    Now that I am shooting some video I want to purchase a new pc to edit on. What is minimum pc components and specs I should be looking for? I haven't shopped for a performance PC's since the late 90's so I am a little behind the curve. I built one on HP.com since I get a small discount from work to get a rough idea of price. By the time I was done with quad processors, 4gigs for ram, Raid, and a good video card I was down 2k. Is it worth it or can I edit video and be happy with something a little more detuned?     Change the way you are looking at the situation then. If they are paying you let them worry about the useless training, it is their money. Take advantage of it.     The lowest C and D USPA license holders can open their containers is 2000 feet, so that is as low as I would do a hop and pop. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    In my honest opinion you really aren't that heavy for being 6 foot tall. I fell fast when I first started jumping. I was 190 lbs and 5'6. Once I got more experience my flying style evolved and I slowed down drastically. I do have a tony suit with mega booties that have the inflatable vents. There are no real down sides to having them once you learn how to fly the big booties. I don't know if they really slow you down, I think they help, but they don't have any negatives aside from the extra expense.     Paul, thanks for posting this. I posted the exact same thread a couple of days ago. Either this one just happened to be up at the top when the right people were looking... oooooooor no one likes me. I called Mike Furry directly. He suggested that you normally can jump up a size based on the reports he gets from riggers calling him. But he thought that two sizes, and an aad might a real tight fit. It may pack fine in the summer, but it may be a nightmare for my rigger come this winter when it gets drier out. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    My 2 cents... Although I wonder sometimes if its all necessary, I like the fact that is has all the cool features (freefall speed, exit alt, deployment alt, etc. etc.) and a visual analog looking altimeter all in the same package... I kinda dislike that the analog looking altimeter is just that, its not really an analog altimeter, just a dial an needle driven from a digital source made to look like a "classic" altimaster face. Why don't I like that? While I too have had an experience much like what you describe, where an altimaster "stuck" on me... I've never had an altimaster that, in otherwise working order, quit working because the batteries died. Mine has treated me very well for the past 350 jumps. It is still on the original battery with lots of life left. So far it has been way more reliable than any of my friends neptunes.

    I was just wondering what the largest reserve you have seen stuffed into one of these dolphins, or similar sized javs. I know what the sizing chart says, 170R 190M. I talked to Mike Furry and he said that he has heard of bigger sizes being put in them, but he couldn't confirm that large of a jump. I was building a cheap student rig for jumpers at the drop zone to be able to use. Since it was coming out of my own pocket I wanted to build it cheap, but safe, and I can get a cheap tempo 210 right now. I could have sworn I saw a d3 once or twice in the classifieds, with a 210 reserve. Thanks! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
