  1. If you usually get 40-60 pics, you have the correct switch. What happens when you only get 2? If I have a camera malfunction, it is usually caused by the plug coming out a little.. I use fully automatic on the ground except for my lens which is a manual Zenitar.. In the air, I shoot on tv at 640 on most days and slow it down a little when it is darker.. chopchop gotta go... 2. As much as I'd like to sport my "banana hammock" at the dz, I am afraid I'll still be in Baltimore this weekend.. and since Lany is not there and there probably won't be many pictures, you can always say it never happened.. you all have fun without us though, ok? chopchop gotta go... 3. Sorry Mikey.. we're in Baltimore.. wish we could be there.. last year was really awesome.. and heart-wrenching. You guys celebrate Paul's life and hug his family for us.. They are incredible.
  4. It's working for Plaything and I.. but it's because she takes a healthy interest (and a lot of pictures) in skydiving, has become part of our dz family, and can't wait until she can jump. I can't wait either.. At least we'll get to play in the tunnel together at the end of the month.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  5. You need a switch with a stereo plug instead of a mono plug. I knew that all along but recently my tongue switch was sticking and I ran upstairs to the gear store and grabbed a new one.. figured out in the plane that it was a mono.. I learned how to use my hand to reach up and take pics in freefall.. I went back to my sticking switch after that.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  6. oops.. sorry, Lisa.. I misread your post.. I thought you were saying they were not taking any responsibility.. Glad to hear they are.. really I am.. it incensed me that they were doing it again.. happy to hear they are not.. Hell.. I'll even take back some of the things I said about them.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  7. I agree with you Tim. No one intentionally makes a mistake or a faulty product. However, on occasion, pretty much everyone does. The difference between a manufacturer like SunPath and a manufacturer that I would deal with more than once is whether they stand behind their product when a mistake is made... As I said, everyone makes mistakes. As the manufacturer, it is their job to own up to it and fix it. In my limited time in skydiving, only 4 years, I have not been witness to them doing that.. quite the opposite actually.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  8. Somehow I knew SunPath would not take responsibility.. World's greatest shirkers.. Ahh.. well.. Lisa, welcome to the club of paying for SunPath's mistakes. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  9. Congrats, you two! So... when's the big day?
  10. ok.. so I got to demo the vision this weekend and a smaller Pilot.. both 140s loaded at just over 1.9:1.. I put 6 jumps on the Vision and 4 on the Pilot.. We got winded out today.. Anyway.. my observations follow.. The Pilot.. good all around canopy.. the front riser pressure is kinda high and builds fast but makes up for that with the ability to get back from a long spot, soft openings (camera fliers and AFF instructors will like those qualities) and a huge flare.. Very nice canopy.. I will be ordering a couple of them tomorrow. The Vision is ground hungry. You release the brakes and prepare to land.. Although it could be a lot of fun, it is trimmed pretty steep and would be tough to get back from a long spot.. Also, the openings, while soft, were seldom on heading. A nice 180 degree riser turn took about 600 feet resulting in a sweet swoop but.. you have to work fast to be in the right spot at the right time.. Bottom line, I'd order one of each if I didn't want to have 2 of the same canopy. These are 2 radically different wings. To answer Nico's question, if you are not in a big hurry to get to the ground and you don't want a radical canopy, don't get a Vision. I do highly recommend a Pilot with a high wingloading.. and from what I have seen around our dz, it is a great canopy for young jumpers with a low wing loading as well... chopchop gotta go... 11. :10:0 nice day in byron yesterday... got winded today.. 9 tandem vids and one freefly jump.. got to put 6 jumps on a Vision 140 and 4 on a Pilot 140.. I think I'll get a couple of Pilots.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  12. Even in byron we call it at 32.. What were they thinking? chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  13. Us? Nuh uh... We photoshopped those pictures.. yeah, that's it.. and I didn't take that pilot 150 outta there, hook it up to my voodoo and put 8 jumps on it neither.. Pay no attention to the newly broken in dive loops on those risers.. Everything is just how you left it... Reeeealllyyy... OK, OK.. we did it.. but it was Geno's fault..
  14. Prettiest girl to ever don a skydiving rig IMHO... 'course I may be a little biased.. You're beautiful, sweetie.. Have I told you that lately? chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
  15. Hey Nico, I haven't jumped the Vision yet. I will this coming weekend. Saturday i jumped a Pilot 150. Next weekend, I will jump a Pilot 140 and a Vision 140.. It's been a long time since I jumped a Saffire so the only thing I can compare them to would be a Stiletto. My last 500 plus jumps have been on Stiletto 150s and anything I jumped previously isn't fresh enough in my mind to use as a comparison. I really really liked the Pilot though. It was a very pleasant surprise.
  16. Put 8 jumps on a Pilot 150 yesterday.. Nice canopy.. Not as responsive as a Stiletto and a little higher front riser pressure but it made up for that in awesome openings and huge flare after long swoops.. I generally go about 70 yards in no wind on my Stilettos with a 180.. I was doing that easily on the Pilot by my third jump on it.. I look forward to jumping the 140 and the Vision 140 next weekend.. PS.. This is a very easy canopy to get dialed in on.. very forgiving for young jumpers but has nice performance for experienced jumpers. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. 17. :10:0 Well.. I am flying to FL again today so my jumping weekend is over.. Had a good day yesterday with 6 tandem vids, a reserve side AFF a couple of freefly jumps with Iwan and a Mad John tracking dive.. i also demoed a Pilot 150 and what a sweet canopy.. nice openings and sick swoops.. It was very easy to get dialed in on this canopy loaded at 1.8 it had a tremendous bottom end flare.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures

  19. I'm demoing the Pilot and Visions next weekend.. Both of them will be 140s loaded at just shy of 2 : 1... I'll let you guys know my thoughts after.. Currently I jump Stiletto 150s loaded at 1.8.. 540 jumps on them. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
