  1. By 'them' do you mean the party or the people? The Democratic party does not have control over its own 'control'. Control freaks or not, the PEOPLE elect them and the 'people' them are tired of capitalism, they are tired of the 'american dream' that it will all work out for them just like it did for Bill Gates or Howard Hughes.... What they want is a government and a country that looks after AMERICANS as a people. And for that reason primarily, people will tolerate and accept more government 'control' as long as the programs that are being put into place are steered towards the 'general welfare of the people' not for the wealth and benefit of the few and the corporations. Very very simple. Health Care, Education, Food and jobs - that is what people want right now. Less corporate taxes, bail-outs, wars and cut-throat reductions in services they DO NOT want.
  2. based on your 'facts', 1, 2 and 3, all I can say is "I rest my case"

  4. 'He' gave us no facts - we actually discovered them ourselves.....lightning causes fire, smash nuts with a rock, build tools, count to ten because we have ten fingers and toes, add subtract, multiply, evolved thumbs, asked questions and then answered them through research, just as monkeys do today, one step at a time. 'We', not 'He' did all that..... Most of what you say/said has a word to describe it -- Rhetoric.....
  5. http://www.redlandsdailyfacts.com/sanbernardinocounty/ci_14811411 wow Imagine if Jesus and God had shared their knowledge and abilities of particle physics with us 2000 years ago, we could have built the Hadron collider that much sooner and had gotten that much farther ahead in research all these years. What a bunch of wankers for not letting us in on those cool secrets!! And now they expect us to WORSHIP them? get real.....
  6. there is no reason to NOT buy an AAD. More people suffer from your demise than just you - your family and friends. Would you buy a car without seatbelts? Not in this day and age. AADs save lives, regularly. No one deserves to die just because they made some small mistake.
  7. I wish all the people talking about who told who to STFU would just STFU!
  8. Sounds like the Bush/Cheney era doesn't it?
  9. as soon as they find the 'God particle' every atheist will go "See, there is no God" Every religious type will go "See, they found the "God Particle", therefore there is a God" If they make a black hole - EVERYONE is going to want one...... But seriously folks.....I think the research is phenomenal and it all reaffirms my faith in mankind - that despite the idiots that we elect to run things, mankind can have an amazing level of ingenuity and perseverance. I cannot even fathom a) how someone can even dream this thing up and b) then go build it and make it work. Pretty fucking cool stuff.....
  10. I am white - and I fear NOTHING - Ha ha haaaaa!

  13. homemade Kaiser rolls - yummy, no wonder I am so fucking fat....
  14. Yes you are right - I mean we would not want to be 'literal' or stick to the facts when debating such an important topic...... How silly of me....
  15. Healthcare is not 'free', no one is saying that. And every other country in the world that has single payer pays less per capita than we do, so the 'cost' argument has been won time and time again. Your point is most CERTAINLY, invalid.
  16. gov't just passed a bill to fund the military for $708B. Never even had discussion in the House for fucks sake. Seems a little strange that we can fund two wars without ANY debate, yet funding healthcare practically sends the country into civil war. America has its priorities truly fucked in the head. Paying for health care is a piece of cake in this country with the money this place has. They simply bury their heads i the sand as to the reality of how to do it.
  17. I give up, Where does it stop? I believe that it does not stop at education, food or health care, how about that? I believe that it DOES stop at military fighting fucking wars in countries whose names most Americans cannot spell. I have my line - you have yours. I don't give a fuck what libertarians believe; because a healthy, EDUCATED, well fed population is far better than an ignorant, hate-mopngering hungry, disease-ridden population. Do you disagree with that? If you want the government out of your life and every man for himself, what you get today is something actually like HAITI. Not for me thank you very much. I would rather see my neighbor, healthy and educated at the very least. I personally would like to see a better life for my fellow man, not defending myself against him because he has less than me.
  18. "can you say the letter 'K'?" "Well sure, Karky, Kind, Kipper, Kipling...." "Well why don't you say the letter K instead of the letter C?" "You mean spell Bolour (Carl) with a K?" you get the idea....
  19. disagree, I will, I do and I will continue to support making YOU, me, everyone else, corporations and whoever else we can tax - PAY FOR and get health care for all Americans. Medicare for all, paid for through the tax base. Just like 'Police, firefighters, roads, schools' for everyone, paid for by the tax base.......
  20. we 'could' always offer it. But as you know, and as stupid as this may sound to be the absolute OBVIOUS health care is expensive. Few if any companies supply full health care benefits to their staff - let alone a dropzone. We used to have a group plan and everyone used to be in it. It also used to be reasonably priced. It got pricier and pricier and the staff chose NOT to participate, even those we were paying for half of it. SO eventually we have no one int he plan, therefore no plan. Others in these forums would perceive that as "Skydive City unwilling to provide health insurance to their staff". Sadly they have no fucking idea about anything that we do or do not provide to our staff and I get pissed just having some internet hacks take pot shots from afar when they know nothing of what we do to take care of our staff, I onc personally arrange for a hernia operation for one of my staff since he did not make enough money to buy any form of insurance, and needed the surgery. We made a lot of phone calls and through a lot of work, got a doctor to do it, got a hospital to donate the room and time, got nurses to help with the recovery and we got it done. That might sound like a wonderful example of how it is supposed to work, but it is actually a very good example of how PISS POOR the health care is in this country. The new legislation will pretty much force everyone to have health insurance in this country and will probably tax, in some way, companies and perhaps even make it more worth our while, not to mention the must have. I could easily supply my staff with a health insurance policy for $50/month. It would cover NOTHING. I could offer them a comprehensive gold package for $400/month each, but then your jump tickets would be $30/jump and we would go out of business. I have no idea why I have to explain the obvious as to why small businesses cannot and do not generally offer health insurance WHETHER OR NOT they believe that health care is a good idea. BTW, I am and always have been, an advocate of HEALTH CARE, not an advocate of HEALTH INSURANCE. Health INSURANCE is pretty much useless in this country. Health CARE would be a better goal.
  21. Actually, with the new legislation - YES, we will.
  22. not when he is teaching it to kids - fuck that. I was living in Calgary then, in my 20's. The Aryan Nations showed up to support him and wanted to set up a 'training camp' in Canada near there. I was seriously thinking about putting a fucking bullet into one of those guys if that was going to happen - NIMBY. Of course, then the Jewish Defense League showed up too - just as bad A lot of people felt the same way. The RCMP and feds did a good job of managing the whole thing by reminding people that the Aryan Nations cannot just set up a 'military/militia style training camp in Canada, we do not allow it. I was quite happy with the 'line' that we drew in Canada back then, thank you very much, free speech or not. Every time I hear someone say 'Nigger' here in Zephyrhills (and i hear it a lot), I also generally take the time to confront that person and say something like "If you say nigger again in front of me, I am going to drag you outside and break your arm" free speech my ass - they are hate-mongering fuckheads. There is a difference.
  23. $1B/year, divided by 18.5M residents in Florida, $54/year per person. BULLSHIT that they cannot afford it. Florida does not even have state income tax fer chrissake. My property taxes have gone down consistently for the last 5 years in Florida and all the governments do is complain they have to money and they are cutting more programs, cutting more education, cutting more this and that. Fuck that - RAISE my taxes by $500/year on my house - it is a pittance and we can finally get some response to the programs that are needed.
  24. It is really going to depend on your ability to do the jump - operating the gear mostly. Gotta be realistic about what you can and cannot do. Walk through every step of a skydive with your limitations in mind. Big student canopies help, but then they make a one-armed flare more difficult. Emergency procedures. etc good luck with it.
