    My first rig (and still is my rig) was my brother's, which I hansomly purchsed (a nice J-1 that fits me like a glove). He had a custom-made plate put into the chest harness on the left side with a velcro pad for the altimeter, so I would never forget my altimeter, all I had was to look at my chest (he used it for skysurfing so he woudn't have to adjust his hand positions). I was really extatic when I bought it... and I went to DZ.com and got a Sabre2-170 /w 50 jumps from a pretty cool Southwest pilot (think his name was Wade?) and took out the pink stiletto 150 that was in it (I'll never jump a HP canopy anyway, I like my femur very much) ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES!     nope I'm not from Texas..just had move here for my job..don't care much for Texas. It sucks Where did they locate you? The "damn queers" is almost certain dead ringer East Texas saying.     No you're right. Imagine it this way: if you were inside a big hard plastic bubble that was freefalling in your skydive, you'd be feeling almost weightless... like the Vomit Comet. Ever been in the Sears Tower in Chicago? The elevator ride down from the observation floor gives you a taste of that effect. However once you pull.....     Got calls from two of my friends at Deland today and they said they're actually getting prepared this time. I was there during Charley and we were NOT ready! We thought it was going straight for Tampa, but Charley changed course and headed straight towards Central Florida including Daytona Beach/Deland. Ugh! I hope and pray that Jeanne is just a little rubbish cleanup like we had after Charley That's good. I'm sure if anyone has pending orders with Jump Shack they'll be nice and courteous and give them time (say, several months) to catch up!

    There are heavy people (to me heavy is a BMI 24 or higher) who skydive quite a bit, usually jumping large Sabres and such (though seen a pretty big guy navigating a very skinny looking Stiletto once in Nevada). I know several who jump quite a lot, and their attitute and personality make them much more popular at any DZ than the skinny competitive braggarts. I for one used to be HUGE... I was packing on 235 onto a 6' frame with a 41-42"w, and I was still somewhat big even when I started jumping (200lbs). I managed to fix all that over 5 years, got down to 160, 30"w and 15" arms and I am happy that I've improved. But, I don’t take any comments I get about what I look like seriously.
