  1. That's a very cool picture - it should be on the cover of Parachutist! Congrats Kathleen!!
  2. Like someone else said, I love animals of all sorts except reptiles, rodent and insecty things! Wild land: Wolves. Wild marine: dolphins. Horses: you're right, they are poetry in motion. Did you see Dreamer with Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning? It was a cute family-type movie. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  3. OMG - you are creative! I have seen the graveyard and pail-o-dirt cakes w/the gummy worms, but I have never seen a kitty-litter cake!! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  4. Awww...you're a good aunt! That's very cool. I'm sure all the kids at school will get a kick out of it too! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  5. Beautiful - I especially like the first one. Thanks for posting. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  6. Great news - nice to see another math-anxiety-sister do so well! I've always had the same angst with math. When I get back to school, I think I'll take it as my first class back just to get it over with - ya know, take the bull by the horns thing. Congrats! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  7. I'm surprised it took someone this long to mention Vegas!
  8. OMG - ROTFLMAO!!!! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  9. Do you like them barbecued on your plate? Then you know enough! LOL! Shell, you're too funny! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  10. So this other dog's name is Kuma, and doesn't respond to commands...so you're having to constantly repeat his name, as well as call for Karma. You're probably getting a real headache with the Kuma/Karma combo! Are the dogs getting mixed up? Does poor little Karma come when you call Kuma? "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  11. Uh...I believe this is S.C. stuff. You're in the wrong forum. We like to talk about cows, dogs, herbs, and occasionally the broken heart if someone is drunk posting or under the influence of Nyquil. In other words, we'll talk about anything other than this. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  12. You are absolutely right. My brothers bought this dog from a pet store when they still lived at home, and had no clue about the breed when they got him. All they knew was that "he looked so cool", which he did, but that's beside the point. To make a long story short, after he died one of my brothers and I were talking about all the mistakes made with Kita (his name - we've been talking about akitas and didn't want to confuse). And it all came down to not understanding the breed and keeping him out of situations where he would likely mess up. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  13. Scott, thanks for the pic. ------------------------------------------------------------ eeneR: I LOVE huskies - my family had one for 13yrs. He had to be put to sleep a couple yrs. ago. due to old age/inability to walk anymore...he was suffering. But OMG, talk about running! If he got loose, you couldn't catch him, unless you got extremely lucky, until he was tired. He was incredibly stubborn when he didn't want to do something, but also incredibly sweet tempered at the same time. Very good around kids - all the neighborhood kids around my mom's house loved him. Good to know you understand the breeds
  14. I've never heard of a shiba inu - is it a larger dog, like a husky? "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  15. I second that! ETA: But I believe a grown woman speaks up. Too many people thrive on the drama - don't like the drama of jerking someone else around, and I don't like to be jerked around. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  16. Oh , I hate that song and especially that 'my hump my hump (or whatever) song! Someone else recently discussed Fergie in a thread and I believe Kele01 said she "sucks donkey balls" - that's about right! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  17. Well, it's Cat Hunter here... I have to get her in a half-nelson, and usually can only do 2 paws at a time before she starts to completely go out of her mind. I have to catch her again later to finish the other two. I brush her after w/her favorite grooming brush as a reward, hoping some postitive association would eventually make it easier, but nothin' doin'. She's a cat, they have their own way of looking at the world, so I don't expect she'll ever let it be easy. Good luck with the pootch! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  18. Nope, mine are blue 24/7 too! Well, there's 3 of us! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  19. ***Spray the plants with soapy water. About 5 drops of dish soap per litre. Then rinse the plants with fresh water after a day or two. Thank you! I'll try that! *** If you can think of it, PM and let me know how this works out. I had exact same problem last year...I have this great 5-tiered plant stand outside. Had all my herbs and a couple plants out there, and when the cooler weather hit I brought them in, and proceeded to go crazy trying to get rid of all the little varmets. I took them all back out, tapped all the dirt of and repotted, which helped. But it was such a mess. I LOVE fresh basil, so this summer I just kept that one plant in the kitchen and skipped the rest because of my experience (last year). I'm new the plant world so appreciate anything I can pick up. I'm so proud of myself, only one plant died last winter. I've been known to be the Grim Reaper of plants! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  20. Like Jennr8r said, you haven't missed much. Unless of course your local mall has put in a Cinnabon store...now that is worth fighting the parking spot Kami kazis (SP?) for once in a while. Put on some Alison Krause and Union Station - that'd make great background music while you postwhore!
  21. I will commend them in that they at least showed some sense of responsibility by returning the animal so it now has a chance of finding an owner that will be committed to the dog. There are those who would do worse. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  22. A big congratulations...that's fantastic!

It's very sad here...I'm having a fuzzy navel wine cooler left over from a cook-out. It's all I had here, and there's a crazy bad rainstorm going on right now with green skies (it's always a bad sign when the skies go dark green) mixed with a little hail. And the tornado sirens are going off - I'm not going out to get anything better. It's 'navel time! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
