    If you come into my house you will face the business end of an AK. So I say yes, in most cases it is OK. Many burglaries turn into rapes and murders and you never know when that can happen. I got the impression they were running away well before he fired shots. He didn't shoot them because he was threatened - he shot them to keep them from getting away. Whatever. I am in favor of the use of force to protect property. Go try to rob a bank - you will be shot by the cops over property, so why can't I protect my property? Either way, I support his actions. Had he not done anything, this would be yet another unsolved crime that the police don't even attempt to solve. Who knows what these crooks might have done next. That might have prevented the shootings, or maybe the police would have been on the trigger.     One I punched right in the face - problem solved and never bothered again. Another case a huge bully (he played football and I was scrawny at the time) was picking on a friend of mine. I asked him if it made him feel important to pick on people smaller than him. Then I told him that if it continued that I would kill him (back in those days saying that was not taken literally) and that I would not back down, no matter what. He left my friend alone after that and seemed to respect me, and even fear me a little. He picked on the wrong (small) guy a year later and was spin kicked in the face and dropped like a sack of potatoes. So, in short, don't take shit from anyone, and teach your kids the same.     These things are a potential nightmare for amateur radio operators. There is enough garbage polluting the spectrum without these things coming on line. Soon, any weak signal work will be impossible. BTW - the dealextreme models do not work on most US phones, so forget it.
