My Exp - 1700 Jumps (Stilleto / Vengeance / Velocity) My Weight - 175 Ilbs I jumped the 90 / 94 and 99 Opening - Was the most perfect openings that I have had from any of the higher performance canopies...pain free...on heading...end of story Flight - very stable...precise...ultra responsive...turns faster than anything I have jumped before...toggle pressure was fairly light...big harness turns very easy...the canopys did not appear to be ground hungry in normal...toggle up flight Landing....my approaches were straight in...toogles up to get an idea of what power was availible in the flare...the canopy planned out ok...with a big long surf...with enough power at the end to lift at the end I would highly recomend anyone who has exp on the faster canopies to demo one....I was surprised / shocked that these canopies are not crossbraced / vented from the way that they handled...I take my hat off to aerodyne for making this

my local DZ has a copy of the vid...it gets used as part of the ' education' for potential Tandem instructors. when i did my tandem rating (UK) it was shown along with other vids as part of the course As for getting a copy....I'll ask ...cant gaurentee it though Im also pretty sure theres quite a few copies of this around the world....it has to be of the few incidents thats caught on vid from exit to impact...both in air and from the ground.. I have to add that this vid is one that i will happily never watch again

Craig Also seen the vid of this incident.....the list of things this guy done wrong is quite extensive... student not attached while he despatched student very loose when attached no goggles he pulled every handle...nnot in sequence if i remember correctly...the only handle he didnt pull was the reserve..! he also had a pull on a few bits of harness webbing as well like you said this guy was a tosser ...and unfort he took someone else with him.. can get more detail if you require it flipper

Dudes this to me is a real interestin thread.... i have around 25 suit jumps all on the Gti....I thought long and hard about the main i was gonna use ... In the end i worked out that i just couldnt use my vengeance for the suit thing I went down the route of getting another rig that lives attached to my suit.....using a sabre has given me nothing but good on heading openings ....taking a whole heap of worry out of the first jumps i did on the suit.... flipper

Thankz for the info.....you have all been very helpful.... regardz Flipper

Ive done around 25 on my GTI with no hassle...with no mods to the rig....do you think the 11 foot bridle makes a difference ?

This has no doubt been asked before...for this I apologise.. I am currently jumping a sabre 150 / PD 143 wrapped up in a vector container....I have no probz with Vector containers...its just lookin a bit shabby and would like to update.... What do you guys jump and why...also how many times you have suffered line twists during winged flight any help / advice that you guys can offer would be very cool thankz Flipper

hey nick.... hows it going...? Flipper

in my opinion there are two reasons... 1. Fashion - you get a small main...you need a small container...therefore you need a small reserve 2. Ignorance - ! I think this falls into the same area as the small verses big 3 rings..... large 3 rings offer less pullforce to chop than the smaller rings....why would you want a harder time chopin...?...is it because small 3 rings look better..? flipper

Dear Mr. Unstable, I have a tempo 150...appx 4 years old I am of similer weight I have used my tempo 150 twice it didnt blow up on opening...not even a little bit it flew well...felt like a slow student canopy it landed well...ie I pulled the toggles and it flared hope this is of help flipper

anybody out there used the new vladiball ...? if you have any pro's and cons....? flipper

Hi Ive got around 350ish tandems....so im far from being expierenced.... I'm also strong rated.....in the 350 odd jumps I've had to chop twice....number 1 was broken lines on opening (mastermain 425) and number 2 was a blow up job....lots of lines broken, cells blown/torn...(set400) and a real unfrendly chute above my head... so got rid of it.. I agree the strong system dosnt look that good but i have found it to be ok...apart from the above it behaves itself...Never had any hassle from the reserve....in fact the reserves fly better than the mains just my 2 cents worth flipper

right there with you on the quietness and the plane just staying there....one of my mates stayed in the plane to watch me go....i could see him just sitting there in the door laughing his head off....until he realized that he had gone way to deep..... flipper

Dudes.....thanks for the tips...i just wish that it was the weekend so I could be doing it all again.... think freeflying will be left behind ....but I still gotta do the tandem thing...it pays the rent yeah i agree on my 1st jump i really seemed to be scooting across the landscape....with the second jump being more of a hanging on up there type thing.. its so refreshing to find something so good .... flipper

I did the training ...I got the suit...I did the jump Ive wanted to do the birdman thing for a while now...and have eventually done it....man it is the best thing ever....nothing can describe it.... the suit I used was the GTi version...which leads me to a couple of questions.... is there a big difference between the classic and the GTi...? I can see that the skyflyer is visibly bigger in the wing department...Ive ordered a GTi ...but am now wondering if i should have ordered the skyflyer...what do you all think... my seconed jump from 9.5K to opening at 6.5K....for the 3 thousand feet of freefal i got 37 seconds in the air and a fallrate of 55 mph....is this good / poor / crap ????? Ive got around 1350 jumps..mostly freefly..80%...tandems 20% .and use a sabre 150 for this type of jump....openings have been good.. any body got any tips on improving time in the air...please let me know..? man I love this stuff ! Hi done about 300 tandems in the last 18 months.. to daye ive had 2 mals...first was broken A lines and a distorted not keen to fly chute as a result....2nd was a very hard opening that blew a cell and broke more lines than i cared to count at the time both of these incidents were put down to packing ! best thing ive worked out is that shit does happen and be prepaird for it...know your equipment ...know your reserve drills and know your packer flipper

I did 900 jumps on a stiletto 120, cant really fault the thing at all....had 2 mals on it, number one was a break locked on type thing....number two was spinning on opening....on both occasions....i didnt fuck around...just checked out the situation and chopped.. i think out of the900 or so jumps the thing had twists maybe a dozen times...so i found that you could get the twists out no problemo i reckon that its a real good canopy that everypne should jump when there experience level is correct flipper

hi dosnt work for me...if i do loads of tandems for a few weeks then go back to my Veng 120...im eatin dirt... still i'm not jumping any of the newer tandem canopies ...im on a set400 or mastermain 425... I've seen some of the newer tandem chutes and can see that they are closer to the faster solo chutes and can see how the guys flying them stay current for the faster stuff flipper

Hi done lots of H'n'Ps on vengeance 107/120 and stiletto 120....never had any hassle....deploy stable and it'll be cool.. Lowest exit was on the Veng 107 at 1700 ft...A/craft hassle...usual exit and pull...no probz flipper

Glove camera for tandem instructors?
flipper replied to ernokaikkonen's topic in Safety and Training
Hi I wouldnt use the glove cam ...in my exp. (250ish tandems) I tend to consentrate myself on whats going on during the dive and keeping myself and student alive and leave the video to the video men ive had 2 mals ( one broken lines and the other was a blown up canopy on opening) so be honest i had enough to do without worrying about removing a camera from my hand before pulling handles flipper -
My exp : 850 jumps on stiletto 120 before i bought the veng 120 i did around 30 jumps on the 107. i found the 107 to open better than the stiletto 120 slightly faster but more positive, in flight the canopy handles very stiletto like...thats the best way to describe it. At landing time I found there to lots of lift with a change in swoop direction to be very easy to do. I bought the 120 because i found the 107 to be faster than i needed. i find the 120 to be as per the 107 only just a little bit slower now there is some discussion as to whether the airlocks will cut out the turbulence hassle...I cant really comment on whether they do or not but i can say that the chute feels more solid than the stiletto 120 with no concertina effect I have found the chute requires rear riser control as soon as its opened to keep it on heading front riser input is easier than a stiletto...less pressure and it stays in the dive alot longer as well ...so if your gonna hook it...do it higher (a lot) hope this info is of help flipper

Hi do some jumps on the a/locked chutes and see if you like them ...plain and simple. i dont think for a minute that they will offer any more protection against turbulence than a normal chute my exp. of them is about 30 jumps on a Veng. 107 and 5/6 on my new Veng. 120 it opens and flys really well, because there fairly solid compared to my stiletto 120 you can feel little bumps of turb. more as for colapsing the chute after landing...i havnt had a hassle with it, even in higher winds flipper
