Your right about the step being too high, the person who nstalled it flubbed up. They wanted them to all be exactly the same so they measured the distance from the bottom of the cargo hatch. Except on the difft model otters the hatch is bigger and smaller, so one ended up real high. As far as blaming the step for the Nj all three teams used that plane, so they all had an equal chance at it. We all used it, and had to improvise, some did better than others. Yeah I thought of all that, I dont think anything to do with the neighbors is possible, I asked if I could pay to have cable installed and was told no, the place I am moving to is a studio apt in the back. So people should be free to kill themselves? Some idiot jumping a canopy they have no reason to be under, only gives this sport a bad reputation. When someone pounds in, and kills themselves because they dont have the experience, or the knowledge to understand the canopy they are jumping is too small for them. Flying a highly wingloaded canopy and landing it a few times, doesnt mean that someone is capable of flying that canopy. There is a lot more to it. I could bet that everyone that has any time in this sport has seen it before, and will see it again. I can speak from experience, broken Femur's are no fun. I for one dont want to be in the air with people like this, because they are not only dangerous to themselves, but also to everyone in the air with them. I fully agree with a dz not letting someone jump a canopy they arent ready for, especially when the Dzo made that decision not based on a wingloading #, but based on the person's demonstration for lack of ability/common sence. I personally watched someone Die this way. Never try to land a lineover. A lineover is one of the worst malfunctions because you can fool yourself into thinking that the canopy will fly. The girl I watched flew her canopy from 4'000ft and then at around 1000 ft her left side (the one with the lineover) collapsed, and she spiraled into the ground. If she had cutaway she would probably be alive today. Trust your reserve, that is what it is there for. Never try to land a Lineover, the fact that the person that started this thread survived is good, and I am happy it happened. That said I hope it is never repeated. Once you pass your decision altitude, it is too late, if your at 500 ft and your canopy collapses, its too late. You can clear a lineover, but not always, try and clear it, a few times, if not cutaway and use your reserve. There is a awesome movie called Breakaway I recommend everyone should watch it at least once. Today my good friend Bob tells me, he see's me as a lonely old man. I hear it all the time from my Borther, Mother, friends ect. Why are you single? Im not particularly an ugly man, but I wouldnt call myself attractive, and for some reason, I have met and dated a few women. Here is my reason, and I want to know if you agree, disagree or if you are the same way. Im single, because I want to be with someone I want to be with. I have wasted so much time with girls that I didnt want to be with, or should I say incompatible with. Most of the time I was with someone, was based on the fact that I had to be with someone ie: afraid to be alone, now that I am comfortable with myself, and being alone is no big deal, my friends and family decide to tell me something is wrong. Is it wrong to hold out, and wait to find the someone you look forward to see when you go home? Im looking for the girl I want to miss, or the one person, I want to see before I go to sleep, and wake up. The one person that understands me (almost impossible) as well as I understand her. Now this is almost impossible, but I see it everyday with people I know. What do you think, is that someone out there for everyone, or do you just settle and date the next person that is interested in you? I think waiting for the right person is the best, quality not quantity. Heck my brother and his wife dont get along at all, I want to look forward to going home, not have it be something I want to avoid. Is there something wrong with me? Is this too much to ask? I loved that sticker! I've done that a few times, it made for very angry pilots, they don't like you on top, or over, but planned ahead its pretty cool. I was on that step a bunch at Nationals, and training, it definitely was different, but having jumped over 20 difft Otters they are all different, as well as many caravans, cessna's and king air's you have to approach them all differently. Delands, Chicago's, Eloys, and especially, Zhills 3 completely difft otters. None are the same You learn to Improvise. But I would prefer the same step every time, I cant say I did my best textbook exit shots from the different steps, even Airspeeds guy got Nj'd. And Graham from Majik said it almost cost him. Funny thing I noticed is the Antenna got busted during 4way, someone must have grabbed it, it was there in the begging but not there in the end, and I saw video of people grabbing it during judging, I dont see why, when the handle was a bar, almost too much to grab, Im used to a little handle. A reserve should be bought with the intention that you could safely land it unconcious. Bigger/smaller than your main is hard to decide, if you have a large Main you can use a smaller reserve i.e: 230 main, 196 reserve. But if you jump a 135 the best bet might not be a 113 reserve. This is all based on your own personal choice, and resons. If you dont own a cypress the whole unconcious theory kinda dissapears, if your asleep you cant pull, so you dont need a reserve. My suggestion is buy something that will cary your weight, ie a 1.1 or better wingloading. Landing a F111 7cell isnt as easy as you think, its a lot difft than landing a responsive Zp canopy. Also contact PD they will demo you a reserve to use as a main, so you can see how your reserve will fly, it will surprise you how well Pd reserves fly, but they are still difft. If you have an oportunity try to fly a raven, they sometimes are used as mains, you will see why PD reserves rule! Dont just listen to me, look, around and ask lots of questions. Yeah and FullFace helmets make me clostrophobic, and scare me. Tell you what you can jump my rig and I will wear your helmet. Really, its a great canopy, I have a 90 and a 96 also, they are all good. But the 84 opens amazingly beautifull. But for practical reasons, the 90 is more suitable for what I do, more range. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Yep I owe beer! My new V3 304 Micron is here, I packed her up, the other day, and I got to do my first jumps, Round 1 of the Nationals. Every option even the Skyhook.
