  1. I will not be there (since I live in NC), but I have to agree with J. If he is there it could not possibly suck.
  2. I am very careful pulling mine off. I am EXTREMELY carefull when I am running full RDS. I have seen at least two people drop theirs in meets.
  3. You might try e-mailing Fruitcake in Eloy.
  4. Huh? No, not at all. I have no idea what they are doing with the photos that they might have taken, but I am sure all of the other guys there will post stuff when they sort through it all. On that note though, I have been to several swoop competitions where the organizers refused to let competitors and spectators take photos and shoot video. That was so they could, themselves, market the end product. To try and do something like that at Z-hills would be laughable. There ought to be some really good photos with as many camera guys as we had zooming around. It was serious video overkill in my opinion. Chuck
  5. Canon City is not "west" of the springs. It's southwest by quite a margin. South to the cesspool known as Pueblo and then west actually. chuck
  6. The only jumping going on in the DR is at Base Area San Isidro (San Isidro Airbase) just outside Santo Domingo by the special forces guys stationed there. It's been quite some time now, but there used to be a civilian operation (a tandem mill) up on the north coast not far from Puerto Plata. It was run by a German guy who used to do a lot of head-down tandems and was pretty notorious for blowing up drogues. Too bad it closed, it's a really nice place. Winds up north are generally howling though. That's, seriously, the best place in the world to windsurf according to most sources. I made a bunch of jumps down at San Isidro in 1998 during Las Dias de la Independencia and the 50th anniversary of the Fuerza Area. Of course that was on Uncle Sam's dime when I was on active duty. 7. Oh, that's VERY funny, Spence! I will make sure that Dominic ends up with the keys to your cart next time!
  8. I'm sure there will be a ton of people there!
  9. People that attended ZFlock .... post pics please. Kris. Sorry Kris, but there were no cameras or video allowed at Z-flock.
  10. We still have two Otters at Raeford, as well as the PAC. We got the PAC for those days when you just can seem to scrape 12 people together during the week and other slow days. There could be eight guys sitting there all day refusing to jump the Cessna, so this is the fix. Ours is the first one off the new Canadian production line. We own this aircraft, not lease it. Chuck
  11. It took me an amazing amount of time to cull the one-liners out of this thread; I don't appreciate that kind of stuff. Please remember that this is a topical forum. If you have any real input, then feel free to add it.
  12. Not sure what bad experiences people are referencing taking removeable-slider-equipped rigs to terminal, but I have never had any. My swoop rig is also my AFF and "everything-but-wingsuit" rig and it goes to terminal on almost every skydive. I am seriously contemplating putting one on my wingsuit rig as well (Sabre2 97) just so I can have a cleaner view under canopy with video on. It's definitely a better option than the slider tits I currently have on that rig. Chuck
  13. That's not accurate. I have been jumping the old "tape with grommets" for two years with zero mals, but I JUST finally got metal rings from Joe so I know he has them. Chuck
  14. Like Beezy said, the irony of his tattoos was that he had no idea what they symbolized. It's a purely satirical production at this person (Jessco's), expense.
  15. I met Jenn at Z-hills this weekend and I have to tell you that she is a really nice lady. It's not every "grown" woman that can boast that she was on at least three 40-way wingsuit dives. Chuck
  16. 0:17:0 I had fun at Z-hills for the Flock and Dock event and no, I never landed off the dropzone.
  17. The man who owned and operated the company died a couple of years ago. He was a really nice guy and he sold quite a few canopies in Georgia and NC. I believe the Fort Bragg Parachute Club still has quite a few student rigs with his mains in them. I am uncertain whether the company still operates or not. Chuck
  18. Well, even after making two flights yesterday before I finally pulled pitch and decided to leave, I managed to arrive safely home on the bike just before midnight. It was a long, fast ride, but the weather was really nice. I did the ride back to NC, including gas stops and one chow stop, in about ten hours this time. In total, I made 17 flights from Thursday till yesterday. It was flock-a-dilly-icious. I was very happy at the degree of competence exhibited by the majority of the event-goers. There were still a good number of people washing around in slot, but much, much fewer "zoomies" than past events. The only chop I saw all weekend was Perry's. The only suit I saw destroyed on a jump was Perry's. There were out landings, but no injuries as a result of those that I can recall. The wind was indeed honking on most occasions, but I don't feel too bad about that. At least we didn't get rained out. It definitely paid to get up early and be on first loads before the wind got too bad. I had a really good time hanging out and jumping with the Texas Posse. I will count Zach as a member of that group as well, even though he doesn't live there and is in fact a yankee. Very solid flyers, always quick to their slot and setting the example. Voodew's smoke brackets are great! I am pretty sure he sold every left-foot one he had and took orders for several more. Definitely much nicer than the one I have burried in a gear bag somewhere. That is all for now. Chuck
  19. It's a really neat suit. Robi let at least one guy jump it repeatedly (Professor). Different material on the leading edge of the wings than a V1, Phantom-type air inlets on the arm wings. The suit made good sense to me for what it's designed for (performance). Chuck
  20. I have seen all of the Jessco stuff and you're right; I was laughing my ass off. It DOES, however, take a keen wit to understand. Along the same lines as the "Okie Noodling" DVD. Chuck
  21. My fourth flock of the day is on a 20 minute call! Hell, I didn't get here till right after 1:00 PM either! We just did a 11 way and the event doesn't even start till tomorrow. Chuck
  22. Who knows at this point, but it's a BUNCH of motherfuckers! Nice! I am packing my gear right now and will be leaving North Carolina within two hours. My current plan, since it's so nice out, is to ride my bike down (2001 HD Road Glide). I ought to be on the DZ early tomorrow morning. See you all VERY soon, Chuck
  23. I will be arriving very-late Wednesday night, but do not intend to swoop in any competition. I will be there for the wingsuit big-ways. You can, however, witness me swooping the fuck out of the pond on every load under my Sabre2. I may bring my "real" swoop rig for shits and grins, but doubt I will have any time to jump it. Chuck
  24. I hope everyone else is as stoked as I am. This is going to be a hoot.
