  1. Best settings are for what your camera is acquiring. In your case, best settings are the 720 x 480 widescreen. Set it to this preset, then in the Properties dialog, choose "Always open Vegas with these settings." You coulda asked me at Couch Freaks, I even had you paged!
  2. Purpose (as it says at the bottom of the card) is to give wingsuiters a "what the hell do I do now?" kind of direction for someone fresh off of a First Flight Course. If nothing else, consider it a hack version of an A license card (basic skills used to fly safely with others). It has zero relevance to the USPA or USPA dropzones. Feel 110% free to ignore it.
  3. Mine is not only in carryon- I'll occasionally pull it out just to measure the cabin pressure (for giggles)

    Yom Kippur

well....now that it's after sundown, perhaps if there are any observant Jews that are reading this forum, they'll give the answer you demand. BTW, Happy Yom Kippur!

    Yom Kippur

a·tone·ment [uh-tohn-muhnt] –noun 1. satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends. A friend at Perris used one of my jump tickets without my knowledge. By way of atonement, she bought breakfast at Annie's. I'm not satisfied. She needs to atone again, this time at Kokoro's.

You are simply out of your depth. These verses are a call to repentance. ? Not in my interpretation.

    Yom Kippur

I merely see the same ole' empty headedness that many weak-minded individuals cover up with what they profess to be "Christian" and "God said." Honest...God doesn't give a shit about you, your book, or how it's misinterpreted. Here's another one that I love to misinterpret; "Beware of false teachers who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are wolves and will tear you apart. You can detect them by the way they act, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You need never confuse grapevines with thorn bushes or figs with thistles. Different kinds of fruit trees can quickly be identified by examining their fruit. A variety that produces delicious fruit never produces an inedible kind. And a tree producing an inedible kind can't produce what is good. So the trees having the inedible fruit are chopped down and thrown on the fire. Yes, the way to identify a tree or a person is by the kind of fruit produced. "Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as 'Lord,' but still won't get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my Father in heaven. At the Judgment many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.' But I will reply, 'You have never been mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil.' (Matthew 7:15-23)

    Yom Kippur

I was just listing what I felt was relevant scripture from where the Jewish faith comes from...he who has ears let him hear...though I think it's pretty clear even if you're deaf. ~that doesn't sound like the King James version I was beaten with. Is it yet another mistranslation of several mistranslations? ~who the fuck cares? Judaism is every bit as much a valued religion as any other religion. If it is false, so is yours. Yom Kippur is a holy time. How about giving it a rest for those that respect their holy time even if we don't follow their religion?
  9. I started with a pump action. I'm not a fan of giving semi-autos as a first firearm. All my nephews have received a .22 from me as a gift on their 12th birthday, kind of a tradition. I give a rifle, my brothers give cleaning kits, targets, scabbard. Every kid in the country should learn firearm safety, IMO, and a semi-auto isn't the way to teach it (IMO).
  10. One other thing... Look in your Internal Preferences. Be SURE it's set to Multithreading (it almost always is, but there are some funky installs that shut it off. Strike that, just realized you have Movie Studio. Internal prefs are not accessible.

  13. Marlin bolt action is a simple, affordable, hard to mess up firearm that will last forever if it's cared for (well....longer than you or me).
  14. a few things: ~Be sure you're using the latest version of VMS10 ~Cut the GoPro to 720 vs an odd screen resolution ~use a project resolution that is the same as your finished resolution vs your source resolution. GoPro, Contour, and similar cameras are all AVC vs AVCHD, so they're slower. There is no standardized spec for AVC beyond its package and bitrate maximums (even then...it's not standard). Some CPU's are optimized for these weirdnesses; others aren't. Wait'll you see the Sandy Bridge project from Intel hitting the streets. AVC will finally scream. For now...gotta optimize that workflow.
  15. Then I'd suggest you contact Joe. In the email, include channel, air date, and best recall of time ads ran. Very, very easy to track, and if it's post broadcast, very easy to prosecute or negotiate. If it's truly unlicensed, I'm sure he'll be grateful.
  16. Are you certain Joe didn't license it?
  17. Understated well...shot a docco re; WWII there not too long ago. Lots of "special fees" involved. For everyone. Amazing how Uncle Tito wants to shake hands with Uncle Sam. If you can manage the organizing and really have two Otters there, I'd be there in a flash. It's an awesome place with some terrific history, shorelines, and landscape. Landings near Cotton Point? On the beach?
  18. Whisper voice- Careful you will be labeled as an agry old jumper who has lost touch with whats going on if they see this- whisper off News flash buddy..."Too late." I travel a lot and see a lot of new and existing WS'ers but i'm not part of the "lemme suck up and be part of your elite group that is doing this/that." So...I'm that angry old guy. Hope to fly with you next weekend, angry old guy.
  19. I've already told Robi I want one. There is a dude that is asking about one in camo too. The few pix I've seen...very nice new features and some that are obviously improvements built on what others have done. If the performance envelope is anything like the changes from the P1 to the P2...it'll be a very high bar in the suit evolution
  20. I was sold on the Blade, didn't know what I didn't know, and after 3 returns to the factory (all the while jumping my Phantom), I learned a little more about suits. Ed's event (where I met you) was very educational. You weren't such a whiney bitch back then, what happened? Shrinkage? Is *that* what this thread is really about? Seriously...we are seeing a lot of newbies coming up and wanting to wingsuit. Retention will be determined by how much fun they have on their first flights (which is why I think education is important), by how clear the path forward is made, and by a friendly, open community interested in communal growth and personal challenge. Not to mention having fun, of course. C'mon Dennis Miller wanna-be...have some fun. Joner can help with that shrinkage, too. See!? I'm *all* about solutions.
  21. and titties. it's amazing how much the pilot will do for you when you show them a nice pair of titties. just sayin... Key word; "nice" If me, Stefan, or Scotty show ours...we'll be getting out at 6K in a power curve with no cut. I propose you post a printable photo of yours that we can all keep in our pockets as a means of gaining some extra. That *really* should be a line on this card; -Carries photo of "nice titties" for pilot -knows to buy beer for coaches.
  22. You'd be surprised at how much a pilot will do for you if you're nice to him, and give him a little bit of conversation. For you...try something like "I sure had a good time with your missus last night, Jim!"
