i have no problem with that. but a social organization that runs schools doesnt need a private army and explosives labs, right? there were made by Israel, not the PA. i agree. so far, since the declaration of the cease fire several areas were handed back to the PA security forces, many road blocks have been lifted, more palestinian workers are allowed to work in israel and 500 prisoners (involved in minor terror acts or acts that failed) were released. the PA did do a few things, but they were very clear that they will not confront the armed groups directly. Israel is not likely to respond with force to this attack and will give the PA another chance, but our patience has its limits. i have no desire to "send an aircraft" anywhere, but for this process to move forward, there has to be one legal armed force there, not 5 different groups, each with its own agenda. not to mention that some are controlled by syria and Iran. i actually do believe that the current PA wants to maintain the peace. the question is whether they are ready to take control of their own people. -
would you? i don't want them to deal with those responsible, i want them to stop those who are planing the next terror attack. just "agreeing" with them without taking out their terror infrastructure is simply not enough. and as for Hezbollah's involevment, the address is syria and Iran, not only the PA. i went to sleep early last night, this is not the kind of news i wanted to wake up to O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

actually Xkeys was on our list... but we're coming from Israel and flights all the way to the US during the summer are too expensive tell Jonathan and Sarah we said Hi (if they're still there...) thanks Ori "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yes, and thats exactly why they chose to attack israel at the moment in an indirect way (giving tons of weapons to hizbollah for example). if OBL got a nuke, you wouldn't know if it came from Iran, Saudi arabia, or bought independently from another country. one risk doesn't make the other go away. "lost" radioactive materials are a huge risk and is irresponsible. but there is a difference between losing stuff and arming someone knowingly. both are a threat. and i dont think they'll have a problem with "sending a crew to their deaths" or "controlling it remotely". i dont remember any of the 9/11 planes being controlled remotely. i think both are risks that should be considered. if one nuke explodes, how do you know they had only one? wouldnt a video tape be more effective after they've proved they can do it? after all, no one took their video tapes too seriously before 9/11. you have no idea how wrong you are about that. turkey is an ally of israel, but so was Iran before the revolution. Israel is believed to have had nukes since the 60's, until now it didnt even admit it let alone share it. and at this point, the US holds nukes in turkey. if turkey really wants them they can easily take them by force. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

there is one flaw in this theory. the USSR and the US were 2 countries with a specific list of targets to hit in case any of them starts a war. today's war is doesnt have a "return address". if a nuke blows up half of manhattan, how do you know who put it there? as i said in other posts, i dont think Iran will use nukes directly, but i think its more than possible that nukes or radioactive leftovers will reach the wrong hands operating in the name of allah (or at least their twisted views of it...) i've met a whole lot of british in elsinore last april that came as a group. thats actually where we got the idea for a group trip... and we were 30+ in kolomna last august. now looking for the location of our next trip O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

thank you all for replying. i just got a call for my travel agent saying that since its mid july, there is no way of getting a really good deal on flights (even if we're a lot of people), and mid summer flights from israel would make it a lot less appealing for a lot of people . but it could be a good time to start planning a winter version of this trip... i liked the NZ idea very much thanks O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

actually, you're watching the european/world version of CNN, which is completely different O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

Hi people. i'm organizing a skydiving trip for about 30-50 (maybe more) people around the end of July. i need some ideas on which DZs could be suitable where the main requirements are: - capacity - we want to jump and jump a lot. - weather - too hot and humid is not fun. - price - 50 jumpers, 2 weeks= a lot of jumps... how low can we get the jumps for? and any other consideration that might be relevant. last year we went to Kolomna, russia and it was great, but we want to check a few US DZs too. thanks O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

wasn't there a thread a few days ago about dress code laws in Iran ? i think the best solution is simply to leave the underwear at home. that way it won't be showing... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

true. there is a different feeling about it this time. buts its too soon to be optimistic. when terror attack can take it all down, and its not like they've stopped trying (especially hamas, sponsored by Iran). problem is that unless they (PA) actually pick up the ball and destroy all terror infrastructure, they'll only use this break to get back on their feet and reorganize for the next round. sorry, i'm trying to be optimistic, but its not so easy based on words alone. as some have already mentioned, its more of an internal clock than what the ground looks like at different altitudes. its ok to use it (we all do) but you have to know how it works so you'll know when it presents an additional risk. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

that was nasty... but still funny O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i remember there was a big store with star trek crap in the hilton hotel in vegas (there's a trek ride there) its a long shot, but i've seen a lot of people walk out with pretty strange stuff... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yeap, thats why my ex was french and not american "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

you compare women in Iran that have to dress modest to women in the US that can go on a wet Tshirt contest or be a stripper, if they chose to. its all about setting your own borders. thats why i dont like for example the new laws in france that say what you can and can not wear. and another point, i dont think its islamic specific, the same exist in all religions. the difference is the form of government (religious based or not) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
if you do that, I suggest letting someone with more experience see it too. not sure its a good idea to judge this alone at 43 jumps... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yeap, and sadly, it seems to be part of human nature. we all have the same defect at some level. one important thing that is different in this genocide (not that other examples are less horrific) is that it wasn't a fight about land (like bosnia, ruwanda) or culture (the german jews were living a german lifestyle). it was simply a cold decision that some people do not deserve to live (gypsies, blacks, jews and who knows who would have been next...) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
you know, i believe the lesson of "never again" was learned much better in germany then in other places (poland, austria, ukraine, etc). i could be wrong but i think germans have accepted the responsibility where others who happily assisted the nazis were never required to. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

right. even for the jewish community here in israel, it took some time to accept the facts. but by 1944, they could reach it (they did nearby factories) and they knew it was for real (aerial pictures). I have. even when you know all the facts, and stand on this cursed ground, its hard to imagine what happened there. especially when everything is green and quiet... what will happen in 50-100 years, when there are no more survivors and the camp itself will be ruined? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
sorry, no. i don't get it (just a stupid jew, i guess ). if you're talking about the noble list post, i didn't get your post there either (especially because it was completely wrong, as several people have pointed out). that list is a fact, the conclusions are subjective. as i said there, i don't like that list and i don't think it leads to one set of genes being better than another. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

here's one for you... i don't like pulling the racism card, and thats why i asked him what his meaning was. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
