, while I am sure that it does help a bit, so long as you fly with a good arm position, your wings will not flap and will work as designed. It's mostly people with a poor elbow/forearm form that don't get good lift. Chuck

I was pretty disappointed when Caddilac didn't come out with the C5 derived roadster. I am sure it would have sold plenty well. When I had my last Vette, a 97 C5, I was fascinated at how much less car you got for what some dealers were charging for other stuff I was interested in; the Plymouth Prowler for example. I would still like to possibly pick one of those up on the used market, underpowered or not. Chuck

You guys are KILLING me here. Chuckie the Pinko. Or as Che said earlier: PinkmonkeyONE. UGH!

ARGH! The PAIN!

ARGH! Make it all better! If anything, make me ORANGE or BLUE! Think Pink!

I BETTER not be pink!

The Headland guys all used to work for my dad. As a matter of fact, they also got their first tandem rig and backup aircraft support from him. It's all good. As for the quality of pics on that site, I have absolutely no control. Remember, we are talking a fun "family" dropzone here. The one pic of me on there canal swooping is at least three and a half years old. FYI: B.B., the DZ chef at my dad's place, jumps an old military MT1-XX derivative converted to hand deploy. Chuck

I thought someone posted a while ago that they used a simple piece of webbing with a little dowel on the end? I thought that more prone to possibly foul with a hackey, but I am sure I read it. As it is, I, on occasion, launch and fly with my SkyFlyer wingtips in my hands, but as I do not use a pro-trac, I have no idea what benefits I gain. I am more into the acrobatics of flocking. Chuck

I generally aim for a very-tall multi-stage 270 carve, but will throw 180's if the winds are directly lined up with the course or swoop lane.
-
Those were very nice pics. It looks like old boy was concerned he might not make it out the back, though (he was carving slightly left). The MX pants are definitely tour style; right on. Chuck

Even if it isn't completely "accurate" to Craig's stringent measures, it is still an outstanding job. I know several people who are far more consistent in slow-flight on Classics than GTi's, but you definitely have more "power" for flocking moves in the larger suit. If you are really into the slow-flight techie stuff, then Craig Poxon and those guys are doing some neat tricks. Craig, who is the guy that had little toggles put on his lower wingtips so that they could hold onto them easier, like we do with SkyFlyers? Chuck

Like dave said: do it yourself.

No, I didn't fly the original 95 we have because it needed some trim adjustment and besides, they were cutting the 9-cell crossbraced planform main anyway. I will have that main as soon as it gets lines on it. Chuck
-
And you jump at Orange? Do those freaks know all that? Chuck
-
Or compare the price of it with similar gear which you locate on other sites.
-
As fast as my sport mains come out of the sky and turn, I would have a hard time tieing a toggle back up. I am also not sure I would want to land either of my small canopies straight in with the brakes stowed. No problem under a large main, but I would probably just do as someone else said: cut the other brake line and rear-riser it in from full glide. Chuck
-
These canopies exist, but until there is a big enough demand for them, or a lull in a manufacturer's sales, then they will not be brought out of prototype and into production. One example is Brian Germain's cross-braced airlock jig, and another is the Atair Onyx. Chuck

Just a marginal tangent here, but I am a complete "puffy" fanatic when it comes to nipples. Did I say that outloud?

One half of just one of the married couples on the USAPT. She and her husband, Mike, both used to jump at my dad's place when they were stationed at Fort Benning and jumping on the Silver Wings. Mike works with K.B. and the boys on the GK tandem team. Chuck
