either adaware as mentioned above, or spybot search and destroy. both are good and spybot also immunes your systems against some of that crap. good hunting O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

no problem anyway, if something happens, i can always sue Bill O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

helmet is a good thing to own... at $10-15 i see no reason not to get goggles at this point. alti is the first thing you'd want if you plan on keep jumping (used is ok, especially if you can get a purple one ) jumpsuit? depends, i still don't own one. after that (if you stick with jumping), i got my complete rig, and when i could afford it, got a dytter too. thanks, good thread. i'm not sure exactly where i grab them, i just reached up and grabbed where it felt good... i'll play with it and see what works out best O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

thanks Bill, i'll practice some more high, and when the time is right i'll do it (winds were pretty low lately...) one more thing, i know its a matter of personal preference, but is there a "right" place to grab the rear risers? my instincts say "grab where your arms feel comfortable" but i dont know, maybe it would be better to grab them near the links because its less likely to slip away ? Neverendless question - Wings,Javelin,Javelin Odyssey

oh, that really sux. i've heard it happen with most gear manufactures, but its never fun when it happens to you. i hope they'll fix you up like their reputation says they would O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
yeap, talking to the locals is always a good idea and usualy there's enough work than packers. like everything, it might be tough until they get to know you and trust your pack jobs, but i'm sure it will work out O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

such as? when i got mine there was a broken stich on the main lift web. my rigger told me it happens (shouldn't but it does) anyway, beside that, they were great, shipped it back from israel (even though i ordered it in the US) and send it back to me a few days later. i forgave them [inline face.gif] edit: damn smiley won't show here "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
i dont know how it is in DZs like perris but i would say , know you and trust your packing abilities. you should also consider the reaction of the local packers, i'm not sure showing up and offering pack jobs in half price will make you popular... but i pack for myself so what do i know O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

hmm, good point... would it be a good idea to practice rear riser landings? i mean, i've tried flaring with rear risers up high many times, but never actually landed with them. i'm ready to do it if i have to, but i dont know if it would be a good idea to risk crashing while practicing... Creating embryos to serve as stem cell donors...
falxori replied to Lindsey's topic in Speakers Corner
we already do it in a way, maybe not for a particular use, but even today you scan in advance for many genetic illness , messing with the natural odds. where is the line between avoiding illness and chossing eye color and height ? we each have our own answer... Creating embryos to serve as stem cell donors...

Creating embryos to serve as stem cell donors...

i dont know. if i could save my child by having another, without causing any harm to the new born child, and if i'll be able to support this child and love him/her just as i would love any of my children, i think i would go for it. anyway, as long as no harm is done to the baby, i think the moral issues, like abortions should be left to the parents. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
usually its not that part that gets dirty (unless you REALLY roll in the mud), so white there (on the reserce top) should be ok... the colors looks good but you need to improve your erasing abilities with paint's eraser... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

oh ok.. i dont know why i was under the impression you were going for a whole hour. i know the one in paris is very good but if you want basic RW training you can consider other, less powerful, tunnels that might be cheaper. i dont think i'd go to paris just for the wind tunnel, but if you're already there and can afford it, go for it. i chose to save the money and jump more in Agen (which is a cool DZ near bordeaux) but enjoy O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

first advice, check the prices. you might find that with a cheap flight it will be the same as going to orlando. from what i remember the prices in paris are very high (65 euro for 2.5 minutes if i remember right) in orlando its: "One Hour Block $600.00 " so unless i'm missing something, its more than twice as much... where do i apply for such a title ? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

Excess brake line came out of the finger trap and...
falxori replied to lewmonst's topic in Safety and Training
i think i'm missing something. if the brakes were unstowed, where did you have excess brake line? i'm pretty sure you're not talking aout the excess line left after stowing the breaks, but thats the only kind i know of. can you clearify? yeap, caused a few hard landings on my first few jumps there last month anyway, glad you walked away in one piece O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
you're right , but if this is true: i doubt any tighter security would have cought it O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

Creating embryos to serve as stem cell donors...
falxori replied to Lindsey's topic in Speakers Corner
i think this line in the article will help : "The chosen embryos "were allowed to be born so they could donate tissue to benefit someone else." my question would be different, what is the effect on the new born child? if its taking a heart so it could be transplanted in someone, i.e taking the child's life to save his brother, then no. but if its something like "stem cells from the umbilical cord blood " or even "donating bone marrow" which has no long term effect on the donor, thats ok in my book. but i dont know where the line is, dpepends on who you ask... as for the psychological effect, i think its a matter of how you present it while the child is growing up. i think i'd be honored to know i've saved the life of someone close to me. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
how's the safety issues there ? i'm talking about things like gear checks, spots, exit order/seperation etc. in some DZs i've been you can pretty much do whatever you want while in some DZs the staff keeps things in order. we might be planning a trip to kolomna in the summer and i guess it will be pretty busy then... the Mi-8 looks fun O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

falxori replied to extreme's topic in Gear and Rigging
i don't like the finishing touch on the jav. the wings is not the best i've seen but its pretty good. i like a more "streamlined" rig and wings does the job for me (and the price is right too) i also liked the micron and even PdF's legend looks cool. then again, i'm a bit biased... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
you're right, its 160 i dont know why i remembered 163... old age, i guess O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
