    Most diffusers that fit to a flash head, work best when combined with bouncing the light, not an option in the sky unless you've a camera assistant flying the reflector slot, or maybe use a cloud The built in flip over ones are there primarily for when using wide angle lenses, but however you soften your light there's a drop in output so your batteries wil be working harder, something to consider. The first thing I woukd try would be a stofen omnibounce a secure fit over the flash head and there's a slight but noticeable softening when used as direct flash, but unless you can bounce you light its always going to be on the hard side.

    to the OP : No - Even Jpeg files, as long as saved at best quality, can be interpolated/upsized considerably. Provided they're sharp and in focus and not suffereing high ISO 'noise' - digital grain. more important is quality of sensor and lens, which is why I have to agree with Laszlo, primarily because Canon make better glass, most Nikon prof' photographers I meet concede this. So if starting from scratch I'd buy Canon. 350d is light and will do the job, spend as little as you can get away with on the body and as much as you can afford on the right lens(es) for you. best in long run. Let the Nikon V Canon debate rage on, the most important part of a camera is the user

    For what its worth, I heard somewhere that a pro-tec offers a lot better pro-tec-tion than lots of more expensive makes. If I were you, I'd go try some on. Sometimes, depending on your headshape, the helmet chooses you. I've got a cookie. Its worked (so far) and nice and quiet. Hope that helps.

    At I think all the DZ's I've jumped at somebody would of inspected kit and/or asked about canopy size for a newly licensed skydiver. I assumed your DZ must of known. I would of thought if they had, they wouldn't of let you jump it, for a reason. But you did, and I'm not questioning you jumping or landing anything, if you have experenced canopy pilots mentoring and monitoring your progression their judgement is better than mine. People should do as they like, as long as they're safe. I haven't flown a wingsuit at 78 jumps but if at 178 I feel I'm ready and find an instructor whos opinion I trust who agrees to take me then lets go. good luck but what do I know

    I've not made 150 jumps in a year, but I'd consider myself 'active'. As in I'll be jumping this year, next year and so on and on. When my life affords it I hope to be making 150+ jumps a year but I wouldn't consider myself in hibernation until then ?! but what do I know

    What about opening the lens by using a smaller f stop for shallower depth of field? You might miss the focus on more shots but maybe easier than a heavier bulkier lens? but what do I know
