    How could you eliminate all chances of a horseshoe malfunction? I pack sigmas here and there so I have taken the time to read the manual thoroughly. You can still get one if the closing loop breaks or if the pin becomes dislodged (or is incorrectly packed and missed during the gear check) and the drogue release is pulled before the drouge is out.     I am pretty sure you can "rent" the USPA's database of all of their members addresses. It wouldn't suprise me if they purchased access to this from the USPA. Just a hunch, but it seems more like it is direct marketing, not unsolicited mailing. It also isn't a bad plan either. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Thanks, I had found that already, but they wanted 400 dollars for records for one of my tail numbers, and no info on the other. I found out that the U.S. DOT actually has all of the records for the major carriers, if they have 1% or more of the domestic volume then they report to this program called ontime. It is exactly what I needed, and free for my client to boot!

    Does any one know of a database where I can look up departures of aircraft by tail number? I need to do some research for a state tax project I was given for work. Basically a major carrier will be unable to tell me where my clients two planes were flying... so I will have to file state returns for a bunch of states where they most likely weren't flying. I found one application through the federal DOT called ontime, but it seems to be missing the months of november and december in the US. Any leads would be great!     That is far from the truth. The Cypres 2 just had a mandatory grounding & recall of a bunch of units because of misfires. The company did this on their own. Jumpers from back in the day can fill us in on how they handled misfires on the earlier units. I know they changed shielding and added some filtering to the units, but I don't know if they did any mandatory recalls at thaty time.     My altitrack battery has been "fresh" for two years and 350+ jumps. I really wonder if the battery meter is real, or if it only displays full charge. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    If they are private loans, and not federal loans, there isn't much out there. The is even less out there for people with no cosigners and limited credit history (read: every single college student).     The two softest openers that I have jumped that would be appropriate for a new jumper (assuming proper sizing) was the Aerodyne Pilot and Icarus Safire 2. The Crossfire 2 opened even softer with a very long snivel but seeing how it is fully eleptical canopy it doesn't belong in the rig of any new time jumpers. Your mileage will vary, your best bet is to demo a few canopies of an apropriate type at an apropriate wingloading and see which one you like the best.     I had a 1lb Rib-eye steak... rubbed with grey salt and fresh cracked pepper. Fresh asparagus, marinated in oliveoil, rice wine vinegar, and various spices. Loaded baked potatoe. All cooked (well besides the potatoe the second time around) over a chunk charcoal fire. Some Saranack Black and Tans to wash it all down. Yummmmmmmmy.     Keri, You have a great personality, you are smart, and you are genuienly nice person. You are going to do great where ever you decide to go. Don't worry about finding yourself in a new state with a bunch of strangers, you'll turn a bunch of them into good friends before long. Start with small steps, get some letters of recommendations and start sending out some resumes to different school districts in a few areas you are interested.     The Altitrack is a fine altimeter, I have had mine since jump 15 or so. I use it much less now, I only use my Viso on hop and pops. Or you could go cheaper get him a analog, and some jump tickets to go with it. Just hold off on the audible, let him spend 100 jumps working on his altitude awareness before he ruins it with an audible. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
