  1. So he did this on his first jump on that canopy? I doubt the mesuring standard had much to do with this, instead his desire to downsize to fast, combined with his inexperience. If the canopy was too small for him to safely fly, he would have known it after a jump or two, if he continued to fly it, then nothing is to blame but him. 2. I already commited at the Pink Mafia boogie, can you get as many cute girls there for the bird boogie, how bout a Pink Bird boogie? Either way, all you have to say is Perty at Wendys, and Im there, who needs to skydive? Im there just for the party. Well unless we can watch south park also. 3. You getting a refund? From what I hear from the industry that advertises on dz.com, dz.com gets 20,000 hits a day, and that is what they base their desire to advertise there, that said, Sangrio could and should work with that and use that to up the cost to advertise there, with skydiving magazine and parachutist reaching so many people every month, Dz.com reaches almost as much every week. There is a lot of potential, to make money and make a web site that apeals to the everyone that looks at it. Hiring someone that can manage advertising, and such would be a great investment, there is a lot of potential, all that needs to happen now is to work with the product. 20,000 hits a day, if that is the # is a lot to work with. There is a lot of very profitable web sites that wish they could acheive that status. Im predicting that dz.com Talk back returns in full force. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  4. That is because when we ask them if they want any factory updates they said yes. I dont want to mislead people, and I think people should make up their ownmind, you should go to Deland and talk to Ron Solo , he had his bag modified and he asked them not to, when he asked for the old design he was told not possible, he then had to find a masterrigger to remodify his bag back to the old design. Like I said maybe you have changed this practice since then, and if it has then I gave the oportunity to let us know. Safe unsafe, my perception? I agree with you, but in your previous posts you mention how dangerous the shock cord design is very strongly, so Im wondering why you would sell something you feel so unsafe?. 5. Shock cord on locking stows have caused baglocks on reserve freebags. The speed bag main bag and freebag use rubber bands to prevent bag lock. Rubber bands will break under force where shock cord will not. Every stow is a locking stow to prevent bag strip and line dump in high-speed deployments. This system has had a zero failure rate in thousands of jumps. In addition, another manufacture has adopted its own version of a speed bag freebag and another is being tested. The shock cord has caused baglocks on reserve freebags? When? I cant find an incedent anywhere. Help me out, with so many manufacturers using the shock cord, has there ever been a case of a bag lock due to the shock cord? Add up all the reserve rides that will equal many thousands, I think that will prove shock cord is a fairly good design. Saying that your design is proven becuase you have thousands of jumps on it works, but it also hurts saying the old design isnt as good, or can cause problems, (ie line dump, baglock) because there has been many thousands of jumps on the shock cord, freestow design. There has been hard openings with the freestow design, but until there has been as many jumps on your design as the freestow design, the jury is still out. Added: I like the new racer, I think they are working hard to make a good container, the freestow/stowed bag, is something you will have to make up your own mind on, there is many arguments for both sides. 6. The safety stow is still standard on all Reserve bags unless you ask for the other option. Can you get the freebag with the old/conventional safety stow if requested? Yes you can and there is no additional charge for it either. It's like Burger King, you can have it your way Must be a new practice, I know a few people that had to go to riggers to have thier freebags (Re-modified) after they sent their Racers in for repack and got their bag changed to a rubber band stow. And when they asked for the old design they were told no. Maybe this policy has changed, and if it has for sure, then you can tell us about it. I do know that Jumpshack doesn't care for the safety stow at all, so I dont see them selling something they dont believe in. Curious, sell something that you feel unsafe, or stick to your guns and back up your design? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  7. Well, what is it? And Dz.com is a no brainer, try and be more open, what is your favorite web site other than dz.com? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  8. Im a hook and Swooper, and I will be the first to admit the stupid things Ive done, especially if people can learn from my mistakes, and not follow in my footsteps. Metal, yep I have plenty, as well as a limp that will never go away. Getting a swooper to admit mistakes is a lot easier, than getting someone that really wants to do it to listen. As much as I hate repeating myself telling the same old thing to people all the time, I prefer to talk to people and help them out, a lot more than watching them carried off the dz on a stretcher. Freeflyers, Relative workers, swoopers ect, im sure everyone will offer tips and advice if you just ask. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  9. What kind of coaching? Freefly, belly, birdman, canopy, beer drinking. I dont charge for Beerdrinking coaching but I do want a few aspirine the next day. But I thought you would get a better answer if people knew exactly what you were looking for, also there is the Tunnel coach option if your going to be in Florida. 10. I did a bunch of Jumps on the Nitron when the Stilletto 107 was my canopy of choice, I felt it didnt dive nearly as much as the stilletto, and I was doing back to backs with a 107 stilletto and a 99 nitron. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  11. Ok we all have farmer Mcnasty stories, I myself had to get the police to recover my cutaway. What I dont understand is why would someone be so upset that someone landed in their yard, that they would run someone over. Let alone try and damage someones gear, or steal it. I dont care for people to walk through my yard if I dont know them, but I dont call the police on them if they do, or threaten them, or damage their shoes or whatever. I know they must not understand that we cant plan where our cutaways land, or we dont want to land in their yards, but wtf. There is a thought that we scare their cows, but the same people that dont want their cows scared, drive off road vehicles around them all day. Why does it piss some people off that we might land in their yards, when others are so apt, to recover our mains and also offer a ride back to the dz. I do know of some dz's where its well known that a returned canopy fetches a reward, that the locals are more than happy to chase down a cutaway and return it, maybe we could all work on public relations a little, or at least lynch the assholes that run people over for landing in their yard. 13. If someone was planning on a Bird-Man boogie what would be the best time of the year for it. And do you have any ideas on the special events. Maybe build the largest flock ever ect. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  14. Sadly so, the only dz that cares about swoopers is Zhills, very swooper friendly, lets hope its contagious. There is a rumor that Lake Wales is moving that way. Guess all of the Florida swoopers will have 2 places to jump. Glad both are only 2 hours away from where I live. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  21. If you have the Money go with the Canon 15mm, if not then get the Sigma 15. With film camera's your camera is only as good as the Lens, if you have a $1000 camera and a $100 lens you have a camera that is going to take $100 pictures. The Rebel is a pretty good Digital, and a cheap lens will only take cheap pictures. I have a Canon 20 that I have used on my digital Rebel, I find it a little small, for what I am used to, I much prefer the Sigma 15, and as soon as I can afford one, I think Im going to get the Canon 15. 22. This happening, sorrows me, and confuses me even more. Joe as long as I have known him, which is as long as I have been jumping, he has owned my respect and admiration, as a skydiver, and even more as a person. He has spent more time away from the sport than most people that jump have been in this sport, and he still had 40 years jumping. This is where he had my respect, he knew more about skydiving than I will ever know, and he was more than happy to share it. Even thought he was old school, he was one of the few that would want to learn new things. Joe was an active freeflyer, and would always want to do a freefly jump, when most would limit themselves to what they have done. This happening confuses me, because the Joe I knew was very happy, we hung out sunday and he had a huge smile on his face and didnt have a care in the world, he had hugs for everyone. I dont know why he would do this, I am sure he thought he had a good reason, but this is a tragic loss, not just to the skydiving community, but to everyone that had the chance to meet him. Joe was a great person, and everyone that was blessed enough to meet him will miss him dearly. I will never know why Joe did this, but I will always miss Joe and wish he hadn't.
