  1. Stop in at Z-Hills but we will be on summer hours then, we close Tues/Wed starting May 1
  2. countless former 'everybodies' are in prison for fraud of many kinds Blackwater is under indictment even though we still spend billions on them Republicans register fake names all the time (and so do hundreds and thousands of other people An di bet that the judge would really like to see you call him a 'hack' to his face. who gives a shit Like we do not have enough to worry about without giving one fucking shit about ACORN. I bet they have massively cleaned up their act since they got 'exposed' Did Blackwater? No, they changed their name and kept on going. ACORN never killed an innocent civilian - get your priorities straight......
  3. I know that a lot of people see a lot of things in their windows, in the clouds, in their frying pan, in the mud on the side of the road, including images of the 'almighty' and such. This morning I saw the ultimate image, in my Kaiser roll - can you guess who......?
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Keegstra this is a good example of why 'hate speech' is illegal in Canada. Guy teaches students for fucking years that the holocaust was a hoax, spouts off his hatred for Jews, and basically loses his job and gets a small fine for it all. Sorry but free speech is free speech and I am all for it. Anne Coulter can stand up in front of any crowd and spout off all she wants. A teacher or similar situation, who has a responsibility to state the FACTS, as opposed to hate mongering rhetoric deserves to be punished "Fire in the crowded theater is NOT free speech". A judge cannot use free speech to say that 'she deserved it' to a rape victim either. Canada is not an 'insecure or unconfident republic', it just has a line and it draws it. That line is different than here in the USA. Not bad or wrong - just different.
  5. Already have all those 'taxes. Life insurance companies refuse you (and health insurance companies raise rates or deny you) based on BMI Smokers pay taxes through purchase of cigarettes I was tagged on a health insurance application for not being a member of a gym, AND for not following up on a doctors appointment that had been scheduled. THey flatly refused the policy until those issues were resolved. After 3 months of back and forth, in the end, they flatly refused the policy due to the way I make my living. (Humana) So all the things you 'cannot wait for' are already happening to many of us out here.
  6. the really sad part is that 800 people showed up.....
  7. so using this argument, then the government should also stop funding the military and every other program that it touches, given that everything it touches 'balloons out of control' I am all for it, lets cut out the military!
  8. no one in the USA is really talking about 'universal health care'. We are talking about single payer - not quite the same thing. And yes and private/public system can and could work just fine.
  9. I jumped a Merlin in 1983, that should give you some idea of the age and usefulness. It was a bad parachute then and is a bad parachute now. Do you really want 40 year old parachutes in your gear? I will spring for the nice new one, thanks
  10. the link to the 'full report' on Heritage is broken. But al that is moot. If we stopped two wars and reduced military spending by 10-20%, we could eliminate the deficit in 'fuck-all' time. Yes that is a financial term "fuck-all time" and we could afford universal single payer health care and all those better education programs that might actually make the USA a better country again.
  11. and it is honkin' stupid windy again today, although we managed a few loads. Supposed to do two demos into Zephyrhills for the City's 100th Bday. Lats evening sunset scrubbed due to wind. Today 3:30 already scrubbe due to wind.
  12. well, we have done some 65-70K jumps a year for 10 years or more. 3000-4000 each year are tandems. We have had no tandem fatalities but numerous other fatalities in the same period. DO the math - that would make tandem jumping infinitely safer than experienced skydiving, at our place. I am pretty sure USPA would have some stats on tandem numbers each year in the USA.
  13. sorry, no tailgate this year, Could not arrange it as the EXPO in Deland took some priority. Two Otters (at least) High Altitude load(s) Saturday morning first thing (that means 8am briefing), night jumps, safety meetings (AFTER the night jumps) see you there
  14. So from what i am reading, most TV switches appear to use RGB plus audio cables. We will have 5-7 televisions, all flat screen LCD. Want to switch the signals from various sources to various TV's. As I said most switches that I have found use RGB plus Audio. That means running FIVE coax cables for each TV. Am I right? And then do you use RG-6 or RG-59? Most seem to say RG-6 is better for signal loss. The runs will be about 60-70' at worst case. HDMI cables appear to only travel 10-20' at best and are very expensive, plus there appear to be no switches for them. THe computer network part is pretty straightforward. Wireless Network, RAID storage a nice Windows 7 or Mac machine should do the media part. Have TV antenna, Digital converter box, computer, DVD/VCR setups and a couple switches to manage the signals to different sets. Anything else I am missing?
  15. if one side wants kids and the other does not, then the issue is simple - DO NOT move in together. You all need to resolve that issue before you live together - plain and simple.
  16. of course they were cleared. ACORN is not necessarily and wholly responsible for radical and errant behaviour by one of its team. A pattern would have to be produced. That is like have IBM being charged with theft because one of its employees stole somethign while on the job nice try right-wingers, - but it is sad that both sides have to resort to stupid tactics just ot make the other side look bad. "Can't we all just get along?"
  17. and Z-Hills is 7 days a week and busy
  18. Starting at 9am sharp, the first of seven or 8 seminars at Skydive City for Safety Day Should be a great weekend for jumping, see you then
  19. pipandjudy@yahoo.com have trailers for rent at the DZ, however, probably full during Easter already - but you can try. TK
  20. tkhayes

    tosh.o

very funny stuff, even for an old fart like me. I try not to miss it. I have no idea where he gets all the videos....
  21. as opposed to just Miss Beverly Hills wishing death on Gays?? Is there a difference? not exact, but pretty friggin' close examples.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps http://www.examiner.com/x-10853-Portland-Humanist-Examiner~y2009m8d24-Christian-hate-Pastor-Steven-Anderson-prays-for-Obamas-death http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_sex_abuse_cases need I go further?
  22. You are the one that said it was 'personal', not me. I argue that it is everything BUT personal. If you are 'loud', I am allowed to be as well. Tell you what, if you (the religious zealots) stop talking about religion in your everyday life then I will stop talking about it as well. Deal.
  23. If it is so 'personal', then why are there churches with millions of members? Religion is GLOBAL, not personal. and because it is global, us atheists, also global, disagree with you because you daily try and pump it into our lives. We are not interested. If it is so 'personal', then you should be more than happy to NOT discuss it in public, on forums, or otherwise. Just the way i would like to see it. Just like anal sex - I don't like it, I am not interested in whether or not you like it, but if you want to do it in your own bedroom, that is fine by me - but I am not interested in hearing about it...... Keep it out of my government, keep it out of my life, don't talk about it - 'cause its nothing but a long story that insults my intelligence.....
