I concur. Yes, the under-age drinking is bad, but he was not legally drunk, either. The kid fucked up and he probably knows it. Whatever the outcome he has learned a lesson.

Skydiving, Safety, and how this Newbie Sees It

Hmmm, only 3 absentees. You know who you are.... Anyway, it was fun, and despite the cloudy weather we got 6 or 7 loads to full altitude. Thanks for showing up, and a special thank you to Lara (westcoastchica) for soliciting the local businesses with Erin. BTW, the cookies were excellent, even though they got devoured. And, Robyn, your fufu coffee saved me.

Terry, Rosa, Michele, Jtval, et al. That was a very noble gesture. Your generosity will go a long way in assisting the staff in rebuilding their lives. Speaking of pictures, here's a pic of an AFF level 1 in July. All the equipment shown was lost in the fire. I'm on the mainside, Yoyo on reserve. The student gear was lost, too. If you look into the plane, you can see Pat (patairborne) wearing his camera helmet, also lost.

Nebula, No need to donate money.... right now it looks like we are not covered. There were over a dozen staff members who lost everything and only a couple have insurance. Figure $10k to $20k+ per staff. Donate money if you want, but don't feel obligated. We cleaned up the debris today and with the help of Chief, one of the local jumpers, he donated the use of his Bobcat which cut our clean up by several hours. Several jumpers, including Rosa, Kris, and Kyle were on hand to assist with the clean up. Heck, just showing up at the dz is more than enough support. Thank you, Shark
