  1. Very cool. Dennis is a great organizer, and fundraiser with these events.
  2. And you automatically assume that he did... I assume that most significant events in George Bush' early life was bought, stolen, commandeered, fixed, manipulated, whatever. I'm jaded, admittedly. I do like Ryoder's medical example, that could explain a lot. But the callousness he shows towards poverty and lower-class people isn't a byproduct of Alszheimers, it's just a lack of compassion.
  3. I have a camera, and expect to be shooting/uploading as much as possible.

    Blade

You know that the earlier Blades don't fly as well as the models Jari is delivering post-Valentines Day, right? John Bast's Blade and my Blade are the newer models, they go faster, float better, and have Swiss-Army coolness built in because we waited 3-4 days longer than you did to order.
  5. I would think so, because they are different encoder/decoders. Ask again when I have the SR12 in my hands in a month.
  6. Quote Nope. His SAT score demonstrates quite clearly that he is more intelligent than the majority of the public. Better than 2 in 3. What he chose to do with that ability is a different matter. reply] You assume that Daddy didn't buy those scores or that he didn't cheat?
  7. http://www.spottedeagle.com/USPA BOD.htm has all email addresses for the BOD, just copy/paste as a whole.
  8. I can't be certain, as high school was a long time ago, but I recall learning that the only religion that was allowable to practice in the American prison system in the early to mid part of the 20th century was Christianity. I can recall the battles over this in the 70's, but I was pretty young, so may not recall all of that correctly.
  9. So is 99.9% of the working class American public. Romney definitely looks more presidential than the other candidates. Based on that, I think Michael Douglas should be POTUS.

    What's up in Orlando?

It's pretty dismal out there...light rain at the moment. Maybe I'll go work out at the YMCA next door here.

    What's up in Orlando?

Just got off the phone w/one of my guys, he's flying here tomorrow anyway, and is going to bring my wingsuit...so I gotta find a rig.

    What's up in Orlando?

That's the best idea... borrow a rig and fly. If I'd have had any idea this would fall through, I'd have either stayed home (where we've got more snow than the north pole), or brought a rig w/me.
  13. It used to be that when you went to jail, you lost all of your civil rights.
  14. If you can figure out how a line under *any* degree of tension will enter the perfectly flat receiver plate that is perfectly flush with the carbon fiber, I'll concede the point. I don't believe it's possible. The plugs/closing caps are rounded where they meet the metal edge of the receiver plate, and even if a line could potentially snag there (it wouldn't, as I tried this just a moment ago, even though I did this when evaluating the helmet) I'd submit the cap would either break off or pull out under that sort of tension. There is no exposed flat side of the plug. And in my case, the plugs/caps won't be used anyway. They're only there if you don't have a camera or box on the helmet. I can see how you might be concerned about this if you haven't held the helmet in your hands and run your hands or line over it, but it's not an issue. I see the ladder straps on the FF2 as being a significantly greater risk than any aspect of the CC1. Once you put a ringsight on either of them, they're both snag-ready. Hence the use of nylon screws. If you're going to get right down to it, *every* camera helmet is going to have a snag hazard on it somewhere. Ladder straps, fastex snaps, ringsights, threaded knobs, flash mount, camera buttons/knobs/switches/plugs, lenses, helmet latches.... Doesnt' matter how well it's made, how well it's designed, who makes it, or what it's made of. If you need to drill into that level of minutaie, then jumping a camera/camera helmet is probably not for you. Either way, I have zero concern of any sort jumping this helmet with both a still and video camera on it. YMMV.
  15. BMI Faris Alaboudy will be there too, and he does have BASE wingsuit jumps. I don't have any real BASE, but will be there during those dates with my wingsuit. Faris has a couple demos as well. Have em' page "Spot" at manifest.

    What's up in Orlando?

I came to Orlando early for a biz meeting that canceled at the last minute due to weather in TN, so I'm wondering what to do in this part of town (staying for USPA General meeting). Like an idiot, I didn't bring my rig, as I thought I'd be in meetings all Thursday and Friday. Any suggestions?
  17. I need to point this thread to Steve Douglas (from Ken Stone's website). He and Ken claim that Sigma stems from SIGnificant MAlfunction and that they've had nothing but trouble with the lenses. We've had a few online debates, but it never struck me to send em' over here.

    Astrology

yeah, but if the moon hadn't been in the 7th house, and Uranus wasn't lined up with the Eurapean Roselin front, then it's entirely probable that the Flying Spaghetti Monster would have just been a gleam in Bobby Henderson's eye, and the Pastafarians wouldn't have existed.
  19. I dragged a line across the entire helmet. No way could a line be snagged, the way the box and helmet angles are cut, a line could potentially hit that spot, but it won't snag no way, no how. It's no more a snag point than the wide angle lens that might be sticking out of the camera box. The FF2 definitely has nice lines in the way it's built, for my own use, I can't imagine buying a helmet that locks me into one camera style/model only, and I'm not a fan of the heavier cameras on the side anyway. But...everyone has different needs. One feature I *really* like is the ability to pitch the camera up or down, depending on how it's being used.
  20. Its' the same in Australia. Call up the ABC/Auntie...they'll tell you the same thing. Back in "tha day" we had war-chalking, or a way to mark where there was wireless that could be stolen, and then the FCC said "If you own a wireless modem, it's up to you to deal with the bandwidth usage." Cool. Note to everyone; I can't begin to count the number of times I've been on a public network and been able to browse other computers. Secure your laptops, folks...
  21. Remind me not to piss you off.
  22. You do know who Karl Rove is working with right now, yes? he was on television last night.
  23. 50mm approximates the human eye, yes. If you're shooting a Rebel (or other APSC sensor) figure approx 33mm. **never mind, Saskia beat me to the punch
  24. If they're going to spend the $$ to give you a drug test, they're likely going to hire you. Congrats!
