Pete Alum beat Jay on the Distance round at the last Deland swoop meet, with a swoop of 418 ft. The amazing thing is Pete is strictly a 180 flyer. Also Shannon Pilcher favors the 270 and he holds the current world record (which pete tied). I dont think its exactly the amount of turn its more how clean you fly and how well you set up. Its not the carbon fiber that makes a bonehead bakeable, its the resin. Carbon fiber and Fiberglass mixed with apropriate resin's has a certain "Glass transition temperature" The temperature is different based on the resin used, some resins are High temp, while some cheaper ones are room temp. Also one thing a lot of people dont know is Boneheads arent truly carbon fiber, they have a carbon outside and a fiberglass inside, I have seen some models made with a layer of Kevlar. Its an easy fix, call skydive Deland and ask for Edson, he has a ton of Pc1's for parts, and I am almost 100% sure he has a few focus rings, his frankensony has been rebuilt so many times I cant count. But the Focus ring is easy to change and even you can do it, also you can get a manual on how to do it from Sony, but the web site is hard to navigate, its a little easier to get teh # from them and wait on hold for an hour to order it. I know this isnt the stolen gear forum, but I thought that it would get a lot more views this way. Dag from the Norgies was at a boogie in Puerto Rico last weekend, and the car that he had all his gear was broken into. Both of his rigs were stolen, two Javelins with Norgie colors One containing a Velocity 84 and one with a 90. Both canopies were the Pd green with one red end cell. You should start a Poll or post something for this: Pd has a checklist that they have to checkoff for every canopy that is made before it is sold. I think that would be a great thing for the public, or at least for riggers to have, maybe we could get it on their web site to download or print. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I think Scott Miller has never jumped a skyhook, I might be wrong he might have tried it once, but I dont think so. The test jumper was Louis Palomares, and the canopy was a saber 107. For test jumps for Rws the only Velocity I can think of used was my Ve96. The cool thing they did do , was hook the saber 107 up backwards and buried a toggle. I shot video of a bunch of test jumps it always amazed me how fast it worked, and one thing that most peope dont know, is the Reserves most of the time were regular pro packs. When I jumped the skyhook I tried to get as unstable as possible while cutting away, it opened perfectly, it actually turned me straight as I was spinning. IF you do a search, Archers use a special wax for their vectran bowlines. I have used this as a test and it worked great, except it took forever to treat a whole line set. The wax has a UV inhibitor, as well as a repellant for sand and dirt. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

This week, a jumper was doing a 2 way from the skyvan, and didnt launch himself back far enough, the result was a faceplant into the floor of the plane. He broke a lot of his front teeth and punctured his top lip. Last I heard he was scheduled for plastic surgery and a dentist. Its all based on the code, I by no means am a programmer so that confuses me, but Im jumping 3 neptunes and the current open to the public push works great, alti 2 just wants it to be perfect, Ive even told them how my other logging dytter's read wrong and they arent happy until everything works great, keep your eyes, open, but I recomend buying one I love mine and wont go back to a normal altimiter. Give kim some time, Im sure she has her hands full, with the emails just alone, I also can vouch that I saw her at the dz immediately after the incedent, trying to find out what happened. Also she is just an employee, so she has to wait for the results to come back from the manufacturer, and for the owner to decide what the press or public release of what happened. Also Vigil Usa also claims that there has only been one misfire, the other two they have a answer for. I have my own opinions on them and I hold them back and keep them more open until I can talk to someone from vigil that can show me the results, and if they wont show me the results then I will feel free to make my own opinion with the best knowledge that I have already. As far as the problems people are talking about, I am very active in the testing of the Neptune, and here is one thing everyone is leaving out. The neptune as an altimiter or as a Dytter works perfectly fine, its the logging that has the problem, and that is only for the display for the unit. When downloaded to your computer from what I have seen it is perfectly fine. If people only did skydives like freefly and belly the product would have no problem. Its extremely hard to program a unit to determine a plane desending and an exit, with a hop and pop or birdman, especially with a short delay before pull. and also a birdman jump. One thing for sure is Roger and Kat are right on top of it working constantly to provide a top nothch product. That said, I also own 3 pro-trac's and they screw up my non normal jumps on a routine basis, So nothing is perfect, I never had a Neptune or a Pro-trac not work at the right altitude but the logging is difft, I can say that the ability to upgrade software so easily from the neptune, and the strong desire for Alti-2 to work and provide a great product, makes me very happy with the company. Id love to hear a reply from a pro-trac owner saying how he has had funky readings from his unit. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

When I was around 12 years old me and my family were taking a trip from Miami to Ohio, somewhere in bumfunkt Virginia our car took a shit. I remember being a kid in a town without a game room (remember them?) so instead being from flat florida I went exploring the woods and rock formations. I came across this real old cemetary, and after looking around the oldest person there out of maybe 200 graves was 16, and the worse thing was it was from 1902 to 1912, how I remember that I dont know and how I remember this is even worse but it has been forever embeded in my head, all the tombstones were basic stones laid flat but on the oldest girl there was a monument and on all sides there was a poem, I remember it to this day ( actually its in a song now but the song came out a long long time after.) here is the poem, Im real curious where it came from, because I had many nightmares because of it as a kid, Remember friends as you pass by, you are now as once was I, As I am you soon shall be, prepare for Death and follow me. safe to say I bolted the cemetary and ran all the way back to the hotel. Its called a "sitontheground 135" If you use it, you never get a hard opening. Canopies are made of fabric and lines, and all function because of the laws of physic's. There will never be a canopy made that wont potentially slam you, while some are more consistent they all will at one time wake you up when opening. I for one love my Velocity openings, but I have heard a few people complain about them, no canopy will keep 100% of the people happy. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

It works fine, and a lot safer than having a ring site. I have tons of jumps with a ring site, and when I needed to borrow a buddies helmet because he had a Pal camera, I had to use a dot, couldnt tell the difference with the video. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
