  1. That's absolutely true. Chris made every single one of his over 800 wingsuit jumps under a crossbraced 21 cell canopy.
  2. You got that right, Jarno. It was the vision of those two people which gave each and every one of us the ability to take flight. It was that company which built a bunch of suits and took their show on the road and showed everyone that wingsuiting was NOT sport death. Nothing but love for Jari, that's for DAMN sure. Chuck
  3. Sabre2 97 with HMA lines and an RDS loaded at 1.85. Never, ever had a problem with this canopy in well over 2000 wingsuit jumps on it. chuck
  4. So funny. I did see Ben and Scotty there though. I was working in AZ.
  5. I have been skydiving for over 29 years and have been instructing for 28 of those years. If you cannot reconcile the risk in your head, then please don't bother with this sport. People die doing this. It's NOT safe. If you CAN, on the other hand, get your mind right, then come on back out and get amongst it. Chuck Blue D-12501 AFF/SL/TM-I, PRO, S&TA
  6. Really? Mine are Fox's and they are super comfortable and have lasted me nearly a decade. I paid $35 for them on the "sale" rack at a motorcycle shop on Mesa, just off the Elsinore DZ prior to the 2001 Para Performance Pro Blade meet. I have some other "Man Pris" as well, but they are not nearly as tough as my MX pants.
  7. End of September to renew all my tags and drink at the Crystal Bar!
  8. Again, I totally agree with James and the others who say you fly them differently. I have three hanging in my school and I definitely fly flat out and steer with my hips in them.
  9. that's odd.....I know plenty of people who take frequent trips to the Muff trailer and come out with calm nerves..
  10. Bird is on the DZ at Z-hills a lot these days. Milling around and being a general nuisance...LOL!
  11. I can remember several, but can't cite the dates. For example, I know of at least two wingsuit tail strikes. To be honest, one was on a Cresco, but that's the same airframe. On that one, at least, the guy was high enough that it ripped his tail wing in half. PAC's are fine DZ airplanes; you simply cannot, under any circumstances jump up on exit; particularly in a wingsuit. The rest of the discussion seems to be more about stalls. We have had a really good track record with the one we own at Raeford FWIW.
  12. The only wingsuit photos I saw from the event were of Ben Boerger and Scotty Burns. Did no one else make it there?
  13. "right tool for the job" is definitely the right idea here. SURE, people used to BASE off El Capital with round mains, but now everyone knows better. I can't imagine why anyone nowadays would fuck around with speed gliding (FKA: "groud launching" in about five people's eyes) with anything other than a real paraglider or speed wing. I can barefoot behind a jet ski and even my old 1978 Tahiti Jet Boat (with a Chevy 454), but would much rather do it behind a "proper" boat nowadays.
  14. Tony Uragallo will absolutely make you any of his suits out of ANY fabric he has in his huge loft. ALL of his original suits were ZP or F-111, or other "regular" jumpsuit fabric.
  15. You DO know that Robi will build you a suit out of "sweatbag" material don't you? Scotty Burns has one.
  16. Yuri: "the mollecules were rarified!"
  17. In this instance you are positively incorrect, Jarno. If you either cannot find (or touch) your hackey, or you cannot extract your PC then you are experiencing a TOTAL malfunction. In that instance your emergency procedure is to first locate the reserve ripcord, ARCH, then reach and pull the reserve ripcord while keeping your legwing collapsed and your armwings in. This is basic first jump course material which DOES NOT change if you have a wingsuit on. You do not cutaway during a total malfunction. At least not in the USA you don't. 18. No idea what's going on, but it looks like your rig is very crooked on your back. You need to really make sure your legstraps are tightened evenly. Even if that doesn't fix your flight problem, it will definitely fix your openings. To go faster in that little suit, duck your head and sweep your arms back just a bit. FWIW, I have three of them hanging on the rack in my school.
  19. Still there. If you are cool with a two-Cessna 182 "club-type" dropzone then you will like it there. My dad owns the dropzone.
  20. I don't know what you are doing with your legs at pull time in that S Fly, but I find those suits are easier at deployment time when you break the suit at your knees at pull time. Another thing you might consider is letting out your hand loops one or two grommets. Chuck
  21. Those moderators are assholes anyways! I hear they burnout with a vengeance and get put to pasture.
  22. Windmiller is clearly leading with his belly. Nice.
