  1. Exactly, so why make them do a tandem? Your assuming they'll fuck up. Try taking your best friend's wife on her Level 1 jump while he's on the plane. Talk about pressure. His wife had one of the best exits and I only gave her two signals; a thumbs up on the first COA and another thumbs up on the second. Yeah, totally unexpected. At the end of the FJC we give students the option of a training tandem. Some take it, while some don't and some we strongly recommend. One thing we should make madatory is tunnel time before level 3. But that's another debate.
  2. Sold you that VX 39 did he?
  3. VrW record shown again on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays.... Okay, time to lock this thread.
  4. Like mine, lost over Mission Trails. That's why I'm replacing it with a new Pimp Daddy! Both are still great helmets, though.
  5. Noice! Better pretty er up for the Infinity-way at Perris. BTW, looks like BXT's needs a few stiches.
  6. Has this been posted yet? Minutes ago Fox News just aired some footage of the 42 way recently in Perris. Even if late, it still made national news channels. Has CNN done anything?
  7. those are only a 1.4 wl!! he needs a 170 or a 190 @ 2.1 or 1.9 I know, but he is just a skypup and shouldn't downsize to quickly. See his jump numbers?
  8. I heard a rumor that PD is making a Katana 260. If not, you could always get that VX 259. We'll get you in Bry's canopy school and you'll be swoopin' the pond in the future.
  9. with a 1.07WL on a 337 canopy i would have to agree....Amazon...you have competition I didn't realized he downsized from a 370!!!!
  10. Your buddy GQ might show up to do a fun jump with you!
  11. that's cuz she's on anti-depressants.
  12. Uhhuh, well whuteva.... ...but I'll still buy you a or 2.
  13. Maybe the freefall and observation portion, but the stuff that carried over from the BIC should me mandatory. Absolutely! BTW, you're persona non grata on the Infinity-Way. So sez Dom.
  14. ...and don't forget the ALL INFINITY jump!!!!
  15. That is the problem. It is a "simple" rating to get. The requirements aren't that hard at all. I have seen one person in particular get one recently that plain and simple SUCKS in the air. They couldn't even dock on me in a two way without help. Now they are going to be a coach? Yep! I've seen one coach funnel a two way. Another issue is that some skydivers feel they have incredible knowledge, and would not need to waste money on the course. That's fine, but can they be articulate and teach? And by who's standards? There's or the CDs? I think there should be a way to "challenge" the rating, much like the AFF-I. I am not a Coach Course Director but I have been an evaluator on many skydives and ground preps. It should be an option. I also feel that one must have been a coach for at least 6 months prior to entering the AFFIRC, but probably not the TI rating. This way a coach learns how things are done at their particular DZ, much like an apprentice. The Coach Rating is not a difficult rating to get. The difficulty arises when one tries to get hired by the DZ staff. If you feel that a particular coach sucks, that's because the DZ has lowered it's standards. There are lots of coach rated skydivers, and some may be very good, but aren't on staff. At some DZs we are very fortunate to have excellent coaches/flyers. It's not the rating, it's what you do with it.
  16. ummmm........ahem..............fuck that!! I'm not letting someone go splat when all it would take is pulling there hacky or in worst case there reserve. That's just it. How many work-up jumps has a coach candidate had to simulate a pull for a student? Is that coach qualified to do so safely? Many an AFF-I candidate had inadvertantly deployed an evaluator's reserve because of improperly trying to stabilize and rolling them over. There's more to just pulling a handle. By the time a student gets to Cat. G & H they should have demonstrated the skills and abilities to self jumpmaster themselves. They've also probably done so successfully during a solo before their first coach jump as well. In your hypothetical, that student should probably not have passed AFF. My point being that you could actually make the situation worse without proper training.
  17. Additional info here:Bridge the Gap Also, May 22nd is the next Excel Basic Camp.
  18. Well, October and annual Chicks Rock Boogie is only a few months away . I couldn't think of a better place or time for a meeting. I'm sure the PMS'ers will be out in force! BTW, 4 aircraft, plus may be something special.
  19. I hope to gain more confidence on each and every jump.
  20. Your Sam would have been happier if Cajones would've put it in an Infinity instead of one of those "other" rigs.
  21. Heck, yeah! They rock... but Lew, ya know ya look better in it than Special Ed does.
  22. Hey Mandy! Miss you!!!! Shark
