    When I was in the third grade I was thrown from a horse and broke both arms, first day of summer vacation. I have never broken a bone skydiving so in my personal opinion and experience, yes skydiving is safer so far. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I did say that I should hve been paying attention, so yes the accident was my fault, but not entirely. The only person hurt was me. Also in my state a green light means go. Not sit there talking on your fucking cell phone. I watched that light turn green from a block and half away, so I'm not the only one who should have been paying attention. At 45 mph it doesn't take long to cover that distance. I looked off to the side for aprox. 2 seconds and I was up her ass. the moral to this story and this thread is that you have to be aware that not everybody can talk and drive at the same time. Oh by the way, I drove for a living for 22 yrs and literally millions of miles with only that accident. That comes from paying attention and driving defensivly. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    Hello, I'm at home right now, but as soon as I leave I will return your call. Fucking assholes man. I want a big flash card that says " Do you think you could drive better if I shoved that cell phone up your ass?" I layed my Harley down a few yrs back because of a woman sitting at a green light talking on her cell phone. I should have been paying more attention I will admit but if she had pulled away when the light turned green I wouldn't have been put in the the position to begin with. I hate cell phones on the road. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I only met Mac one time at the prairie so I didn't get to know him like everybody else. I know that the skydiving community as a whole and LP have lost a pioneer in this sport and I know that he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Blue Skies Mac.     Just thought I'd let you know that we did some jumps last weekend and I took the advice and took the camera and L bracket off of my brain bucket. I have no intention of putting them back on anytime soon. Was kind of weird getting home and not being able to see my dives cuz I have filmed every one of my last 100 or so jumps. But better safe than sorry. Just thought that I'd let you know that I took your advice. By the way I just took a look at your profile. I didn't realize that you were on the other side of the pond. I was stationed there at RAF Wethersfield close to Braintree in the early 80's. Will be coming back soon to see some old friends. They live in Clacton On Sea. Maybe we can meet for a pint someday. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I totally understand where you are coming from there. What I meant by no snag points was the cam was taped to the helmet so there were no edges or sharp corners as such but the whole thing in itself was a snag point I guess. In my mind I was figuring that lines would just slide off or the whole cam would just rip off the helmet. You're absolutely correct tho. Murphys' Law is always at work. Like I said, I will be re-evaluating jumping with my cam till I have some higher jump numbers. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    Nope, just like beer with flavor. Actually I drink very seldom anymore and when I do I'd rather drink liquor. Don't spend so much time ruuning to the can. Figured that I'd get some shit for that one though. But I am American thru and thru. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I'm American and spent 3 yrs in England. When I went over I couldn't stand the thought of drinking warm beer. I was wrong. Brit beer is great. American beer in comparison is swill. Brit beer actually has flavor. Plus it has more alcohol content. More bang for the buck. And you have to drink american beer fast cause if it's even the slightest warm it sucks even more. I do have to admit tho that a nice ice cold beer on a hot day is great. But I think I have to side with the Brits on this one. Long live Burton Ale. It's been 22 yrs since I had one though. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I have always set my brakes as soon as i hit the ground before I daisy chain my lines. Mainly so they are not just dangling. Then it just became habit. After every 5 jumps or so while I'm packing I make sure all twists are out of the brake lines also. As for paying someone to pack it the brakes are always set and the slider is always ready. As for the pilot chute I will let them cock it but I always check to make sure that I see blue on my kill line before jumping it. It's part of my gear check I do before every jump. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    Gotta agree with Skybytch. Go ahead and do a couple jumps on whatever you were flying last yr. I went rom a Manta 288 to a Trithalon 190 myself on jump # aprox.15 to 20. There is a hell of a dif. I did not have a several month break between though. I love my Triath. It can be somewhat zippy when I want it to and a little forgiving when I need it to. Great soft openings for the most part unless I've rushed my pack job. I have had a couple hard openings but nothing major. I love my Trithalon.     Geez. This shit is weird. The stuff people do to themselves sometimes is beyond me. Guess it takes all kinds to make this rock go around. Personally I like the term Old Brown Eye than Old Pink Eye. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

    I remember a female comedian one time saying that men are not very specific. If they hit something they're happy. She also wondered why the brakes to the car were in the kitchen sink.
