  1. Yeah.. it does rock.. In Byron, we charge a little extra for digital stills but the customer gets soooo much more.. 36 shots on a roll or between 80 or 90 on a cd. We will stop offering film when Clay (the guy that owns the vid concession) runs out of film. Clay provides a nifty machine that burns the whole flash card onto a cd in a couple of minutes and the cds. We get to take our pics home with us and learn continuously and immediately what to change to make our pictures better. BTW.. we all grumble when we have to strap on our fim cameras now.. gotta count the shots to make sure we have shots left for landing, don't get to see what we did.. grumble,grumble..oldschool..grumble,grumble.. chopchop gotta go... 3. Great work, Viking. Love all 3 of them.
  4. There are a lot of good ideas on here so as not to lose the asset that will make you money faster than about any other investment. But, before you make such a radical decision just for skydiving, make sure you guys really like it. To do that, I'd either find a way to pinch some pennies or maybe do a refi. If there are other reasons, that's cool, but it's really too early in your skydiving careers to know if you really love it. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures

  8. Of course, changing by one canopy every hundred jumps would be silly.. if that's what you were saying. But if you fly something at 1.1:1 for your first couple hundred jumps and then something at 1.3 for a few hundred.. and then progress to a 1.5 or 1.6 for another 400 or so, I think people can learn their canopies, stay right around Brian's recommendations, and be ready to deal with higher wingloadings... if they so desire. And, yes, it is fun to fly faster canopies, but as you well know, most people downsize before they find out how fast their canopy can go. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. 9. an outside spooner that's very close to you.. How did the discussion of TGs sleeping preferences come up? If you just needed to know, that is ok. The outer was very vocal about it.. just telling anyone that would listen.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures

  12. I think the chart is good. I have been at or around his never to exceed numbers my whole skydiving career.. over by a point or two at times and below at times.. It is a good guideline and I believe anyone exceeding it dramatically is asking for trouble. There is soo much to learn in canopy control that I don't believe anyone can really max out a canopy's potential much quicker than the guideline suggests so if that is true, what is the point of downsizing faster? chopchop gotta go... 14. It's been a couple of years. I really don't remember doing anything special to fix it. It scared the crap out of me so as a result, I became more altitude aware and a little more careful about what I got myself into. I still have it and use it but in one of my helmets, I can barely hear it. It's a great tool, but it can cause serious problems when people rely on it too much. Earlier this year, it fried completely and jumping without it for a while while waiting for the replacement helped also. It has become much more of a background noise now than a signal to me. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures

  17. OK, here's mine.. around jump 230 or so, I got in over my head.. I was on an organized 7 way sitfly jump in Perris. The kicker was we were supposed to track away on our backs.. I had no experience backtracking. Also my Pro-Track batteries were low.. I knew this but it didn't matter at the time. And finally, I was way too reliant on my audible at that time. So.. breakoff came, heard my audible, and started tracking.. well, started trying to figure out how to track on my back.. didn't feel like I was going anywhere but kept trying, my batteries died after the 4,500' beeps so no 3,000 beeps. Finally I got friustrated and flipped over. The earth was huge. I could see rocks. I pitched before I understood what I was looking at. Somewhere in the snivel my cypress fired and I ended up landing a biplane. It hurt like a bitch. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures

  19. Not all POPS have beerguts.. Not all POPS have beards.. Not all POPS have creaking joints.. nor do all POPS yell at kids.. Not all POPS have wrinkles.. or gray hair or memory loss.. Not all POPS drive in the slow lane.. or fly Spectres.. Not all POPS are belly fliers.. but some are fat cranky wrinkled Spectre-flying belly fliers with gray hair and beards with creaky joints that drive their Caddys slow in the fast lane while trying to remember what the name of that exit was.. All POPS have two things in common.. they were born on or before 1964.. and have made at least one skydive.. Any more questions, youngun? chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking..
