From Diablopilot in the current AFF thread: I am a very low time jumper myself but I thought this was a pretty important comment. If you have been around for a while could you please share your opinions on how students and new jumpers were looked over in the past, and how we are failing to meet that standard today. I have my own idea of how I look over students and it goes beyond giving just giving gear checks and making sure they know the proper exit separation... My friend has an EG suit. I don't think his pads are removable. Over time sweat gets sucked into the pads and it starts getting funky. I would make them removable so you can wash and or replace them. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

What about knee pads that football pants use? They come in different sizes and thickness. They are closed foam, and usually sit in a pocket so they are removable. Any sport authority or similar store should carry them. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

What's the deal with wearing ear plugs during free fall?

You weren't asking me, but I do the same. I don't like the sound of being under canopy with them in, it makes me uncomfortable to be sitting up there with one of my senses dulled. I don't hear the wind noise ever, but that doesn't mean it isn't hurting my ears. I have a full face helmet so I can't take them out under canopy. Instead of doing all or nothing at least I can protect my ears from the engine noise. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -

I don't think it is bullshit, you simply need the read the fucking labels!!! Both Dasani and Aquafina state they are reverse osmosis filtered water. Why would you RO water from a good spring source? I am going to buy a couple more pc350's as I find them in good condition on the internet. I just ordered a cookie box and wide angle lense that fits them, so why not have a couple in reserve. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
