    Not to get this debate going again....but... I'm very surprised how many experienced (read over 1000 jumps) skydivers loosen the chest strap before releasing the brakes. I guess habits are tough to break. Losers make excuses, Winners make it happen God is Good Beer is Great Swoopers are crazy.

    I don't think 1.3 is Darwinian. I was over 1.3 under 100 jumps. 1.3 is just a #. Until we see this person fly we really can't judge. Some people can probably fly that just fine.     You have to admit that after 3000+ jumps and 11 years...Q was doing something right. One of the first quotes I learned in skydiving: There are two types of skydivers - those that have had malfunctions and those that will. And for those that think you could never pack a "such an easy" malfunction...it happens.     Q - congrats! I was there when it happened but wasn't part of the discussion of what went wrong. I heard the term step-through thrown out but the pictures and description wouldn't support a "standard" step through. Almost sounds like a half step through. Like the harness was flipped between the front and back of one side of the risers. How this wouldn't be caught during packing I haven't a clue. Close?     D license holders (200 + jumps) were "downsizing" to a "fast" sabre 190. ok, so not as far back as some of the others. Losers make excuses, Winners make it happen God is Good Beer is Great Swoopers are crazy.

    I wouldn't jump a xf2 below a WL of 1.4. Look at what the mfg. recommends for that canopy, or any canopy really, before purchasing. You can learn more from a sabre -ish type canopy at that WL. *Disclaimer* - Talk to someone who knows what they hell they are talking about. I'm not the best person in the world to give out canopy advice.

    Its all about balance my friend. Its OK to have non-jumping friends but don't alienate them by talking skydiving all the time. Talk skydiving with your skydiving friends ( we all talk about skydiving more than we should outside of skydiving...it just happens.) When your skydiving buddies start telling you to jump more and your non-skydiving buddies tell you to stop jumping so much...you probably have the balance just about right .     I had the camera back in about 10 business days. They cleaned it up to the point the only way I new it was mine was the serial number stayed the same. They took care of all the scratches (damn PAC 750). I borrowed a buddy's camera for the time it was gone so it worked out well.     Just an update - Sent my Cannon back to the factory in SoCal. It cost me about 180 bucks labor and some shipping charges. The had to fix the PCB - (Power Control Board ?). It came back with a 6-month warranty. Worth it? Well if I don't have anymore problems with it, definitely. Losers make excuses, Winners make it happen God is Good Beer is Great Swoopers are crazy.

    Hey all. Any updates on the issues? I've cleaned my lens contacts and have not had a problem on the ground (without the tongue switch). I can't replicate the problem I had last weekend.     I emailed canon with a description of what I was experiencing and they told me (via email) to send it to their repair shop. It was kind of a generic response so I'm not sure if they really understand what was going on. Anyway...since i've cleaned the lens contacts i'll see if I can get the problem to repeat.     Stacey, Have you gotten a Err 99 code? During the issues I described this weekend I received this error code once. The O&M for the camera describes this issue as a problem between the lens and camera. I took my lens (canon 18-55mm) off and cleaned the small gold contacts. This happened to a buddy of mine and when he changed lens the problem went away. Try cleaning your lens contacts.     Matt, Pressing the button does nothing for me either. It completely freezes up. I'll look into the powersave mode but I suspect that is not the issue. My firmware is the latest version. I have also been advised to clean my lens contacts which I did this morning. Not sure what else I can do at this point.
