Flying From UK to Spain With A Rig ?

I've flown with thomson from gatwick and ryanair from stanstead to malaga and seville respectively, both times with rig as carry on, never had any problems. As has been said, take your cypres card and worth searching the threads, (its on here somewhere, will post it if I can find it), there's a copy of the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines that state an AAD is not considered a dangerous item and is permitted as carry on. but what do I know -

I did my AFF at Lillo, it was a great dropzone and I will go back, though as you can read in some posts they've had some issues recently, perhaps willyramos can clear that up.. I'd also recommend Seville - 15,000ft on every load, thats significantly more freefall per jump.

That's not strictly true, you just need to find one or more people who do have FS1 who'll jump with you. I don't have many more jumps than you but have done a 4-way, 3-ways and lots of 2-ways. If you're on a load doing a solo and there's others doing the same who have FS1, ask them if they want to do a 2-way. I'm sure you'd get a positve repsonse, some people think jumping alone is like masturbation. I say whats wrong with masturbation?!?! edited to add: Its sex with someone you love but what do I know

I woould be suprised if you can notice any difference in pictures taken in freefall with IS on or off, assuming your shooting at a reasonably fast shutter speed, say 250th sec or faster. FYI, IS mode 1 adjusts for movement on the horizontal and vertical axis, mode 2 corrects only on the vertical axis (assuming a landscape format), which allows for smooth panning to acheive background blur. but what do I know

Canon 'L' series lenses will generally be heavier due to more robust build quality, i.e more metal. Also any lens that give you a wide aperture of f2.8 or less will weigh in more as they're significantly harder to engineer. but what do I know
