Should Hillery Clinton release Wall Street speach transcripts
tkhayes replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
You might be missing very much of the motivation for many to support Sanders, nor does it speak very highly of your fellow country men and women. Many people don't want a hand out, they don't want free stuff. They want a fair shake. For probably the first time a whole generation is convinced that they will not do better than their parents, no matter how hard they work. To them the American Dream is dead. The majority of his supporters don't want to sit around, do nothing and get a minimal amount of money. They want the exact opposite. They want to be able to get a chance to work hard and make it. Bingo - and I think people feel that their struggle is pretty futile. No one disagrees that the Middle class has been decimated. Each side disagrees as to how we got there and what is needed to fix it. -
Should Hillery Clinton release Wall Street speach transcripts

I realize that, however the conversation at one point did digress back to HC's email issues and her needing to be in jail so I was commenting on that - which is pretty much the core of the thread anyway... -
Planned Parenthood and the term "slippery slope" .
tkhayes replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
It makes you paradoxical at best and hypocritical at worst and does little for your cause. How so? Please explain. you indicated that a given worst-case scenario was offensive to you yet posted your own worst case scenarios as justification for your stance on abortion. That is paradox. Hypocrisy comes when you actually act on it rather than just words.. -
Should Hillery Clinton release Wall Street speach transcripts

If they are all classified now and marked as classified, then how will they be leaked exactly? You mean the opponents of HC (accusing Hillary of felony charges) would leak classified documents to prove that she was emailing classified documents? Well that makes a lot of sense then. -

It makes you paradoxical at best and hypocritical at worst and does little for your cause. late term abortions are not a statistical issue actually. It is kind of like people who are all for voter suppression seemingly stating that it is Ok to ban many voters for the actions of a few. Late term abortions are already 'banned' in most states in the USA unless the health of the woman is in danger. What you are complaining about is ALREADY regulated. And if you are looking for 'absolutes' in the world, well, good luck. Why yes I have....but you did indicate whether you have yet. I am willing to bet that if the govt passed legislation to ban all abortions outright, shut down all PP funding and remove all forms of birth control from regular availability as well as removing sex education that you would simply not stand in the way of those measures for the simple fact that you are in favor of the abortion ban. Everything else? Collateral damage. This is the danger than you 'extremists' put out there added in edit: collateral damage example, but of course even poor women should have no problem with having babies right? Or getting easy access to birth control right? Or easy access to sex education right? I mean if they are not smart enough to take 'personal responsibility', then we should demand abstinence right? I guess they deserve to be poor and have too many kids..... I guess we might as well blame them for being poor just like we blame women for being raped. - https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/02/05/after-planned-parenthood-closures-poor-women-started-having-more-babies/ -
rights can be regulated unless we are talking about guns and abortions....

pretty much the way it is. Everyone complaining about Hillary releasing 'transcripts'? No one asking for transcripts of your current elected in-office representatives from their meetings with ALEC? hmmm...... -

When i read your previous posts just a few back -"I know women that have had 1, 2, 3....etc", I see you as being just as guilty at posting the worst case scenarios for your argument as well. And that certainly makes you look 'offensive' as well. I look forward to your letters to Congress asking to continue funding PP for birth control and all those things that you say you 'support'. I am not holding my breath that your actions actually support what you say you 'believe'. -

It has nothing to do with their 'worthiness' - it has to do with rights and choice, but nice try at changing the focus. Personally, I'd like to see evidence that the MEN involved in the pregnancy sought out birth control services for these unwanted pregnancies - and then actually being denied those services. I know overweight and unhealthy MEN who've had 1, 2 , 3, 4, no, 5 abortions visits to the doctor for obesity and diabetes. FIVE. Five abortions times!! At what point do we have the right to say that you can't fucking do this anymore! Part of me feels that some MEN, especially repeat offenders should be forced to go to term be healthy. . .I'm tired of all your bullshit. Your comments are truly ignorant and neanderthal....but at least we know where you stand. No wonder women have rights upheld by the Supreme Court with the caveman attitudes that apparently still exist in the country today. -
Sarcasm rarely comes off properly in writing but what I am bringing 'to the platform' is far less ridiculous that what the legislators are bringing to the platform. tit for tat I guess. You see it your way and i see it mine. The fact is that the bill is Draconian. It never should have made it to committee. The fact that someone can even draft this is sad, and if you singularly weed out one sentence of my entire platform on women's rights as a basis for debunking my argument for women's rights....well.... Really?? that is what you are bringing....? really?

On the note of implantation, I have yet to find any really accurate statistics on the frequency of it. But of course, that is like counting how many cancer cells never turned into cancer...... But we do know it happens. Recent legislation making it through committee in Florida would define Human life beginning at fertilization and any abortion up to a 30-year sentence felony. While it is likely that this will NOT pass, it is disturbing enough that such legislation can even make it to a committee in this day and age. I had to write my local representatives, who are both pro-life to protest any support of what is going on in FL right now. attached, I will continue to support women and their rights. I will go to Planned Parenthood to help with the protester situation and I will continue to denounce those that would turn the country back 200 years.

I could give a shit either way and even if they are prosecuted, and convicted, they will get something like probation for what they did. Retake the first part of my statement....."Planned Parenthood was cleared of any and all...." Just like they were everywhere else as well. meaning that any whining about the evils of PP is pretty much that - whining. battle has been fought and lost by those whiners.
-
In case you missed it....Planned Parenthood was cleared of any and all wrongdoing and the vidiots were indicted. Just in case you missed that part.

perhaps you should read the determinations and rulings from Roe v Wade. 'woman's right' used many times and fetal 'right to life' also rejected. it's actually written in words. on paper, and judged as so. from the Supreme Court. You know - those people that determine 'rights' in this country, regardless of your opinion.....?
-
There is no twist. This is a health care issue because it is performed by doctors and practitioners and clinics. It is a women's rights issue because the Supreme Court says it is. By the way....women's rights is not a 'twist', nor have I ever framed it as anything other than women's rights and/or healthcare, unless of course you would like to bring up all the posts where I contradicted myself. I have been consistent since day one. And it is not a 'twist' unless you have some 'twisted' view of what the Supreme Court actually does..... I wonder if you would support my 'saving of innocent lives' when I speak about gun control..... or are gun rights some sort of 'twist' as well?
-
Sure, helping women who need healthcare, there's some hatred there for sure.

Helping escort people in and out and keeping the lunatic christians at bay mostly. First one last week at the anniversary of Roe/Wade in Orlando. The nuts line up on the sidewalk (public land), bellowing out of PAs and yelling biblical verses at you for two hours, threatening me/us with the fires of hell and 'gnashing of my teeth'. They have a baby coffin and hold a mock funeral on the sidewalk, marching up and down with full size crucifixes. Blaying in horns made from longhorn cow antlers (I wonder who killed the animal so they could have the antler) and generally asinine stuff like that. We are there to help provide access to the clinic and to NOT interact with them at all, in any way other than to ask them to keep the driveway clear and stay off the property. It was pretty wild, I guess I always knew these idiots exist, it is still pretty amazing seeing it up real close. whack-jobs. All they did was further establish my resolve on the issue. They served no purpose to further their own cause. They were complete idiots.

this ain't zimmerman....right?

sometimes thing do in fact work out for the best. So if your 'cause' can only be furthered by illegals acts and fancy editing of set-up videos....and is not actually capable of standing on its own foundation....well that doesn't actually say much about your cause then does it? kinda like religion. Waiting patiently for Rushmc to chime in. Signing up for my next Planned Parenthood volunteer session.

yes I do, just like you do..... Rights are up for interpretation pretty much every day by courts in the country. It is called the judicial branch.
-
I have always argued that I bet 95% of the people out there are simply not skilled, trained or qualified enough to be the judge, jury and executioner in any given situation. And your gun rights be damned...I do not feel safer being around some idiot with a gun.

According to the timeline I saw that email was sent after everyone was already dead in the Benghazi attack. If there was a team of people ready to go, how come we have never heard from any of them? Instead just people that have sources that tell then that they heard and yada yada yada. Let's see if yet another congressional investigation gives a shit about it or not. can't wait for yet another report from the right wing that states that nothing happened.....

Trump cannot do that without a vote in congress and the senate...so again, platitude. None of this will happen without COngress acting on it - and it you think that the country is run solely by the president, well....what I said earlier. Every promise costs money and causes tax increases. paying for the deficit most likely will require some tax increase. paying for veterans and even the wars that Trump wants to fight cost taxpayer dollars. none of that is going to get passed - we are still in a ZERO tax increase era in the USA, and it will stay that way for some time yet. THAT is largely why we have a $19T debt. we spend money but we do not have the revenues to pay for the things we want. Congress is what runs this country. Not the President. most americans are not aware of that, which is why we spend 99% of all the media attention on the presidential candidates and 1% on the rest of the election....you know, the people that actually are supposed to do the work. I am certain that Congress is very pleased about not being noticed.....

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/veterans-administration-reforms What brenthutch said - 'the VA is broken', 'fire everyone', 'make the VA great again', ' There is not a single policy statement in the platform other than 'increase funding' and even then, no vehicle by which to do it. If you think that is a clear policy statement about how to fix the VA, then you are sadly mistaken. platitudes about describes it - and describes pretty much any political campaigner these days as well.

The article is 3 1/2 years old and has gained about as much traction as the other congressional investigations and hearings. http://benghazicommittee.com/benghazi-by-the-numbers/ so much for fiscal responsibility and big government etc. Of course they will claim success if Hillary doesn't make the nomination, when in fact it would be Bernie that would take credit for that, not a bunch of wishy washy unable-to-complete-anything-on-their-plate GOPs.
