  1. It is a toss up between my old PISA Hornet... and the old Monarch. My hornet opened occasionally (OK more than occasionally) in 200 feet. I nick named it the WHOOOOOOOORENNNNNETTTT. I would spend the time regaining conciousness by cursing the canopy. Maybe a Monnnnnarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrcchhhhhhh. In all seriousness my first canopy, Pilot 168, was one of the best opening canopies that I could recommend for a beginner / intermediate canopy pilot. At lower loadings it does so many things so damn well! Opened so soft and like a dream, but unlike other soft openers it had a reasonable snivel. Very stable in deep brakes, floated back like a ballon. Stable in line twists. Great great canopy! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  2. I work from home occasionally. I could do it much more often if I wanted to. As everyone else said there are less distractions from your workmates, but it also take more discipline to put in a full days work without interruptions. Having a dedicated office space really helps. That has been the main reason I haven't been working from home more often. But now we are moving bedrooms and moving one of my girlfriend's daughters into the finished basement, so I get my office space. I have really been lacking a nice big desk to get stuff done! 3. The Shah threads really bring people together around here! Shah have you considered that you are inviting all of this with these scapegoating posts where you just refuse to consider your responsibility for your situation. See you again next week? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. He is talking about the reality surrounding voter mentality, he didn't say that they were responsible for the current economic condition, just that they will be held responsible. There is a difference! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. If tracking got you back than you couldn't have been that far off. The glide of even the best trackers doesn't come close to a open canopy. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  6. Where did the Duck's reply go? We have plenty of tittle baiting on both sides around here! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. Vocal athiests are just as bad as the vocal religious. The common denominator is people that think they are more important than the really are, and never learned to shut the fuck up and mind their own business. This post is a perfect example!!!! What the hell does the religious heartland in the US have to do with you given your location? I was raised Catholic but choose not to practice. I have Muslim friends, Jewish friends, Hindu friends, athiest friends. I don't recall having any issues with other religions, or religion jammed down my throught. Sorry! That being said, you really had to check in your pants to confirm the validity of my statement??!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. Oh yeah??? A thorn in their sides, your lawyer is going to get THEM, sounds like more of the same bullshit! It sounds so official, and likely! I called my divorce attorney... he is going to show those bankers... they are going downnnnnnnnn. Do you really believe the stuff you post? Are you going to sue them for allowing you to be part of the bubble problem. They shouldn't have let you buy a house, you weren't qualified! You guys charged me an extra service charge, I AM SUING YOU! This sounds like that South Park episode, only less entertaining, waaaaaaay less. I predict the next thread to be about how much the lawyer wants to go after the bankers. "That dirtbag Lawyer, he wants a 5K dollar retainer to go after the bankers for my 3K closing costs. After all the Federal education loans we gave to lawyers he should represent me for free. Do you know how much money lawyers make, and the rates they get on their school loans. Sniffle sniffle grumble grumble" "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

have you considered Solar panels on the roof for power. I have them and i end up getting money BACK from the power company (granted I live in OZ were the sun is always out). but you will get a very significant reduction in the power company bills. \ With only 900 bucks in power consumption a year she is going to have an awfully long payback period on solar panels. The investment would be better spent elsewhere! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. I am just about done with this threads. Get some cheese to go with your whine Shah! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  12. But he has a 800 point credit score!!! The banks should be fighting and clawing each other over his undersea grotto! This shit is downright unAmerican!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. You were in the right??? Do you really think there was virtue in the business contact that you and your exwife entered into with the bank? You didn't cure cancer Shah, you swaped consideration with the bank, something for something, and you executed a contract. And if you were so right, where was your 20% down that would have insulated you against the drop in value that you experinced. An 80/20 loan Shah, when you had the cash for the down payment!!!! You used an exotic loan product, just like plenty of other people that got wet when the bubble popped! Do you think because you had a great credit score you were somehow better qualified to be a homeowner?? The facts of your situation, and your constant bitching and moaning about your mortgage do way more to counter that position, than you credit score has done to support it. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Shah you don't get a single thing! The more you post the more you reinforce this fact. How many more mortgage and banker posts do you need to make before you can feel better about your piss poor choices? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. More excelent uses of our tax dollars. Hurry up with that federal wealth tax so we can build this sucker! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. A court order between you and your ex wife. It has nothing to do with the bank. The bank is not a party to your divorce and wasn't a party to your marriage. The judge has no standing to enforce the order against the bank. The order is for you and you only, get it done and stop blaming the bank about it. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. It isn't theivery. You are asking them to do something they are not compelled to do. You are asking the bank to modify a contract that you agreed to! If you don't want to pay 3K don't have them take your ex off the mortgage. Tell the judge you can't refinance, and if your ex wants off she can pony up the transaction costs. The mortgage was between you, your ex, and the bank. The bank has no further responsibility other than servicing your mortgage per the terms that you originally agreed to. Further more it doesn't matter what paper trail you have that you were the sole responsible party. If that was the case you should have taken the mortgage out in your name only. Again, your divorce has nothing to do with the bank, and has nothing to do with the original terms of your mortgage. What you describe as a simple batch of paperwork is a serious modification to a contract that is already executed. You are the party that wants the change, so pay up! I am suprised this is such a hard concept for a MBA student! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. The IRS can and will assess tax on the remaining balance of your loan. Cancelation of debt income. That is what the IRS can due. The bank can and hopefully will sue you, for deliberately breaking a contract that you made, and that you are in a position to make good on. Too bad you will probably be sheltered from this by all of the other home owners who lost their jobs and CAN'T pay their mortgage. Which of course is a huge difference from some one who CAN pay their mortgage but won't. The banks just can't keep up, but your strategic default would be deserving of a judgement against you, and wage garnishment. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. No I don't really think that, but the alternate uses don't have much use for Shah either. I don't think he plans on being a viable tenant after he walks away from his current mortgage. And it shouldn't matter that possible employers will check his credit score after he finishes his MBA, why would they care about that right? And does it really matter, this is just version 5.0 of the same thread that has already been gone over again and again. Shah made bad choices, fell on bad luck, but it makes him feel better to trash the bankers than to be realistic about his situation. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. Why do you care about your credit score. It is only relevant to people who want to engage consumer lending with the banks, something you obviously want to free yourself from! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. What a suprise, more crying about the TARP that the banks paid back. And even if they didn't pay it back what the hell does TARP have to do with your mortgage and your divorce. Absolutely nothing!!!! Send the keys back for Christ sake. Maybe then we can move on to the next round of bitching and scapegoating. "Maaaaaaaaaan those damn IRS agents, making me claim the default of my mortgage as COD income. Waaaaaaa waaaaaaa." "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  22. Then don't do it, or find another bank!!! Or better yet, keep enough cash in your wallet so you don't have to be one of the debit card zombies. If you keep checking your balance on other banks ATMs and incurring a fee, or if you really need this service and yet you keep your same bank, then I really have to wonder... wtf??? As in wtf is this guy thinking!!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. Why would your threads deserve further functional responses? How many times do we have to rehash that you made a bad financial choice and now you are sore about it. The bankers aren't your Dracula, the bankers are your scapegoat. They enabled you to do exactly what you wanted at the time, by a house with your wife with no money down. Why not, look at the housing market it is going gangbusters. Hell not only did you not put money down, you then sunk money into the house in upgrades. The banks are not thriving, the FDIC would be happy to dispute this fact with you. And since your bitching seems center around mortgages and consumer lending let me point out that banks are not making record profits in their mortgage segment, they are getting slaughtered by foreclosures! You had an existing mortgage with the bank that was setup with you and your ex wife as parties to the transaction. Now you need to take your exwife of the mortgage. That wasn't part of the original deal with the bank. The bank has nothing to do with your divorce, your court order, or anything else. You want to change the terms of your original deal, they should do this for free? Be glad the bank is removing your ex wife in the first place. They have no obligation to do so. They could, and quite rightly, tell you to refinance the loan in order to get her off the mortgage, and to pound sand otherwise. Further more you were free to shop around and find another lended to refinance your for less closing costs and that would have had removed your ex from the loan. I full expect you plan to move to cash and barter going forward. No credit cards, no loans for future purchases, no checking accounts and ATM cards. Don't want to use any of the modern conviences brought by the nazi Dracula bankers! Right? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  24. More sniviling about bankers huh? Maybe you should get Dreamdancer as a roommate. It will bring your costs down, and you can both bemoan the bankers all day. Noooooooooooooooooooooo buddddddddddy knoooooooooowsssss the troubbblllllllleeee I've seeeeeeeeeeeen. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  25. I agree, I don't think they can, at least not fully. That being said if you have such strong convictions on something you can find a way support it to some degree, as you pointed out. Lets face it, most dropzones don't even provide their "contractors" workers compensation insurance. Many walk a real fine line when they classify their staff as contractors in the first place. Getting back to the user fees. Who currently pays the majority of the fuel taxes that fund the FAA? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
