Only in America could a movie be used as evidence.....

so what you are all saying is that in fact there is no legislation and no proposed legislation that makes any sort of mandatory buyback program. got it.
-
Source please
-
mandatory buy back? Quote and source for that please. I would like to see more buy-back programs, melt down unwanted firearms and pay $$ for people to turn in the unwanted guns. Would do society a lot of good. And has zero infringement on anyone else's right to own a gun. And stupid laws like this... http://money.cnn.com/2015/10/21/news/police-selling-seized-guns/ If that gun has a rightful owner, then fine, get it back to that owner. If it does not, then crush them and melt them down.

Planned Parenthood and the term "slippery slope" .

Hey, you just tried to tie abortion prostitution and drugs into a thought. And I'm the one with asinine comparisons? -

Planned Parenthood and the term "slippery slope" .
tkhayes replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
I made no such claim, but the sheer numbers do tend to indicate that A) there are a lot of them and B) it is in fact a medical procedure and to your other point C) injecting heroin for recreational use in NOT in fact a medical procedure, but thanks so much for bolstering and making my point. And I am making the point because it is a further argument for women's rights (medically necessary regardless fo whether you think it is or not, just like my choice to get a hip replacement is my right and medically necessary whether or not you think it is) and a further 'dis'-argument to the hypocrisy of people that pretend to be pro-life, when really they just believe what they believe with little basis in fact or reality. As do most Christians and right-wing types. not much fact, lots of emotions, and lots of hypocrisy. Yes I mean you. in general. -

name a source for your claim that pro-life people do not protest the criminalization of prostitution and drugs. I am all for and always have been for the legalization of prostitution and almost all drugs. i can wait. -
Interesting reads...........ABOUT POLICE SHOOTINGS......
tkhayes replied to skycop's topic in Speakers Corner
And I hope we do continue to investigate with fervor the cops that shoot unarmed innocent people. And we go after them with the intensity that should be taken into account when someone is shot dead by someone who is being paid to protect society. Just like we still put drivers through a legal system when they kill someone with their cars....even though we do not go after all drivers like they are 'the antichrist' as you say. go ahead and defend your cops. I will be asking for swift justice for the bad ones. And even the 'good ones' that happen to shoot innocent people in shady and suspicious circumstances.. -

Sorry that your reading skills seem to be so "I don't know how to describe". I made no claim that one group contributes to any other group. My claim was simply the level of paradox and hypocrisy that actually exists. And people do generally care about only those that are close to them as was pointed out in a later post. You made the claim that life is so amazing and so worth living. I was simply stating that there are many many many people in the world that probably do not share nor experience that. -

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starvation 8000 per day is just children under 5. Another link said 21000 but did not specify an age group. 40000 might be a stretch today but that was a number I saw and then studied back in the 80' s and I was mortified. So whether it's 8000 or 10000 or 20,000, my point stands. The numbers are staggering and these people are probably not "enjoying' life. And they are largely ignored by the pro-life movement. -

Some 30,000 to 40,000 children starve to death in the world each day, mostly growing up in poverty and living with disease. Not saying that they never smile or laugh or sometimes have a good time, but I expect most of them missed your motivation speaking tour about how 'lost' they are and how 'marvelous' their existence is. glad you are having a good time. try not to assume that everyone shares your beliefs or your experiences. (BTW , 30,000 children dying from starvation each day for the past 40 years equates to about 450,000,000 children. Pro-lifers need to explain to me exactly how much they care about life again) -

and the 53 million people born would probably be split along the same pro-life/pro-women's-rights lines as the current population. -

or the other way to look at it is the 53 million abortions done since Roe v Wade make this OBVIOUSLY a medically necessary procedure for some ~53M women. High in demand, with women exercising their free right to do so. hooray for freedom and rights. -

that is the line in the sand and I am fine with that. I have zero issues with that as it stands. no issue whatsoever. and neither does a majority of the US population. And again, abortion procedures are upheld by the Supreme Court, and I am fine with that too, and as well the other comments on third trimester abortions, (apparently in the eyes of the pro-life movement an everyday occurrence with no regard for the law...not) I am fine with all of that yes. In the same way that i am fine with 30,000-40,000 children dying of starvation in the world every single day. It is what it is and probably not going to change, morally repugnant and I am fine with it. -

yes they can...and in the case of abortion, America HAS legalized it. regardless of what you or anyone else thinks of it. We also legalize guns which are at the heart of 30,000 deaths each year. and we legalize surgery, which is also at the heart of thousands of deaths each year. And cigarettes, and cars, and flying, and skydiving and playing with gasoline and matches...... and please, brush up on your medical knowledge and the knowledge of the entire pregnancy cycle - it might do you some good and save you from posting incorrect information in the future. Main Entry: in·fan·ti·cide Pronunciation: in-'fant-&-"sId Function: noun 1 : the killing of an infant 2 : one who kills an infant - in·fan·ti·ci·dal /-"fant-&-'sId-&l/ adjective ....not.... -

I never suggested that he should give up his right to talk about it, but from the litany of posts from him, you and others, apparently you would like to go far beyond that and actually ACT on it - And if his Constitutional right is valid, then so is the Constitutional right for women to seek abortions as needed... got that? -
Planned Parenthood and the term "slippery slope" .
tkhayes replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
that is actually your problem, not ours. Just because you 'don't get it' does not mean anyone else is doing anything wrong or anything that should be questioned. Sorry that you 'don't get it'. now stand aside while people participate in their legal and Constitutional rights guaranteed by the Supreme Court. -

Those are gross ugly pictures designed to offend. Abortions preformed that look like that are only done for a few reasons. But bloody pictures from earlier abortions can be just as gross. The use of shock pictures to define this issue is offensive to me. This misuse of pictures as well as the presumption that women who have abortions will go through life as sufferers offends me. The idea that a religious or moral imperative of others should be all that matters here offends me. The idea that a woman should be treated as a child and not be allowed her right to privacy and her own decision offends me. The fact that some men, and it's always men, can decide to kill people over their feeling about this offends me. And the fact that you consider people not offended by what offends you to be sociopaths offends me as well. I have a good understanding of what abortion is without being shown pictures of medical procedures. I am a grown thinking man. I am not offended by abortion and I am neither a sociopath nor devoid of emotion. You may find that a little challenging to get your head around, but it's true. such a great response that I am going to write it down and carry with me. -

People are killed every day against my wishes. funny, I do not seem to get bent all out of shape and lobby endlessly with a bible in my hand to put a stop to it. Or threaten people with violence if it does not stop. Or even walk into some place and start shooting people because it has not stopped. America is a country of laws, and abortion is legal, and fetal tissue processing, research and donations are also legal. People need to have respect for the fucking laws, how about that? The gun lobby demands it (and gets it mostly), and no anti-gun people picked up a gun, shot a bunch of people because they did not get their way. -
funny, we do not seem to have the same regard when we take away voting rights for legal citizens that should be allowed to vote. So the gun lobby is concerned that even 'one' citizen that is on the no-fly list that might not get a gun because that violates their rights, yet the same right wing conservatives will go to extreme lengths to pass legislation so that thousands and thousands of citizens can no longer vote. got it. If only the 'fervor' was so evenly applied....

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
tkhayes replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
eventually yes, but civil courts are weird in this country and vary widely from place to place. It could take years for contempt to happen, if at all. The more likely scenario is the seizure of property and foreclosure on her house, and even that could take years. -

Exactly. And not to mention that the items say 'unauthorized' off-site landings. The airport could simply say, "we authorized them all". But that is a silly minimum standard. If I was Mile High, I would be asking for removal of that clause. It's kind of like demanding that the flight school report every mistake that a student makes during training. The maintenance shop has to report every time they drop a tool or forget to hook up a wire. When i took over Z-Hills, parts of the Airport Authority were pressuring me to agree to 'never let people land off'. I simply refused since that promise can never be made. I asked them "Can you promise me that no airplanes will ever crash at the airport?"
