If you are planning of doing a lot of it, get that dynamic corners kit from Morpheus and have a rigger install it for you on your Jav. It will make for much less instances of hesitation in your future winged endeavours. The kit is like fifty bucks or something.

It also looks like she is giving poor Toppo a hard time! Asaf, on the other hand, looks like he doesn't mind being squashed by the likes of BendyWendy.

Lisa is my twin sister, separated at birth. The force is in my favor in this battle, padawon.

SWEET!

No he isn't, LeRoy!

I think he has a choice of those two used canopies, Bill.

I only know one person who has biffed in because of his hand getting caught in a dive loop. Nope, that's not right. He biffed in because he was learning to do rear riser landings and mistakenly grabbed one front and one rear riser simultaneously. I don't know anyone personally outside of the CRW community who uses dive blocks for their front risers. Does that mean there are not any? Nope, but you know how many people I know, Steve, so you get the picture. Dropping a toggle during transition is more likely. That can be easily avoided by making sure at least one finger stays holding your toggle while the rest of them are diving with the loop. My toggles are fully over my palm and my pinkie finger holds them in place as I dive with my other three fingers. When I transition to rears, I grab them with those same three fingers and my thumb, while the pinkie ensures that I don't drop a toggle. Chuck

You will get a hundred people telling you to do it a hundred ways, but I have had really good luck with urethane-based paints on skydiving helmets (motorcycle beanies as well). Good surface prep is the key.

Did Shimell land out? The fucker called me drunk on Saturday night! Noice!

Kreg who? Oh, that Kreg.....Was he gone? WML?

Any reason you didn't get the dynamic corners on your EXT? Did you order it before you made your first suit flight? At any rate, it's very simple to cut the corners down. My EXT rocks and my second one is on the way. As to the spinner, shit happens. So long as you are jumping something with the possibility of spinning you up like a top in under five seconds, then you ought to stay pulling up high. Even with my Sabre2 97 in my BM rig, I still pull at 4k. Chuck

It is military equipment built under government specs and therefore there was no "issue", only an uninformed person making a command decision at the other DZ. Their business loss.

OK, another one: I'm a man with a mission, a boy with a gun. I've got a picture in my pocket of the lucky one.

That's good, because you would get banned from those forums if your language skills sucked! That said, I don't hardly ever poke my head into the womans forum either, since I am not a female. Still I steal cursory glances at the obsurd thread topics from time to time just to see what is going on in there...........

You can't take a joke huh? (Sorry SM, it had to be done) You guys are KILLING me....

POPS Question - need some ideas
SkymonkeyONE replied to mikkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually, a smarter pro-active move would be to set up a system where you could register with the organization online. I hate to admit it, but I have still not sent in for my membership, though I talked a lot of shit about "can't wait to be a POPS." Snail mail is such a hassle though, so that's my excuse. Chuck -
You people are getting off track. This is not talkback. I don't mind a bit of levity, but I am not going to tollerate any hijackings in the specified forums. Chuck
-
that or your canopy is out of trim, or there are twists in your brake lines.
-
Well if that were the case then all those who regularly post here who have ZERO skydives would not be reading this, right? The best part of this site is definitely not talkback.

Libertarian. I voted for Ed Clark in two elections and I don't give a shit if people think it was a "wasted vote." If enough people thought that their individual vote made a difference, then maybe we would not be stuck with only two choices. Hey, a fucking professional wrestler was voted the Governor of the state in Minnesota as an independent because the people of that state thought both "real" candidates SUCKED. I say vote your mind and screw the lemming attitude. Given only two choices, I will vote Republican, but as I do have other choices, I will always vote from the heart, no matter how ridiculous that seems to people who follow party lines. Chuck

Reason to get a Coach Rating?
SkymonkeyONE replied to desertsky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Seriously? Assuming US dropzones here: I don't know of a single non-USPA dropzone that does not require their instructors to be USPA rated. I also can't think of a single one that doesn't follow some form of "standard" instruction program like the ones used at USPA group member dropzones. True "outlaw" operations generally do not exist for long. Chuck -
A Quasar II has "square" corners IIRC. The bottom of the rig is square; not overlapped like a Mirage, Wings, VooDoo, etc. If you simply cut the corners down and pack the "standard" way, with your lines to the bottom of the container, then you will likely see your lines hanging out. Packing pin to grommet will keep it tidier, but it will get sloppier and sloppier as you use the rig without that mod. If you do not get the Morpheus mod, then I would not cut the corners all the way to the bottom. The Mod that Morpheus does adds two pieces of material, stiffened so that when you close the rig the mod folds in on itself and contains the deployment bag and lines. Once again, go over to Raeford and look at LeRoy's. Others on here who have that mod (on Javelins; very similar corners) are KimGriffin and Vladi Pesa. Chuck

I would agree with that interpretation.

ASC has a "proper" swoop pond. It can be a bit muddy on the exits at times, but it's a PST sized diamond. The setup is a bit odd if you approach from one side, but it's nice. The plus side to this is that it keeps the swoopers, like me, on the other side of the road from the "regular" jumpers and the students. There is never any major traffic problem over the pond, so you ought to like that. As an experienced skydiver I don't give a shit about any DZ politics so long as they don't affect me. There is a lot of work there for AFF-I's, TM's and vidiots as well. I am moving to GA in January and will be working out of Monroe due to it's closer proximity to Augusta. Thomaston is way south of ATL; actually nearer to Macon. I like the DZ alright, but it would be a tremendous haul from the north side of ATL. Chuck
