Stowing twists on grommits, riggers advice please
darnknit replied to Freeflysmiley's topic in Gear and Rigging
probably because you were learning to pack, or perhaps you were packing a canopy with dacron lines. i have double stowed locking stows for thousands upon thousands of pack jobs and never had a problem with it using large Keener crepe bands. however, i am unaware of any manufacturer who recommends or approves of that practice. i would not recommend double stowing a locking stow to anyone. i guess i have become my dad, "do as i say, not as i do". i should mention i have only used this technique on main parachutes. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
Weekday Jumping: X-keys v The Ranch
darnknit replied to Mostly_Harmless's topic in Events & Places to Jump
i'm guessing you mean are winds normally a problem. generally at x-keys winds are not a problem, but just like every other dz in the world we do have days when you wouldn't want to jump out of an airplane even if it was on fire. today is one of them(gusts to 40 mph). that is probably why pancake mentioned ridiculous winds. if you haven't been to x-keys before, ask for one of the instructors to show you spots, outs, landing pattern, and the beer line. any one of us would be happy to help you. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
i would merely explain to that customer that they had been caught cheating. i have no power of enforcement as far as the FAA is concerned. were there to be a question of any kind, my rigger's logbook would supercede any information on the data card, no matter how well the data card was forged. however, i do not condone( and actually advise against) pencil packing. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

am i to understand that you truly do consider me an idiot? i gotta tell ya, the tone of your posts seem to indicate there is hate intended. a good example would be you wishing a desire to see me beat myself with a crowbar. i would classify a desire to witness personal injury as hate. that's just the way i run. and if i took the same attitude, where would we be? yet, i continually try to be nice to you and you thwart me at every effort. JESUS bobbi, i would have thought offerring to buy your boyfriend a birthday present would have been enough. if you had accepted i would have bought him $20 worth of guy stuff and sent it to him. but you wanted to: and thus missed out on an opportunity that most likely would have been good. nice going, p.s. when i said opportunity, i meant it in a platonic way. i really am trying to get along with you, but i can't do that all by myself, sooner or later you will have to step up to the plate slugger. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

I am gonna be a zombie in Grindhouse, Rodriguez/Tarantino flick

you are just proving my point. (HINT: SEE IF YOU CAN FIND ANY INTEGERS IN YOUR USER NAME THAT ARE GREATER THAN 5) pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
once again you return my kindness with hate. people have told me that you are thoughtful and caring. is there any chance i could witness that for myself? i gotta' tell ya' that your friends are myopic at best from where i stand pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

yea, but that opinion is based on a creature who can't count to six pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
with every keystroke, you just reaffirm a stereotype. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

in a literal sense? no. in a metaphorical sense? no. i emphatically suggest that you stop listening to songs or voices in your head, at least until you dye your hair black(red would just make you look stupid AND crazy). i hope that helps. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

here's a thought. see if anyone at Eloy could help you out. it might involve e-mailing or calling that particular dropzone. i hope that helps. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

you could apologize to me for calling me an idiot. that way you could tell your SO(i love how that phrase disguises the fact that any given person could have relations with swine flu carrying gutter slut wharf rats as long as they were SIGNIFICANT, but i digress) you have made a new friend, one that would be willing to send him a birthday present in the ten to twenty dollar range. i would absolutely love to buy this (person, thing, chew toy) a present, i just turned forty myself, please pm me an address where i can send your, as you so lovingly refer to it, SO a birthday present as usual, i am just trying to be nice. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

STEEPED in irony. a couple extra keystrokes wouldn't kill you. do you even check if the brakes are set properly? it seems that takes more effort than two keystrokes, and you have proven you are unwilling to do that, even in a sigline that only needs to be typed once. just thought you might want to hit the ground running there sport. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

i can tell you are a packer, you don't use ALL the letters in a word when you type. this could be because your keyboard is in disrepair, or because you are too lazy for the additional keystrokes. in any case it his highly indicative that you are a packer(get your supervising rigger to help you with the polysyllabic words). beating my packer with a crowbar is the nicest thing i could do for him. it builds character, it makes his coat shiny. the cute little scamp becomes more playful and loving. like payback said, if your packer isn't cowering in the corner you have failed as a skydiver. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

why would your friend need uniting? and if he did why would you want a packer to do it? most packers don't understand how to get the yummies out of a new box of cereal, and yet you want packers to do some kind of Steve fucking Austin bionic miracle making on your friend? dude, that is weird. or did you mean packers UNTIE my friend? that would make sense, but while you are at it you should also ask them to remove the ballgag. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

cool pics, i didn't realize photoshop had a backpedal feature! you schooled me good, props to the pental freak! pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

couldn't find one with a crowbar in it could ya? oooh, i feel so totally owned pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

dude, i'm not sure why you want to confess your (undoubtedly) brief "sexual experimentation" on this particular thread, but if you were tryng to give advice based on your personal experience it was "cryptic" at best. what lesson are you trying to impart based on the experience you have with your habit of ass-fucking stangers, and more importantly how does it pertain to beating your packer with a crowbar? pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

the guy in the clip where the speedbag locked up does not have the bag on the floor. he also appears to be walking at least as fast as you did.( i just watched both clips) given the reasons you state above, it is difficult for me to understand how only one of these tests is realistic. i also notice that even in jumpshack's video, half of the bag remains shut. i wont speak for anyone else, but if i noticed a condition like that, even on my main, i would change something. i'm just not a big fan of half-shut deployment bags. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

that would be a precedent setting respite from that techno shit the packers are always playing. the funniest thing i ever saw was three packers standing over a case of CD's trying to, and i quote, "PICK OUT SOME GOOD MUSIC". oh wait, that reminds me of a joke: this packer walks into a bar, and everybody in the bar beats the shit out of him. i love that one. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
-
no, i don't. please elucidate. because i would never wish harm, or be willing to witness harm inflicted on another individual. that's just the way i run. packers don't count. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

actually, i've met many individuals with qualities like yours(deep thinker, very caring person, or so i have been told). you just aren't all that unique(i am knee deep in deep thinking, caring people). i'm just spreading some sunshine, we are all special. by the way, i would never want to witness you getting hurt. can you say the same? pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

i get to the DZ this morning, and my packer, the little tube-sock wearing trance-dancer is cowering in the corner. i knew it was gonna be a great day! i did my work jumps(all unbelievably sweet openings), and then proceeded with the crowbar. so then that fuckin' hobo-rapin', fingernail paintin', nun molestin' loser starts choking on a tooth that he swallowed while i was beating him with a crowbar(it should be noted that we are not at all certain it was his tooth, as a matter of fact, we are pretty sure it belonged to the nun). i like the little douche-nozzle so i hit him in the solarplexus with the crowbar(that dislodged the tooth from his esophagus). he didn't thank me, but he's a packer, and is therefore incapable of understanding gratitude. all in all it was still a great day. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
-
the thing is that when i was really laying into him i was getting beautiful openings. lately i have been a little tired, so at the end of the day, when it came time to beat my packer, the crowbar was feeling heavy. i was just going through the motions. it's just like everything else in the sport. you can't get complacent. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
