  1. We need a minimum of three BM-I candidates at one location in order to run a BM-I course. Not a big deal at all really.
  2. Tell my little Gilli-bean that Katie and I are loving her a second time.
  3. I would have to go outside to check, but I am pretty damn sure I have at least "gear checked OK" markings from at least five different dropzones.
  4. Keith, it's for that reason that we keep a box of old skippies in all sizes in the student gear room for people that show up with crappy shoe choices.
  5. As a professional, full-time instructor, I can tell you that I will take as long a time as is needed to get someone back with the program. Some of the gear has changed in eleven years, but for the most part it's pretty much the same. That said, I go right down the sylabus and continue to the next part just as fast as the person can parrot the right answers back to me. I recently took one of my dad's friends on a "recurrency" jump after a bit over 20 years without jumping. He had over 1000 skydives and was a former style and accuracy champion, yet had never jumped a square parachute in his life. I had him in the air in under two hours on a very-modified Cat D AFF (he did practice pulls correctly the first time, then we turned points till pull time, then he pulled flawlessly as expected). This person then proceded to put this never-before jumped Navigator 240 right on the accuracy tuffet. This guy was the exception, clearly, as he had not skipped a beat in over 20 years. Conversely, I have had complete morons who had only gone two months out of currency who caused me to waste seven hours on their retraining. Bottom line here is that you go as fast, or as slow, as it takes to get the job done. Peace, Chuck Blue D-12501 AFF/SL/TM-I, BMCI, PRO, S&TA
  6. I don't let students jump in army boots, or any other lugged sole boot for that matter. Athletic shoes are a far better choice. Use high-top athletic shoes if you are concerned about ankle support. Shoes with a sole which will slide across the ground on a downwinder are much better than something with a lug sole which is likely to dig in and stick.
  7. On my Sabre2 97 (wingsuit main), I throw my usual steep diving 270, but lower than I do on my Velo. I generally throw my turn on the Sabre2 at around 500 feet.
  8. None of the three have yet to accomplish the feat. One has been right at the "prepared for liftoff" stage, but was thwarted by winds the first time, then both winds and equipment problems the second. That was Micheal Fornier, who was making his attempts from Sask. Canada Chuck
  9. Actually, the jumpsuit company EFS was originally known, and later known after they moved from North Carolina out west, as Elite Flight Systems.
  10. I have over 350 flights, but have been jumping wingsuits since 2000.
  11. Clint, JC, and Jim were just at SkyQuest; no sign of Luis.
  12. My suits are pretty beat up (even my S3), but I attribute that to excessive use. I washed my S3 two times this season. The only thing that looks like it gets beat up a bit in the wash is the mesh inlets.
  13. Yes, plenty. One from Finland, one from Sweden, at least one from Canada, one from Hollister, CA, two from Z-hills, and one Austrian currently living in Spain who is really looking for an American skydiver girl. The real info ought to be out on the BirdMan website this week. The course was great fun to run. Me, Scott, and Asaf taught the course (our BMCI evaluation; we are "official" now) and Jari and Kim Griffin were there for oversight and evaluation purposes, plus the intro. I think the course ran fine, even though this was a nearly total revamp of the program. Chuck
  14. What? Nobody is wanting Alex? His naked pictures are posted in the "naked" gallery on the main page.
  15. Yesterday, Tamer was busy eating Teppo's shoes. Good thing he pulled at 6k
  16. Unless Alex fucks up incredibly, he will be a BM-I by the end of the day. Are you wanting him now? I could not believe that it was the same person, but, in fact, the whole thread was a farce. Incredibly funny.... I will post another naked picture of Alex later today.
  17. Beyond the linesets and the removable sliders and deployment bags, the PD guys are all jumping stock canopies in competition.
  18. Well I can answer the "where is the future of swooping going" question: Freestyle. The next meet is a pro freestyle meet at Perris. New and exciting moves are now being practiced by the big dogs in prep for that meet. Moves such and the lazy-boy and the switchblade. A preview of that stuff could have been seen at SkyQuest, or even earlier, at Panama City and last years PSN.
  19. Mister Walls, the first coctail is on me at Eloy. I am dieing here. Oh wait, no I am not. Still, I owe you a drink for the shirt you sent me. As to you others: post on, but don't bitch when we call you out on your perpetration. This doesn't mean that I/we don't like you; it just means that some of you need a reality check from time to time. This site is a great place to meet like-minded individuals, so carry on. 20. Tamer was busy eating shoes in freefall and taking right hand grips with his right hand to make any real contributions to the forums today; the poor boy. He was just lucky that I was here to keep him straight today in Deland. Peace, Chuck
  21. I disagree. Cease the promotion of your private venture in the specified forums. While yours is a noble venture, it is clearly a "for profit" deal. If it's not, feel free to send the original poster a free copy of your book. Enough, Chuck
