    That is amusing, especially since only a few months ago I recieved some really good swooping advice from him. It has really has helped improve what I was doing, and made me safer too. He is by far one of the funniest individuals I have ever met in my life.

    If said pilot has 10,000 hours and is such a great pilot why can't he get a comercial ticket? It should be an easy task in that case. If they won't get that ticket for financial reasons, or simply to thumb their nose at the rules... then what other corners are getting cut for financial reasons, and what other rules are being ignored. And as long as they continue to hose the general membership in favor of being a trade organization they will be unable to inspect, police, or even spank the hand of any of their group members for fear of another antitrust lawsuit.     And the effect would be nil, zip. The oil companies don't set the prices, the commodity traders do. If the institutional investors did not hit their desired return the price goes up. It really is that simple. Expect the price to reach $250 / barrel by July 2009. Expect Mexico to be no longer exporting oil to the U.S. in 6 years. Expect Russia to stop exporting oil in 9 years. I fixed it for you, sorry but I just don't think that it is that simple. Sure there is a increase in global demand but there is a comodity bubble in my opinion.     Could you be more specific. Are you talking about riggers packing reserves and doing and inspection, or packers trash packing mains? If I asked a rigger to supervise me packing my own reserve that I would expect to pay more. The job is going to take longer and is going to involve more babysiting on his or her behalf. Now just watching is another story. I would understand if it didn't fit into a riggers schedule to have me just sit there and watch, but if they wanted to charge me just for watching I would find a new rigger.     I chase, follow, and recover gear. Unless your gear is landing in the crushed glass landfill, or the pitbull farm expect me to make an effort to land with it. I actually was questioned about this the other day. Why land off with the gear, you can get hurt. Well I think I have the ability to land in tons of conditions, it is damn fun, and I wish some one else would wait with my 1-2k piece of nylon if I was in the same position.     Good luck. At my colleges print prices a full SIM would cost you thousands. Better to hose your employer and mail him one. I bet you can even get the copy department to put a nice spiral binding on it. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Agreed! Just because a canopy has a short recovery arc doesn't mean it is suitable for inexperinced pilots. The stilleto has a very short recovery arc, but the doesn't make you immune from killing yourself under one. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    They are in SA and I am trying to find a simple solution that doesn't involve air mail. I might also have a better time finding a sample of the old stuff from a rigger than the actual company, since I don't know the actual trade name of the old material.
