Yeah, happy skybirthday. Seems like only yesterday I wore a 12 lb. weight belt on your A license check dive. Actually, it was yesterday, wasn't it? Just kidding. Congratulations!

Is this an acknowledgement that Bush needs to cheat again in order to get re-elected? Exacty how did Bush cheat?

Works at Elsinore, too. FPD lands into the wind to set the pattern. If you do not agree with this directions land at one of the alternate areas. There are 3 of them. If in a no-wind condition, land towards the lake. If one continues to violate these safety procedures they will not be skydiving there long or will be restricted to the student landing area. If you want to swoop, take advantage of our high-performance landing area. There, anything goes.

So the answer is, "no" you don't have any official evidence or proof...it's just a liberal opinion. Got it, thanks. What a stupid comment. There is no broad coalition, who needs a poll to tell them that. Who are you going to poll, Texans? There IS no broad coalition. That is a fact. That's a stupid comment, even for a professor. Even you can access a dictionary. Maybe you can explain how the US paying 90% of the costs and supplying over 90% of the troops represents a broad coalition. And how, exactly, is any poll going to make a difference to those numbers? Well JFK, you mention numbers. 90% of what? How much money? And out of that, how much is each coalition nation providing? One way or another, the national poll on November 2nd will make a difference. But then again, some of your friends may show up to vote on Nov. 3rd.

Cat. F, typically after they complete AFF, which is Cat. A-E. You may also teach portions of the FJC, under the supervision of an AFF-I.

Darius, Kerry was not fighting for his country, but rather fighting to save his own ass. To know John Kerry is to ask the men whom served with him. -John Edwards Read what his peers said about him and his 15 weeks in "combat." As far as I'm concerned the only alliance he made with foreign countries are North Viet Nam and the Soviet Union.

why no US C130? or C141 or C17??
Shark replied to Praetorian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You can! It's called a Mass Tac. Only problem is that it's a static-line jump and you have to join the Army first. -
Ah, but sporting newly manicured nails projects confidence, and manliness.

Didn't mean to make you mad. For the record I am an independent and do not vote along party lines. I just find it odd that too many people log on to dz.com just to get involved in what they called a debate about politics. Even now this is fucking stupid that I might be arguing with you. My post is lighthearted compared to some of the bullshit that's posted in SC. Like they say, "fuck 'em if they can't take a joke." Hell, I'll even buy you a jump if you are ever in SoCal, that way you can increase your #'s above 200. You might even find you like the right leaning people when you jump here. It may even surprise you that some share your views. BTW, did you vote?
-
Well, I forgot the for you sensitive types! Lighten up, dude. You are taking this out of context! I mean, honestly do you discuss politics at the dz? Of course you don't. Who says you have to jump when you are there. Just jump/hang out and quit worrying about the political bullshit. Certainly, others will waste their days here on SC. YMMV

He's either lying or confused. Whenever he makes a statement you are always in danger of "taking it out of context."
-
Have you discussed this with your instructors? I wouldn't be too concerned with my student doing a perfect back-loop, front-loop, or barrel roll. Having my student be able to get stable from an unstable position/maneuver and the ability to pull on their own is more critical. Check out our website under "Jump Start." It was some animated training features that may be helpful to you. ...and talk with your instructors. Shark AFF-I Skydive Elsinore

Nothing wrong with doing that. Ask if you do not remember or have the knowledge. Some people risk their safety trying to remain cool by not asking for help. If you do not posses an A license or equivalent you are considered a student. Until you are off student status you must jump a rig equipped with an AAD. If you are a student you should know how to turn and AAD on/off. Shark D-24499, AFF-I Skydive Elsinore

I concur. I would not clear anyone to self jumpmaster if they have never turned an AAD on or off. Typically we show them starting on Cat. A and even have them turn it on themselves during their gear check on following categories. I demonstrate this during the FJC. Yes, they'll probably forget by the time we gear up, but all the instructors reinforce these skills.

Happy BDay Skymonkey Forty One!

I've had my share...most recently. This dude couldn't get the hand signals even after reviewing them for an hour. The dive flow was just as bad and I recommended a training tandem. Even in the plane his knowledge, or lack thereof, was evident. Another instructor was even pointing out the DZ and my bright student kept nodding in agreement. I asked him if he could really identify it since he did not have his glasses on, which he confessed that it was difficult. Apparently he didn't feel too cool wearing his spectacles. The exit was as I expected; poor count, dearched, etc. I tapped him to do his COA. He checked his altimeter then proceeded to do PRCPs without even touching the handle. I gave him an arch, followed by the practice pull signal at which time he deployed us at 9 grand. I released the brakes and had him take the toggles to perform the canopy check. Heck, the practice flare was lame, but after making him do it correctly a few times his canopy control was much better. I had him look at his altimeter to tell me where we were at. He did on the second attempt. Later I had him grab a toggle and hold it in a spiral for a few turns. We reversed and at that time I think he lost his lunch. Lucky for him he was wearing a jumpsuit. Lucky for me I avoided the hurl. The winds on approach were nearing 20 so we landed at the alternate. I had one catcher whom was very cautious as he grabbed one of the toggles, avoiding the mess on the dudes chest. As I grab the canopy I see him taking off the harness and jumpsuit like he was leaving it in the landing area. (Again, it wasn't cool to walk back past the packing area with url on you.) I yelled at him to bring it back and leave them on the grass. (His dad was there and he didn't want to be embarassed.) During the debrief he couldn't recall what altitude he deployed us at, nor what my signal was. The bowling speech was coming to mind. So this is a guy who tried to convince me that he was okay for an AFF jump. Dumb is one thing, but dumb, blind, and overconfident is dangerous. ...but sometimes you get a good class. Last Saturday I had 5 in my FJC and all were pretty good with typical Level 1 jumps. 3 even had stand up landings with the other 2 flaring a bit high and falling on their butts or PLF'ing.
-
Then you should reconsider jumping any AAD. Ever been witness to a mid-air misfire? I have. So there you go.
-
What ever you decide on, please consult with your instructor. Shark (AFF-I and contact wearer)
-
Exactly Been there, done that, won't do it again.... (An AFF jump, and yes, I accepted their monetary tip.) AFF work-up jumps may be a good indicator, but few evaluators roll-over at pull time; real students will.

Anonymity does not support credibility. Having the balls to reveal your identity is a step in the right direction. Otherwise, take your arguments to PMs.

Dude, That's f'n crazy! How many tandems do you have? Shark out.
