Bullshit, no you don't. You would suck if you pushed your comfort level and god forbid had to chase your kids around on crutches for the next month. I don't dear heights, I fear the sudden stop and splat at the end of the fall. A lot of those questions would be best anwsered by the dropzone you intend to go to. They can tell you all about the skydive, the risks involved, and the saftey precautions that are taken to help mitigate those risks. They should be willing to to discuss any accidents that they have had, and explain what they learned or changed as a result. Try to keep in mind that this isn't jogging... Ok, so if the uppers are cranking at 40mph, and giving the proper delay between groups means that half the otter load lands off field in an area with poor outs we should ............ Fill in the blank for me please, because I think it is better to give proper seperation. In my way way limited experince the only time some one was yelling at me to get out of the door, they wanted me to get out too early for what the conditions warranted. I also tend to see my fellow newly licensed jumpers leaving too fast, not too slow, so I doubt this guy was taking 30 seconds in the door. Tell them to fuck off! Better to have a second pass than to sacrifice saftey!!! This is assuming that you aren't taking too long. This weekend we needed at least 10 seconds for saftey. I agree totally, and I can see where that doesn't seem to jive with what I was typing. When I am doing rw I track 180 from the other person allways (or what ever is appropriate considering group size). We are breaking low, and I don't think that I am tracking long enough for jump run to be a concern. Of course that is with assuming that the group behind me gave us good seperation. He has a point, plan the dive and dive the plan, but I think that there is also something wrong with this statement as well. You didn't dive the plan by choice, what if you had a malfunction that had you opening lower instead. Is he going to bitch at you for having a cutaway and ending up where he was tracking. I don't track up jump run and under the tandems just because I 'know they are pulling at 5.5k'. It is skydiving and shit happens. People pull sooner then they planned, people have malfunctions, and people do stupid shit. Instead of counting on others to pull exactly when they said I give proper seperation at the door, and don't track up jump run.
