Just the first day... I'll see about getting off my lazy but and getting it uploaded. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

What to do with your helmet on takeoff?
DougH replied to Skydave103's topic in Photography and Video
I am thinking that an XTI or a HC5 flying around the cabin could be just as deadly. I don't really like that idea either. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
2007 Collegiate National Skydiving Championships
DougH replied to bbarnhouse's topic in Events & Places to Jump
So who is planning on attending? I can't compete this year since I just graduated but I plan on being there to cheer my friends from UConn on. I hope having the competition in AZ won't keep some of the teams who have had a good presence in the past, like VTech, from attending. On the flip side it will be nice for any clubs out West that the competition isn't in FL this time around. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Sounds like a business opertunity to me. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

looking for video of rear riser stalls helicopter
DougH replied to mutron's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
So what are the chances of this leading to my new canopy being chopped and never found? I think my fear of spending a day bush wacking through brambles and thickets in the woods is overpowering my natural desire to do stupid shit lol. Wasn't there recently a thread about the biggest students that tandem masters have taken? Maybe there are some instructors in that thread who are in FL and are up for the job?

No problem with Icon risers, they have the pin at the bottom. The only time I have come close is working one toggle half way out when dealing with sliders with tiny ass gromits. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I wasn't presuming, I was just making a smart ass comment. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

if no repack cycle, how often whould you I & R
DougH replied to bodypilot90's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would repack once a year unless I knew something happened that would necesitate a repack. I would inspect and maintain the other components just as frequently as I do now. For instance I try to clean my cutaway cables at least once a month. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -

Your FICO score has nothing to do with your income, it isn't even factored in to your credit score. You are right though, it does look at your revolving credit (cc balances), compared to your credit line. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I agree 300 jumps with SORZ and contacts an never a problem.

Why would inflatabile booties create any more turbulence then the same sized booties with no vent? The booties on my tonysuit stay nice and tight as well as inflating evenly. They aren't a hindrence at all as far as I can tell, they just ensure that the booties stay as big as they can when they are extended out into the relative wind. This isn't a huge x-wing suit, it is a small bit of mesh and a small zp pocket on the inside of bootie. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Don't do this, it is a dangerous habit to get into. Yes you need to confirm that the canopy has opened properly but if you spend the entire opening looking up you won't see the canopy collision you are just about to have. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Magic hat jinx shows up, and that is the end of my summer. The end of my summer has been a little melancholy. I have good friends who are leaving my normally dz. Change is never easy I guess. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

No worries then. If it is safe to fly the plane, and safe for you to jump given your experince level then you will be more than able to jump as fast as you can pack all winter long. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

not me "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

No shit, winter jumping is the best. It thins out the DZ crowd, and you get to jump the same group of crazy fawks all winter that are really into skydiving. Put on the long underwear and suck it up cupcake, I hope to see you out there. But if the cold keeps you away that is fine by me too. Or better yet, stop worrying so far ahead. Focus on the present, it doesn't matter how cold it is during the winter, when you still should be concentrating on getting that A license. Tick tock. Editing PC: State of the art for Circa 9/13/2007??
DougH replied to DougH's topic in Photography and Video
Since I just bought my pc350 I don't think I am going to HD for some time. At least not for another year or two, I can't afford it. I guess it would be more economical to buy a pc that is going to be fast for working on my DV camera footage, and down the road in a couple of years look at another pc, instead of buying some smoking fast machine that is going to be outdated by the time I move to HD.
