i started with AFF. if you are not sure you like it, try a tandem first. i was sure, and i thought (and still think) tandem is a waste of money. i first signed up for a S/L, but after talking to a few people, switched to AFF, and i'm very happy i did. it costs more but i think its worth it... can you post a pic of it ? i'm no rigger but i can at least compare it to mine. is it normal for the rigger who is supposed to take care of your rig not to know things like that ? oh, and good chooice with the wings, you'll love it O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

actually on the AP website (www.ap.org) "explosion and fire aboard a cruise ship docked in miami kill 4 crew members, injure 20" but i guess it was an accident after all. (hmm now also on cnn.com) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

knowing skydivers, you can spend a lot of time at the DZ, write a report and hand it over as an anthropological study... you might get a Ph.D for that... o "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

while planning the Land of israel , god talked to some of his angels... "look at the lands i'm about to create, it would be beautiful with high mountains with dense forests, it will have green fields with heavenly fruits, it will flow with milk and honey in a central position with an ocean view..." " dont you think you are being to kind to these people?" - asked the angels... "no" said god, "wait and see what i'm going to put there as their neighbors..." yes and no. security checks ? yes, they can be a hassle for non-israelis. i'm not sure taking your rig is a good idea but if you have a planned visit, with places to stay, you wont have any problems (especially if you are a US citizen). just take with you addresses, names and phone numbers of your friends. very wrong. we currently have 1 active DZ (another currently closed). it has lots of open fields, no woods and really no problem to land safely. the only serious incident in the past few years was the result of a tragic plane crash. i'm sure you'll enjoy jumping here and you can either rent/borrow a rig while you are here

ok... sp many replies to write to so many people first of all, as you know (or not) i'm from israel so i can give you an insider's look. 1. its NOT as risky as you might think after watching CNN (keep in mind its only news when something blows up...) 2. i may not recommend it as a relaxation trip these days, but there is no problem being here, especially when you know where to be and have local friends here. 3. if you have any other questions, i'd be happy to help you O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

as i said , i'm in class and bored... whats your excuse for being a smartass so early in the morning ??? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

ok that what happens when i write one sentence, take a break and then finish the rest what i meant to say was that in a modern engineering way the design of the final product is as important (if not more) than the technology behind it. by "design" i'm not just talking about how it looks, but mainly on ease of use, minimal downtime and "overall customer experience" the US is working in that direction too but it got onboard later than other countries (not that it wont catch up...) P.S you can pick on me as much as you want, i'm in class and bored anyway ... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

How many jumps before you purchased your own rig?
falxori replied to Skylark's topic in Safety and Training
ordered it around 15-20 , got it around 35. you should add 0-50 in the poll why? i knew i was going to keep doing it. at the time , there were many job cuts where i work (1500 out of 5500) and i promised myself a new rig if i survive. still working there, and have a new rig "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
just remember that if you print it out, do it at work... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i can also argue with myself about that their problem is/was is that they didnt evolve as a consumer market. modern engineering takes consumer UI as one of the most important factors, which leads to better customer experience which leads to a bigger market which leads to more money which as you said, allow better R&D budget. speaking of technology, one of the US major mistakes was allowing countries like Japan and germany to copy their inventions, and create better products. a very good example is the car industry. just on a sidenote, usually, russian engineering is much better than any western designs, its the maintenance (and consumer experience) they lack... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

very true, and not only in AQ case, so what do you do? find a way to make them think terror will not gain them anything... any ideas? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

actually 3. the santorini - a relative small one with a couple of tons. the Karin A - a huge one with about 50 tons , and also the reason why Arafat was thrown out by the US (he promised he had nothing to do with it and intelegence clearly proved otherwise) and now this (Abu-Hassan if i got it right) , don't know how big it is,... Israel seizes arms boat off Lebanon Hizballah weapons possibly bound for Palestinian groups Reuters JERUSALEM, May 22 — Israel’s navy seized a fishing boat loaded with arms being smuggled by Lebanese Hizballah guerrillas off the Lebanon coast and towed it to the northern Israeli port of Haifa, security sources said Thursday. http://www.msnbc.com/news/801833.asp?0cv=CB10 and from local news, there was a Hizballah mastermind onboard equiped with course meterial (CDs and noted) on how to use this load to make rockets. just a reminder, Hizballah is a Syrian/Iranian backed organization. not backing up terror, yeah right,,, whatever.
