Based on all the posts you girls have made
SkymonkeyONE replied to TribalTalon's topic in The Bonfire
Well it's obvious why you're single. All the girls I know want to get drunk and swim naked in the swoop pond. I agree. You self-respecting skyhag is gonna want a dude that doesn't party. -
What is it with customer service nowadays???
SkymonkeyONE replied to NoShitThereIWas's topic in The Bonfire
All you have to do to get ahold of a "real" person on the #2 connection is press the number to hear options in english, then when the automated voice asks how it may help you, simply say: "I would like to speak to a human being." This will immediately prompt you to the que for actual customer service folks. I just got through to them in under two minutes while standing in The Perfect Spot at DeLand. This, so that I could change to the 7:00 pm evening deal. Chuck -

How much do AFF instructors get paid?
SkymonkeyONE replied to Hazarrd's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I get paid $35 per person (up to five before I have to use an assistant instructor) to teach a ground course. I get paid $30 (either side) do do AFF. My own packjob is free if I am working. I get paid $5 to pack student rigs. Generally, if we are not swamped, I am gonna pack that student main. Chuck AFF/TM/SL/BM-I -

One difference in design between Sfly & Birdman
SkymonkeyONE replied to TALONSKY's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Scott Campos has jumped both and has written a review of the Matter and his comparison to BirdMan products. It's here in the wingsuit forum, so just do a search. -
Downsizing keeps you Sharp!
SkymonkeyONE replied to NewClearSports's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I was jumping those smaller parachutes because I was a test jumper and sponsored team member for the company that was producing the canopies. In doing so I was testing the limits of their performance as it relates to performance swooping and general handling. The wings were totally safe, yet I found that my ability to get any distance out of that planform diminished very quickly at those smaller sizes and at my wingload. It was in that testing and evaluation context that I was jumping those mains. I competed for two years under one of that company's 75's. When I went back to PD, I "thought" that the Velocity 75 would have been my best competition wing, but it was not. The next larger size, the 79 worked better. As it was the largest of my two Velo's, that is the one I compete under now. The smaller canopy was incredibly fast, but the payoff at the end was not enough to warrant the increased care needed to safely nagigate that canopy through a sky full of student traffic and gumby impersonators. I sent that 75 back and had them send me a Sabre2 97 for the times when I just don't need to be jumping my Velo. Chuck -
That's fantastic. A huge posse of people in the same suit means that you will have a much easier time matching "soar rates." By the way, I just coined that term, so don't any of you chimps go and try to copyright it! Chuckie

SkymonkeyONE replied to TALONSKY's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I thought either you or Steve had ordered an S-fly just for shits and grins. -
Actually, I totally answered his question.

No, but we don't neccessarily have to feed information to anyone with blank profiles who we, as individuals, suspect as having ulterior motives. This was the first post by the individual, so I sent them a PM asking what their deal is. There is no requirement to fill in any of that information, but people should not get upset if they get scoffed at on these boards should they try to intentionally mislead others by either not filling in the information or providing "other than factual or complete" information.

Is that a joke? It must be.

In what country? Are you a skydiver? If so, look in your national skydiving publication and see what those license numbers are up to. Those numbers, by category, are the number of people who have earned each license. Does this mean that all are still skydiving? Absolutely not, but I am not sure there is any way a "citizen" can access the information on how many dues-paying current members of the USPA (or your nation's skydiving governing body) hold what license. Even if you had that, I doubt that you could find out how many of those dues-paying members are still active. Chuck

Let me get this straight....You and some friends just up and ordered 18 suits? Nice.

A brilliant job, John. Oh, and I was only saying who Greg was so that people would understand where he is coming from (since he doesn't really say in his profile). Neither he nor I would call a qualified PRO rated tandem instructor/demonstrator as lacking in common sense for doing that jump. Hell, I would do it and I know for sure that he would/could do it as well. The paperwork drill required to perform different demonstrations is fascinating to me. Every FSDO seems to have a different stance about certain acts and or locations. Thankfully, I have only seldomly been saddled with the NOTAM and paperwork hassle on shows. I am MUCH happier just being the monkey pulling the strings and stomping the target. Randy would like that. For that matter, so would Paige...

Making a model and showing it to someone is not going to change the mind of a head-strong DZO. Raeford put's freeflyers out first unless there is a bigway on board. While I didn't like it for a number of reasons, it does, in my opinion, make for less traffic in the landing pattern. Having the faster-falling freeflyers open and well below me when I was doing RW or working with students made for much less congestion. Chuck

Nothing to do with SSK. Do a search in this forum and you will find all the info you need. I just saw a personally owned Sigma tandem system with a Vigil on it, so I know for a fact that they are available, at least on a limited level. Kim told me at SkyQuest that the first delivery of ten production units was to be delivered to DeLand right away. I have not talked to her this week to see what's up, but I am sure she will answer up today here on the boards and give you all an update. Chuck
