"Regularity" of Jumping Question
kschilk replied to BerryBoy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, like I said...... "T'was ever thus." -
I had similar experiences...I believe it was the aerosol boat-horn, that finally ended the first episode. The next one was more persistent but (oh so) conveniently, from a call-center....here in my town! When I revealed that I was less than five minutes from their front door, had some friends that worked there and had an uncanny ability to recognize voices, well........I know how Bush feels

"Regularity" of Jumping Question
kschilk replied to BerryBoy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We all can only relate to our own experiences but I have to disagree with most any implied relationship, between competence and/or "experience".....and jump #s. From what I've seen, quantity tends to lead to complacency....repetition can be mind-numbing. Fewer but more varied jumps, can be more beneficial. Making 1000 jumps from the same plane, at the same altitude, at the same dz, under virtually the same conditions....that's just making 1 jump, 1000 times. It's the variations and the variety, that give you the most "experience". ...but that's all just my op. In general, the currency requirements are as per the dz....some are by-the-book and some are more casual. In many cases, you're as current, as the dz's bankbook says you are. "T'was ever thus." -
Not everyone should have access to guns. Part 2 -- Huckabee.
kschilk replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
This time, it was only a shotgun....imagine what damage he could do, with the power of the presidency. I'd say it's a graphic example of his "concern" for the people. Besides, I thought all Huckabillies knew how to use guns!?! "T'was ever thus." -
Things like this have a tendency to backfire. This could seriously erode support for terrorists and other extremists, it could end up being an intelligence coup for the U.S. and its allies. She had plenty of followers and supporters already but this could tip the fence-sitters, more in her direction. She's a martyr now and over there, that has power. "T'was ever thus."

Nah....hook it up to a "clapper"!

The War on Christmas: Let's Score One for Jesus
kschilk replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
Actually, I have read the Bible, though I find more truth in the tales from the brothers Grimm. I haven't read the Quran, since sequels usually suck anyway. "T'was ever thus." -
I was just tryin' to lighten things up a bit here, don't be gettin' yer panties all in a bunch. I don't give a crap what anyone believes....I served during 3 conflicts so they can believe what they want. Geeziz! Gettin' a little too heavy into the Frasier reruns, maybe? "T'was ever thus."

The War on Christmas: Let's Score One for Jesus
kschilk replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
People are simply tired of all the hate, prejudice and terror, that ALL religions seem to spread. Religious Christmas decorations are more pertinent to the church, than to Jesus or any "God". Modern religions have strayed from their roots and are just as commercial, as any other business. Religious symbols have become symbols of greed, power, persecution and terror. Santa symbolizes joy, hope, love and the spirit of giving to/for others. I think anymore, the Santa decorations are more reverent to the true spirit of Christmas and Jesus, than any nativity scene. Redneck!? Isn't that like...a foreskin infection or something? "T'was ever thus."

Doesn't matter, probably woulda' been foreclosed anyway. "T'was ever thus."

Psychological Well-being and Extreme Sports?

If I really thought skydiving was dangerous, I wouldn't be doin' it. If I wanted to be a daredevil, I'd go canoeing.....or to a mall. "T'was ever thus." -
Careful, next thing ya know somebody is going to spout off about the "superiority" of the metric system. Damn...crushed my move again! It is, though. Aside from that, I sympathize with the feeling of "never gonna' need this", since I have never, to this very day....needed to diagram a sentence. I think knowing where to find and/or access certain information, is more important than memorizing it. Supposedly, Einstein never knew his own phone number...he never memorized it because he didn't want to clutter his mind, with information he rarely needed and knew where to find, if he did. That isn't slush....when ya' shook it, ya' made it cum! "T'was ever thus."

The Triathlon is a fine canopy but I doubt it can be classified as "all around", any more than the Safire 2. I suppose it mostly depends on your style and its primary intended use. They're really two different planforms so it's not a fair comparison. Though I've never tried one, the Fusion is supposedly comparable to the Safire 2, Pilot and Sabre 2. "T'was ever thus."
-
Going from a Safire to a Tri sounds like a step backwards, to me. I recently went from a Triathlon 160, to a Safire 2 139. I've jumped Sabres a few times, never a Pilot or Diablo. Sounds to me like you're looking for an intermediate, entry level (to elipticals) canopy and I'd hafta' say, it's hard to beat the Safire 2 in that category. If you're already used to a Safire, a Tri would probably feel like a bit of a slug. "T'was ever thus."

According to most countries, Americans have no nationality. Being a nation of immigrants, they don't consider "American" as a nationality. As for the race question, I just write-in "used to". "T'was ever thus."

I'd rather see 'im hump the penguin and snort the Coke. "T'was ever thus."
