Awesome, that product is exactly what I was wondering about. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Are there safer alternatives out there. I just imagined what a cue ball would do to the many roof around my dz if it wasn't retrieved, and it was not a pretty thought. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Hilarious!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Err, don't tell that to the people at the MIT, UConn, and UMass/Amherst clubs, all of whom are active at Jumptown. HW Thanks for the recognition Howard.

Go Fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could order a few cases at a discount. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

What if you are a skinny fuck, and you need to go to the gym to gain weight, not lose it. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I have been drinking coffee regularly since I was 12. It might have been earlier but 12 seems about right. I also picked up a bad smoking habit around that time. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

How is that a good thing? People need to grow a spine, and say how they feel without needing to hide behind a computer screen. My screen name is my real name, if I say it online I will repeat it in person. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

He waited till they were at 45 degrees of course!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Do you understand what a proper Winds Aloft forecast would look like? 0mph at exit altitude is only part of the overall picture. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
-
I really hope you don't kill some one else, before you kill your own stuborn ass. Ok so the pilot told you it was 0mph, ignoring the fact that it sounds pretty strange to have no winds at exit altitude, what was it at 12k, and 9k, at 6k, 3k? What directions were the winds at, what direction was jump run in relation to those winds? You still haven't shown that you had any of the information necessary to plan a safe skydive!!! You should have been asking about the uppers long before you even got on the plane. I am glad your far away in South America!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
-
How could we tell you for sure? You haven't even shown that you actually knew what the upper wind conditions were for that day!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I tell the person when I intend to chuck the hackey. I ask, but unless they are groups of the same size it doesn't change the exit order. If I am doing a two way belly with some one else, then I am not going to jump in front of the SOS 10 way because they are pulling a little higher. I like to know, but like you said I don't rely on vertical separation. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Basically he was crushed. Should have read the crush zone warning labels!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Good for you. My best advice is to avoid doing 25 straight solos once you get through AFF. That may be hard to do, or expensive to do, but it will make you a much better jumper by the time that A license rolls around. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I have been caught by that one before. But I try to learn from the verbal bitch slaps, instead of getting all defensive. You learn more than way. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I have a great idea!! Why don't you inform your instructors of this thread so they can be included in the discussion. Certainly presenting them with all of the information, instead of picking and choosing the information you think supports your case, is more likely to encourage a safe jumping atmosphere at your DZ. Do you want things to be safer, or do you simply want to be "right"? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Yes we can. The tandems aren't the saftey issue, you are. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
-
They don't need to know any of the conditions that were present that day. The fact that you passed another very close to a jumper under canopy while still in freefall, in this case a tandem, means that you were wrong in the delay that you took before exiting. The tandem didn't track up jump run in order to end up under your group, you just didn't wait long enough. Don't forget that by your own words you came pretty damn close to killing them. You said you wanted to make your DZ safer, so why exactly are you arguing with every one? Even if the tandems got out last you would have nearly had a collision with a different group if everything else was equal. Worse yet a rw group would have done some tracking unlike the tandem. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

All of those are possible, it is impossible to say. Check your closing loop every pack job, and replace at the first sign of fuzz. Have a rigger check that the length is correct. Don't fidget in the plane. If your leaning against the wall of the plane and are moving around you can work either of your pins loose. Replace worn out BOC spandex. Ask for pinchecks, he is lucky he didn't have the bag fall out while setting up in the door!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Is it possible to skyjump from an airliner?
DougH replied to A-Train's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I suggest you search for the video of the guy at WFFC getting his main wrapped around the tail of his jump plane after a premie. Then reconsider the idea that some one can repel out of a moving jumbo-jet. Hanging on a strut isn't even close to being the same as dangling on a rope. Transporting rig on motorcycle?
DougH replied to floridadiver81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If they can't affoard a gear bag, then they really can't afford riding around with their gear needlessly exposed to the sun, and generally not taking care of it. People don't need advice on how to do something half assed, we are already well skilled in this area. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Under normal conditions would slinks likely have a higher or lower breaking force than a set of mini risers? Any one care to wager an educated guess? (I know it is a tough question with tons of variables). "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
