    Well since your protrack is not a Cypres and a Cypres is not a protrack I think we are trying to compare apples to oranges. How does a protrack measure your opening altitude.     The line should be drawn somewhere. 20 years looks reasonable. And how did you determine that it is "reasonable". Are you a rigger, chemist, engineer, etc. with research experince in this specific area? Or do you just play one on the internet.     I just got off the phone with a rep from Falcon insurance out of Ohio. He did some calling around and was suprised to tell me, and I was suprised to hear, that Lloyds of London was the only company right now that would open a new policy for a turbine jump plane. I was told to look for Jeff Norris. An internet search turned up only Chuck Norris who sadly wouldn't offer me a policy, only a round house kick to the face. Can some one confirm this for me please? Here is what I am visualizing in my non rigger mind: if the plastic doesn't run the whole length of the flap then it gives you a soft place in the flap where a line can hitch around and cinch down. The line would have a hard time sliding off because it would cinch the soft part of the flap and would get caught on the larger part of the flap with the plastic. Am I warm??     I will have to head up there sometime this season to see Van. Half of my jumps have been out of "white plane" when it was flying at Danielson. Great plane, great pilot. Too bad you never got to jump out of "brown plane" that was a cushy ride to alt, satalite radio and all! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Its not the Pilot. Its the size 188 and your wing load. Sorry, but I disagree. I have jumped pretty much every size pilot all the way down to the 104. Yes the recovery arc gets longer the more you load them, but all of them recover with no input from the pilot if give enough altitude. They have a very short recovery arc regardless of the wingloading or size. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    This sounds very familiar to the thread I was just reading about a performance variable rig that had a problem with lines getting hitched around the mid flap. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Maybe it is canopy dependent, or maybe because a lot of people tend to dive instead of flat track? You're waving off between that track and dump right? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    So that gives you 2,000 feet to track. Only a thousand feet to track at terminal and off the hill. You have to flare out of your track to get a text book deployment, so less then 1000 feet to track at terminal really. You deploy at 3,000 and you get a open canopy by? Then you have to stop working on your canopy drills shortly after and get into the pattern. Call me crazy but that doesn't strike me as the most efficient way to utilize a jump ticket.     I saw an awesome idea, for use with a viso. It was a folding eyeglasses case. the viso fit perfectly inside and it flipped open for use, flipped closed for packing etc. The case was low profile, and I doubt you could stab yourself with it if you fell hard on it.     Lets play the game an hour early next time. Then I won't play as loose as I pass my bedtime. I think I gave up the chip lead back and forth 6 times that game. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
