DSE replied to RMK's topic in Photography and Video

Just wanted to share his version of this Leonard Cohen song. "Hallelujah" Nicely done.

The staples just wuzzunt werkin, so they put in a zipper to make it easier. You can't see my tattoo that says "It's a BOY!" over my incisions.

Mine just made me look like a dumbass. But...I have a zipper for easier access next time.

.mp4 & .flv files not working in Sony VegasPro timeline

I'm thinking you need to use another convert program, seems like Vegas doesn't like that codec. Try this; Set a system restore point and download the Klite codec pack. Then try the mp4 (vegas won't open the FLV) on the timeline. Klite sometimes is distributed by bad sites, so the restore point should let you get back to where you were before the install should it not work. -
If burning to BD is your desire, then forget Apple. You can burn HD on a DVD 5 as long as the length doesn't exceed approx 22 mins. Dell makes amazing laptops, IMO. I have a couple 6300's used for students. If outputting video fast is your need, Apple is the wrong direction. If you already know Apple products and don't want a learning curve, Apple is a good direction. No one builds a better (in terms of tough, sexy, physical plant) laptop than Apple. I carry an MBP because I'm required to for the work I do. I use the Windows partition 80% of the time. I use the Apple side for Motion, occasional FCP and AVID, and rarely...After Effects. Photoshop runs better on the PC side, so does Premiere Pro. PC laptops are generally easier to deal with if you want to be flexible, IMO. If you're serious about porn, be sure you have a good anti-virus. Phree can help you with that. One bennie to a Mac...they're not _as_ vulnerable to virus as PC's are, but that too, is changing.

looking for a scanner component that has an older driver? You can download the Twain32 dll from numerous websites. In "SERVICES.MSC", locate Windows Image Acquisition. Double click it. On Start Up Type, you'll probably see it's Disabled. Set this option to Manual. Click "OK" Click the green button in the services toolbar. It'll change color. Done.

Zach put me into the worst spin I've ever had the other day. It was violent, and while I enjoy spins, this one had my adrenaline up. I attempted to ball up (hoping Zach or Scotty were shooting video) but couldn't. Arching hard cleared it very quickly. Stu can attest to something similar, but his video is too far away (during the PFC evals, he had to deal with me inducing a high speed rotation). Arch and arch hard.

Options| Preferences | Editing Tab | Overlap multiple files. For clarity's sake, they're not sequences from a camera. They're files. "Sequences" is a unique term for Avid and Final Cut software, and relates to collections of files.

Do you have Quicktime installed? -
Spoken like a true skygod with a bucketful of luck. Those audibles will really help you not hurt someone else. The two low timers that had the collision while sit flying both had audibles along with their cameras. Frickin' things just not have worked, because the cameras made clear exactly what happened. In one of the videos, the audible can be heard on the camera.

Scotty sent the one of the topless debauchery to him, but the one of the tandem chicks...I haven't edited that in yet. Been a busy two days. Thanks for being the awesome base you are, and thanks for the fun times. BTW, did you know you suck your thumb when you sleep on the packing mat?
-
For the CX, I'd recommend a Cookie Flatlock or Skysystems Quad. As far as a box...there are several but most folks are avoiding boxes. I like the Cookie and Tonfly boxes. The GoPro is just a sticky mount.

T'was a great time, including that incredible mountain swoop first in wings and then under canopy. Stories for the logbooks. Thanks for coming up, Ted. You rep'd TX better than Mike ever could. Didja show him the pic of the two tandem chicks that came out looking for him?

on the top half of A5 And on FB

Scotty got TWO front page/large pix from the Wingsuits Over Utah event. Congrats to Scotty!
-
put slightly differently: "I don't know anything about accuracy, but another jumper told me a tandem canopy would be better for me..." Specifics about what you know, what you want to know, budget, how you'll use it, what kind of camera gear... Just up and buying an Apple because someone said it would be best is like buying a tandem canopy for softer landings.

A-legal copy of Vegas? DVD A installed? B-mp4 is just a container. There are various methods of creating an mp4. Vegas should be able to read it. C-Vegas will only read the FLV if it's flash 5 or older in compatibility. In your Vegas prefs, you might be sure that "ignore third party codecs" is not checked. It may well be that the Speed Video Downloader isn't making a compatible file. -
I have both Voodoo and TalonFX. I love my Voodoo, but I also love my TalonFX. Similar cut in the yokes, very similar feel in the back. I'd much rather have a "pregnant" FX than a Voodoo. the FX is made to manage "pregnant" but the Voodoo just looks weird. I like my smaller Storms in the Voodoos and like my demo canopy in my FX. Both are awesome, IMO.

focus settings on all recent Sony models all reset at 12 hours due to the clock configuration.
-
sweetly inspiring, Charley!
-
Try it at 4-5' and you'll be just as happy and have greater range. I recommend you download and print the focus chart I have put up here. It'll help immensely .
-
Spot focus. That's what it's there for.

England: 10-Year Old Boy Allowed to Shoot Shotgun!
DSE replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
I think it should be illegal to shoot guns anywhere. What did a gun ever do to you? I started using firearms when I was around 8 myself, but I've never shot a gun. The gun might shoot back.
